Nice house, comfortable, clean, comfy beds, just needs to upgrade lighting in living room , and replace burnt out bulbs in other parts of house. Some of the chair legs are a little wobbly and need to be fixed. Husband requests you download Fox News for more tv news variety.
The house was not bad. For the price and location it wasn’t bad. It’s not next to a metro station but if you drive it’s close to the museums. It’s a very short drive and then you can find parking for the day for under $25/day compared to $48 round trip for metro fare for 8 people. That’s what we did and we were able to find parking lots with spaces very easily. If you want to walk the area is not great but if you are not alone it should be ok. As for the bedrooms there are really only 2 separate bedrooms. The 3rd bedroom is very small and it’s attached to one of the 2 bedrooms. So you have to go through someone’s room to access this 3rd bedroom. It’s also the room which has a bed and pullout couch. So when the pullout couch is open you have no space to move. It would only be enough for 2 children and 2 adults. So the house really can sleep 6 adults. There is also no sheets for the pullout couch so you’ll have to bring your own sheets. There was also not enough towels for everyone. There were only enough towels for 4 people. Read the other reviews and glad we brought extra towels and sheets. The communication was fragmented. On reservation the owner sent us an info package with entry codes. A month before our arrival the owner sent us another info package but with different codes and contact numbers. They didn’t work. Luckily we still had the original email so that code worked. Tried to email owner day before arrival but he never responded through email. On arrival we found some damaged things and texted the owner and he did reply. The house has some parts newly renovated and some older. It all worked and was sufficient. If you use his parking pass just double check the info on it. Ours expired halfway through the week. We didn’t notice until we left. Luckily we didn’t get a ticket. It also had the license plate of a different car so don’t even know if it was valid. Last detail you are expected to take out the trash/recycle bins to the alleyway twice a week if you’re there for the week. All in all it was okay...
Convenient DC charmer
It was a good option for the location and price. We liked the off-street parking. There was a short walk to the Metro and then a short ride to the sights. We took advantage of the stocked kitchen to cook dinners. My teenagers thought the wifi was great! Austin was very responsive to questions before and during our stay.
July in DC
We are a family of 5 — kids 22, 18 & 12 and stayed for 5 nights in mid July ‘19. We loved the place! Was a bit concerned about the property after reading a few of the more recent reviews, but quickly realized this was a great place for us! Loved the location Short walk to Metro and good diverse part of town. Very nice kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms! Would highly recommend
