The Eagle's Nest offers affordable accommodations and more value for your money with its extraordinary 12,000 square feet, the largest private vacation rental home in the area. As you enter the main level great room, you immediately feel the spaciousness and luxury. The floor to ceiling windows provide natural lighting and panoramic views of the beauty in the surrounding woods. The centerpiece of the great room is the floor to ceiling indigenous limestone wood burning fireplace (wood supplied) . It is surrounded by the warmth of the leather furniture, large distinctive area rugs and natural hickory hardwood floors.
To the left is an intimate library nook. To the right are the twin dining tables (seating for 16). The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with an open concept floor plan. The L-shaped granite counter (seats 12) and is perfect for buffet style serving and/or breakfast dining. Step out onto the 115 ft. main level wood deck (tables and seating for 26), with a 52” gas grill where you can enjoy your favorite beverage, a barbeque and the beauty of the woods surrounding the property.

The Eagle’s Nest has 8 bedrooms. Six of the bedrooms have two king beds and two of the bedrooms, off the kitchen, main level, are handicap accessible with one king bed. Each bedroom is decorated with Galena themed décor, custom coverlets, pillow shams, and window coverings with room darkening feature. You will find extra blankets, down comforters and pillows. Each en-suite bathroom has a jetted tub, two sinks, and a walk-in custom designed tiled shower with 9 ft. ceilings.
There is ample room in the lower level (4000 sq. ft.). The room is set up with a 70” HD TV, pool table, poker table, air hockey, foosball, and ping-pong table. You will find a 27’ bar with (seating for 13), three pub tables (seating for 12), a bar sink, dishwasher, beverage ware, an additional full size refrigerator, and available for your convenience, a laundry room. The southwest wall opens to the 70’patio with 4 double sliding glass doors. This will welcome guests onto the furnished patio (tables and seating for 26) for alfresco dining. In the center of the patio stands the towering 60’ stone fireplace chimney. You may elect to take a walk on the designated path through the private wooded property or gather your friends/family and play volleyball on the sand court. At the end of your day enjoy the eight-person hot tub under cover in the gazebo located just off the patio or roast marshmallows over the open fire pit.

This private vacation rental home is situated at the entrance of the Galena Territory in Northwest, IL within a few hour’s drive from Chicago, Milwaukee, or Des Moines. This extraordinary 12,000 sq. ft., 8-bedroom home is the largest in the area with the main and lower levels handicapped accessible. The Eagle’s Nest encompasses twelve acres of scenic wooded property. It was designed and built to accommodate corporate meetings/events, golf/ski groups, destination family/friend gatherings, small intimate weddings and other private functions.
The main level includes a great room with conversation areas, kitchen, dining room, library nook, and 4 of the bedrooms. The great room makes up the largest portion of the main level with the focal point being the 40’ indigenous limestone wood burning fireplace, floor to ceiling windows, and natural hickory hardwood floors. On the left side of the great room is the library nook and on the right side are twin dining room tables. The fully equipped kitchen has a large granite counter top, custom solid hickory cabinetry and stainless-steel appliances; complete with cookware, dinnerware and utensils. Outside the great room, is the 115’ ft. wood deck furnished with tables, seating and a large gas grill.
The upper level includes the additional 4 bedrooms, loft areas with tables, seating, 2 computer work stations with desks and free WiFi throughout the home. A 5-1/2’ wide catwalk overlooks the entire great room. All 8 bedrooms are en-suite and include a king size bed or beds, unique Galena themed décor, a jetted tub, a walk-in custom designed and tiled shower, dual sinks, and 9 ft. ceilings. Each closet has extra blankets, down comforters and pillows.
The lower level incudes a private conference room with tables and seating for 20. The recreational area makes up the largest portion of the lower level with a 27’ wet bar with pub tables, ice machine, refrigerator, gaming tables and a 70” High Definition TV. A 70’ furnished patio entices guests outside for alfresco dining or nighttime stargazing around the firepit.
The aggregate walkway off the patio leads to the deluxe gazebo where the hot tub is located. On the opposite side of this private property you’ll find a sand volleyball court. If you choose to take a walk you’ll be guided by the designated walking path that meanders through the woods. There is plenty of year-round activities and attractions in Galena.
