Why Mitch King chose Palmyra
This Castle is one of my Personal Residents, and by far my favorite. It is the perfect place to meet with your family, or close friends. All the wood floors, cabinets, moldings, etc. were handmade and milled on sight, from wood taken from trees of this Forest!. With the four seasons the Forest is constantly ever changing its beauty. The Castle is secluded and private. It is my Place for peace and tranquility...

Dillard Family Weekend
The average $/night is a little deceiving until you get into the monthly pricing. Despite this, we LOVED our stay, young and old!! We have been here once before 8 years ago and have wanted to bring the family with us forever. Everything was as expected. We recommend it to everyone!
Cathy Loyd family weekend getaway!!!
Everything was so easy from renting the property to being able to speak to property manager. Our stay was quite comfortable with everything we needed. The castle was very nice as was the grounds. We all had such a wonderful time!!! I have told all my family and friends about the castle and would recommend it to anyone for the perfect getaway!!!
Thank you! :)
All 15 of us had a great time...will definitely come back again!
Perfect location for a family retreat!
We had an amazing time at the castle over Labor Day weekend. The house is beautiful and so unique; we constantly kept seeing different aspects we hadn't noticed before. The kids loved the secret room, and there was plenty of space, so we never felt on top of each other. But add this to the grounds, and it just becomes more amazing. The property is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed fishing and taking the boat around the lake and just enjoying the scenery. The kids loved the suspension bridge, fishing, swimming, playing basketball, running around. It was like camping but with a great house to stay in. We had ages 3-75 in our group, and a great time was had by all. The only things I would note is there isn't a lot of patio furniture, especially for the size of the home. The home has multiple balconies with different views, and it would be great to be able to sit out there on some furniture. Also, it says it can sleep 16-20, but it really only sleeps 10 in beds, plus there is a very aged sleeper sofa in the hidden room, so if you counted that, then maybe 12. Also not a lot of towels, so you would need beach towels. We had read this all ahead of time in other reviews, so we came prepared with air mattresses, sheets & pillows for the kids, and we brought extra chairs and beach towels. So I would still give this 5 stars because we were prepared for that all. But was thankful to have read that in the reviews ahead of time. I would have been upset about the sleeping situation if we hadn't came prepared, because if you have a big group it will require a trip to Walmart for air mattresses and supplies.. But if you pack accordingly, you will love this place. We just had an amazing trip. No cell service for Verizon and spotty wifi, but it was a blessing because we truly just got to hang out and enjoy the place without all the electronic distractions. And Debbie is great to work with and was responsive and addressed all our questions; she is a great property manager! Thank you for sharing this treasure we hope to be back!
Wonderfully maintained property well stocked with the cooking tools, dishes, etc that you would need to prepare good home-cooked (castle-cooked?) meals. Incredibly polite and responsive host, very secluded and private but also a short drive to get anything you might need from nearby towns. Might do with a warning sign about the bridge; it is fun but a challenge to cross and may not be appropriate for youngsters without adults nearby. Was a guys weekend for us, but already looking forward to getting some families together to do a family weekend back at the castle in a few months. I view the limited cellphone service in the castle and grounds as an absolute plus!
Thank you :)
We had a wonderful family weekend at the castle. The castle was unique and so fun to explore. We had plenty of room for everyone and it was very well stocked! As fantastic as the castle was, the castle grounds were amazing! We spent so much time outside swimming, fishing, boating, hiking walking across the suspension bridge, hammocking, and swinging! We took the pontoon boat around the lake and even got my 95 year old grandma on it! The views of the stars at night at the fire pit were awesome. The WiFi and cell service were not great, but that gave us more time to spend together. Communication with the property manager was great. The only negative we can think of is the number of fees added into the price of the castle (we wish they would be added into the average nightly fee so it is a better representation of the cost to stay there). Beautiful place and perfect for a large group!!
