Lovely relaxing stay
We had a wonderful few days at the Rainforest Estate. Julie was super helpful with checkin and also during our stay. Such a fabulous property to stay on and very comfortable. We had a relaxing and very enjoyable time.
Peace, luxury and fun
We had a family get together for a special birthday celebration. The family included under two-year olds and adults ranging from 20s to 70. As you entered through the electronically controlled gate, you arrived in your own secluded retreat! The pool, the resident birds and butterflies provided lots of opportunity for play and awe. The verandah by the pool and the large deck on the opposite side were fantastic for all the family breakfasts, lunches and dinners whether cooked by us or, on one evening, by a chef suggested by the owners. The open planned kitchen, dining room and the island benches were spacious enough to accommodate all of us. The kitchen also had an extensive range of basic ingredients, spices and cooking equipment – what a delight.
The dilemma on most days was whether to stay in our haven of the Rainforest Estate and the fun activities within a few meters of the house, or go into the spectacular areas of the Daintree, Cape Tribulation and the Great Barrier reef - all within 30-40 minutes drive from the house. With our week-long stay, we managed to have a good mix that allowed time to rejuvenate, relax and do something exciting.
All age groups loved their rooms as they had wonderful views of the rainforest, even from the luxurious showers, and yet had privacy from the rest of the house.
We had booked the pavilion - this was just fantastic for our daughter with two young ones. Having this space connected through board walks made it easy all round.
Christine – one of the owners - was very helpful and responsive to all our questions and requests, including securing two cots. She even organized somebody to welcome us and take us through the intricacies of electronically controlled lights and the surround sound.
If we need a place to escape the winter, we would not hesitate to go back to this wonderful retreat.
Beautiful Resort property
This is a little paradise sitting in the middle of the rainforest. The hostess bent over backwards to assist and help us. I am still in awe at the beauty that surrounded us. I would highly recommend Rainforest Estate!
These guests were amazing. To be honest, it rained, a lot. But they just settled in and made the most of our property - the pool, the hot tub, movies and of course some NETFLIX. We'd love to have them back so they can see our beautiful region in better weather.
We have just returned from a stay at the rainforest estate . Such a beautiful property and a great location. The whole family loved it. Spacious property and Christine and Julie made us feel very welcome. Highy Recommend.
We were delighted to have you stay with us at Rainforest Estate. It is a fantastic place for large groups to spend quality time together.
We would love to have you back again in the future.

Wouldn’t recommend this property, not worth the money, we left the property early
We booked this property with another family for our annual holiday, it looked spectacular in the photos and had an extensive list of facilities. On arrival we were told the gym and helipad were in working order and upon investigation from us to use these facilities we were told several stories and the short answer was neither of them were available. We also reported 2 out of 4 banana lounges were so badly weathered they split when we sat on them. they were to be replaced but again blaming a courier they were not replaced within our 10 day stay. So we had 9 guests and 2 poolside seats. The property has not been well maintained, the lady that met us at the property admitted the tiles were very slippery as my daughter went flying just walking on them, we all slipped and fell. She also said the pool needed resurfacing, it was like gravel under foot, and we actually have scars from getting in and out of the pool. The tiles around the pool are all loose and unsafe.
We had to wash dishes before using them as they were dirty. The tv didn’t work, the WiFi didn’t work in the pavilion.
The straw that broke the camels back was when we moved a bed in the house and there was black mold growing on it. The owner could not admit to any of these issues and in fact pointed fingers at us, the previous guests, the cleaners, the couriers etc. all we were after was an apology and compensation for the lack of amenities that were advertised.
Don’t waste your money by staying here
There were 2 families in this group. The 2nd family stayed for the full duration and told our cleaner & hostess at different times the property was fantastic & they were having a wonderful time.
There were a few minor issues but mostly not advised until after they left, so had no opportunity to rectify.
With limited space to respond fully, we say:
We supply House Rules that set out common sense safety rules. At check in our hostess went through these, including that polished porcelain tiles in the house get slippery if they get wet & children should not run inside the house, especially if wet. But 5 mins after being told this a little girl got out of the pool & ran straight inside wet & of course slipped. The tiles aren’t inherently slippery, only when wet. If “we all slipped and fell” as claimed, then they were all ignoring the house rules. Why is it hard to enforce common sense?
We were told 2 sun lounges had broken so we ordered replacements immediately. But public holidays on Fri & Mon meant they were not delivered until Tues. We acted as quickly as we could. On inspection of the damaged sun lounges it looked a lot like misuse & we have reason to believe that the 2 children used them as trampolines.
On departure we were told that 1 of the 7 TV’s had stopped working. However we had a spare in our storeroom so could have replaced it immediately if told.
We were not able to remedy problems with 2 items in the gym. 2 others worked fine.
The helipad was unusable during their stay due to inclement weather before their arrival. However had they told us of their desire to use it, prior to or at arrival, we could have made arrangements.
Not wanting unhappy guests, we refunded a portion of the rental fee, waived extra guest charges, the hire of a 2nd portacot, & cleaning charges to wash all glass doors & windows as they were covered with sticky hand prints. I don’t know what else we could have done, you just can’t please some people.
Although it might seem that Rainforest Estate needs maintenance according to this review, nothing could be further from the truth. We are always doing things to make our home a clean, safe & enjoyable place to holiday. 5 star reviews from 100s of previous guests attest to that. We always do our utmost to make sure guests have a fun filled, relaxing & luxurious holiday.
We hope you give us the opportunity to experience a very special holiday at Rainforest Estate. We guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
