About Tory Killpack, Dave Killpack
This beautiful mountain retreat is owned by 5 couples who are the best of friends, and have been for over 20 Years. We built the cabin in 2006 and have been enjoying it with our families ever since. We all have families ranging in age from 12 to 75 years old. That does not include grand kids who are excited to come to the cabin every chance they get. Our families have been strengthened as we spend time together playing games, hiking and enjoying this mountain setting. We welcome you and hope that you too will fall in love with this serene and spectacular retreat.

Why Tory Killpack, Dave Killpack chose Kamas
We built in this location because of it's beauty, and the peace and tranquility we experience each time we arrive. It has year round access, and the county road is well maintained making winter access possible, as well. We have deer, moose and other wildlife that are frequently within close proximity to the cabin. The views are spectacular.

This property was clean and attractive. Our family loved the spacious kitchen. It would have been handy to have a little more frig space, but we made do with ice in coolers.
We loved the cool temperatures and beautiful scenery. We would rent this property again.
This place rocks! So beautiful and inviting.
The owners are so kind and great to work with! The setting is wonderful with a wonderful river, amazing mountains, plenty of parking and great access to trails and fishing. We went to the lake twice and it is so close and enjoyable. 4wheeling from the property was a nice bonus for us with great trails to explore. The inside of this home is first class with a nice layout, good furniture and has plenty of room. We had 17 people and it was perfect. The place is clean with nice decorations and furniture. The fire pit on the deck was so fun and we also enjoyed the large fire pit down by the stream. This place is a treasure and cannot wait to go back.
I hate to say anything to good about this house because then it will be harder to get when we want to come back. This house was perfect.
Main area was the kitchen and there was always plenty of people in there and we weren't stepping over each other. Plenty of places to sit and visit and eat.
The deck provided the perfect backdrop for our family talent show. If the kids weren't outside playing and exploring, they were down stairs playing pool. Who knew.
We were able to bring our travel trailer so the kids could sleep in that and there was still plenty of parking.
We have family that comes from Texas and California and have decided that this is going to be the place we come to every time for our reunion.
Beautiful setting in the mountains
Perfect for our small family reunion!
The house is even more beautiful than the pictures, and it was comf spacious for our party of 16. My personal favorite features were the sitting room with large windows facing the pine forest, and the spacious deck. We spent a lot of time out on the deck, whether it was grilling, taking a morning beverage out there to drink in the sunrise, or sitting out there in a group around the patio fire pit and star-gazing.
The property itself doesn't seem to be very large, and most of the land around appears to be privately owned. We went on some short walks on the nearby gravel roads, but there isn't much in the area (the stream provides nice visual and audible ambiance but is mostly inaccessible, and we didn't find any hiking trails). But the house is certainly nice enough to happily hang out in (it's well-stocked with board games, toys, and movies) and it's located within a short drive of a lot of neat things. We took a day trip to Cascade Springs, another to Mirror Lake in the Uintahs, and a visit to one of the several nearby reservoirs. Park City was also a contender, but the pretty little mountain valley setting of our retreat made us crave more nature experiences.
Only quibble is that the 9am checkout time was a bit early, since there's a lot to do on your way out of a rental property. It was a bit of a flurry, but we made it.
I would definitely recommend staying here, and if we ever have an event where we could use the house again, I would do it in a heartbeat!
all excited, but no.
My overall impression of the home and surrounding area was impressive and the price reasonable. However, upon my attempt to book this home for a family reunion on days that WERE AVAILABlE, I was told the owner wanted to stay there and therefore it was UNAVAILABLE. I was ready to pay in full and only had a question concerning a glitch on the homeaway site itself that didn't allow you to book it for the 4 night minimum stay. It would make you book it for 5 nights. I can understand that an owner wants to stay there since it is there place. However, when their home is listed as available and not blocked out for those days it shouldn't be on a rental home site unless the days are blocked out before a customer attempts to book it. We now have to start all over and hope to find something asap somewhere else.
We’re terribly sorry the property wasn’t available for the dates you requested. We realize that the dates are open on the site, and it was indeed our failing to update them for family events that threw off your plans. We recognize your frustration and apologize. Please keep in mind that this review system is for those who have stayed at the property, however we appreciate the feedback and will endeavor to do better. We hope you’ll keep us in mind for the future travel. Thank you!
The Killpack Family
Our family consisted of 12 adults and 16 children ranging in age from 12 - 1. There were enough beds for all of us. The house is quite lovely with a main floor that was large enough that we could all eat together at the same time. It was well worth the modest price.
Great place to stay during the Sundance Film festival and the Oakley Rodeo
