Photos and Description of this Big Sky Mountain Village holiday condo

1 MBR Suite, 1 Bunkroom -2 Full/2 Twin, 2 fold-out , 2 full bathrooms.Sleeps 6

We fell in love when we saw the view of Big Sky Resort's spectacular Lone Peak, which is enjoyed from the Master Bedroom Suite, Living Room and Outdoor Deck. Combine that with the in-unit hot tub room, fireplace, plenty of space, lodgepole pine beam work and one of the best Mountains in the Rockies convinced us that we want to hang our hat here.

Slope side often requires a lot of walking, is noisy, and comes at a premium price. We're only a half mile away on the free shuttle. Take our elevator down to the heated indoor garage, and a few steps out the door you can board the free shuttle that takes you right to the Big Sky Resort entrance.

The large 'L' shaped Living Room, Dining Room, TV/Den area gives everyone space to spread out with couches, recliners and good reading lights. Or for some private time escape to the peaceful sun room for a nap, or use the desk to set-up your lap-top.

Full renovated 2016 kitchen with new appliances, laundry, internet, HD Smart TV/Blue Ray DVD/CD/VCR surround system, firewood, and a boot & glove dryer-handles 6 pair of each at once.

About Brett

I'm from a northeast skiing family. My parents met through a ski club my Dad was president of, and started me on skis at the age of 3 at Whiteface, a NY Adirondack mountain that hosted the 1980 Olympic Alpine events. This great mountain, with its 3,200 vertical drop, is where I learned to ski every type of condition, in all forms of extreme weather.

After college I got into exploring new ski areas, and started tallying all the ones I had been to. According to my Excel list I've been to 124 ski areas so far.

I have been to most major resorts throughout North America, and have started ticking off some of the more exotic ones on my bucket list in South America, New Zealand and Europe. I still enjoy the small family run operations too. For me, its just about being outside gliding down a mountain. I don't need fancy resort infrastructure and perfect groomers to have fun. That is the beauty of starting the sport in the era I did.

With all that said, my wife and I were looking for a place out West that we could take our kids to, and spend some retirement time at. I had been to all the big name mountains prior to my first visit to Big Sky which we instantly fell in love with. The mountain had every type of terrain: from the double black diamonds I enjoy now, to the type of terrain I will enjoy in my senior years. The lifts were old salvaged lifts from other ski areas. That was okay. We saw the potential and saw that Boyne was pumping money into the resort, so we bought our place in 1991, and haven't looked back since. With most new lifts replaced by high speed detachables, new lodges, and the tram to the top, this area rocks.

Throughout the years we've been slowly fixing our Montana home up, and in 2016 we renovated the kitchen and entryway completing our wish list. We have really enjoyed seeing our renters positive comments about their stay, and we will continue this labor of love to make it great for us and them.

Loved this location & views!

Views from this condo were breathtaking & the location was great. It was about a 10 minute drive into Big Sky, but close proximity to shopping/dining/grocery. Owner of property was very helpful in providing an abundance of info before our arrival, which we kept referring back to our whole stay. It included many recommendations on places to eat, which turned out to be very helpful. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! We spent lots of time fly fishing on the Gallatin River, which was about 10 minutes from the condo, and we also spent a couple of days in Yellowstone. We're already talking about coming back for skiing in the winter!

More then we hoped for!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to the Big Sky area and really didn't know what to expect. What we found was a clean, spacious, beautiful, updated, quiet unit. The view of the mountain was perfect and the location couldn't have been better. We used this location as home base for activities in Big Sky like white water rafting and also for day trips into Yellowstone. I wish we could have stayed longer but the time we had there was unforgettable.

Great Condo!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the condo during the early summer while we were adventuring out to Yellowstone. It's still a bit of a drive from the condo to the West Entrance (~45 min) but it was a beautiful drive! The condo was clean and organized. Detailed instructions were sent by the owner so it was very clear what the expectations were (arrival, operation of hot tub, check out, etc). The owner provided the "small things" like coffee filters and plastic bags which was a huge help with our group. The condo is across the highway from the ski mountain. One of my group members did leave a wallet at the condo which the owner and housekeeper addressed immediately. We would definitely recommend the property!

Very Nice Condo and Excellent Rental Experience

  • 5 of 5

We decided to visit Big Sky in late March 2016 for our annual ski vacation and found this condo on VRBO. It not only didn't disappoint, it exceeded our expectations in all areas. We found the unit in excellent condition, everything was in working order (hot tub, television, etc.). The owners didn't take any short--cuts in outfitting the unit. The view is top notch because it sits a little up on the side of a hill allowing you to look over many of the other condos located between this location and the resort. Few if any of those condos are going to offer the view that you get from this location.

The location (at least for skiing) is great in that the shuttle to the Big Sky base area runs on-time and stops about 20 steps from the exit of the condo building garage allowing you to wait inside if you don't want to stand outside while waiting. The only complaint we had about the shuttle (which isn't doesn't reflect on the condo or the condo owners) is that the buses aren't consistently labeled with route numbers so especially at the end of the day when heading back to the condo you find yourself having to ask multiple drivers whether that bus is the right one.

Dealing with the owner was also efficient. They are prompt with communications and provide very thorough information about the condo and the resort.

We would without a doubt look to return to this condo if we visit Big Sky again winter or summer.

To answer the questions suggested by VRBO:

- Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc ? Yes, the condo is accurately represented on VRBO.

- Was the property clean and well-maintained ? Yes, including the in-unit hot tub.

- Did the owner provide good customer service ? Yes.

- Would you recommend this property to your friends or relatives ? Yes.

Fantastic Experience!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I stayed at Brett and Bonnie's condo this winter while we were skiing at Big Sky. Since it was just the two of us there was ample space, however, we would definitely come back and stay with more people! We were able to take advantage of the sunroom, the hot tub and the fire place after long days of skiing. The description of the condo is spot on. When we arrived at the condo is was extremely clean and welcoming. The furnishings and the amenities were top notch. I can't remember the last time we traveled somewhere and had a bed both of us thought was comfortable. We only took advantage of the kitchen for breakfast, but they had everything we needed. We ate out for lunch and dinner using the recommendations Brett and Bonnie gave in their comprehensive welcome packet. The condo is right on the shuttle line, so it is extremely easy getting to and from the mountain. Brett was extremely communicative and very friendly throughout the entire process. If you are considering renting this condo in Big Sky you will not regret it!!! We highly recommend staying here and hope we will be able to return in the future!

First thing you will love when you get here is that you pull right up to the building, reach out your window and push the button to open the indoor heated garage. If you've ever arrived to your vacation spot in pounding snow, or pouring rain, you'll appreciate this nice luxury. Once in you'll find plenty of luggage carts (and firewood). Load-up and ride the elevator up two levels and it will open right across from our condo-easy. In-unit, dedicated hot tub room for your privacy is a plus. Tub is cleaned and filled with fresh water at check-in. Big Sky access is a half mile away on the free shuttle that picks-up right outside the Skycrest garage door and drops you off at the entrance. No long walks, no parking hassles. We always utilize the ski/board overnight check service during our vacation stay which is right at the base of the chairlifts. Wet ski boots and gloves...we have a dryer that can handle 6 pairs of both at once. Free wireless internet, TV/DVD/CD/VCR
