The redhead next to me is my wife Ana.
We have 2 daughters who are grown and are on their own ( not really, if you are a parent you know) and a 14 pound Schnoodle ( he thinks he is a giant). We have been living in the DC metro area for about 36 years and absolutely love it. Washington DC is a beautiful city, it really is and for people coming here to spend their vacations or attend conferences, weddings, funerals (The Arlington Cemetery), graduations, sight seeing, festivals etc. etc. there isn't any city that offers so much.
I manage the properties and Ana tells me what to do (!!!) We are a great team and enjoy doing what we do.
Allen purchased this townhome in 2011

The house is in a great location with lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Beds and pillows are pretty good overall.
Adams Morgan is a fun neighborhood to be within walking distance. The location was great! If you don't mind a house that feels in need of some repair and updates, it's perfect! The space is nice and allowed our group to spread out.
Property has lots of character, and is well suited for large parties. Location is terrific if you enjoy easy access to a wide variety of food and drink. Note bedrooms with king beds face busy street, and street noise will disrupt light sleepers both early (commuters) and late (bar crowds). Fire station less than one block away is sure to disrupt too. Seemed as if sirens were in background all the time. Parking is a challenge. The property only has one parking spot, and it's small. Our minivan barely fit. We had two vehicles to accommodate our large party, and ended up parking the second vehicle in a parking garage about 3 blocks away at $30 a day. Nearly all street parking near the house is permitted, and therefore reserved. Third floor bathroom needs deep cleaning (mold under tile sealant). Overall, property worked just fine for us.
Our group consisted of six men on our annual boys trip. We each had our own very satisfactory sleeping arrangements. There was plenty of room for us to get our own space or congregate for conversation/poker. The neighborhood is beautiful and convenient, with numerous bars and restaurants within a five minute walk. It is a short and inexpensive cab or Uber trip to all the major DC sites. We didn't meet our host, but he provided everything that we required for our stay, including convenient access to the property. I highly recommend this place and would stay again in a heartbeat!
This home in Adams Morgan worked out very well for our family gathering in DC. It's quite large with good group spaces, especially the kitchen and adjoining family room area. We also appreciated having a dining room with seating for 8, which we used for take-out that we bought at nearby restaurants. The kitchen is generally well-equipped and also has some basic pantry items.
It's quite convenient to an array of stores (e.g., Safeway, CVS, Philz and Starbucks, a natural foods store, liquor store) and numerous highly-rated restaurants (e.g., Donburi, Tail Up Goat), which made it easy to grab missing items and accommodate everyone's dining desires. There is a bike share station right across the street, as well as a Circulator/Metro stop right out front. When people congregate at the bus stop at night it is audible in the 2nd floor front bedroom. The zoo is a 10-minute walk away, and even closer is a small public park with play equipment for young children. This was very convenient for the toddler in our group.
There are two open-air parking spaces on a parking pad in the rear; it's an extra $20/night charge to use one. There is also an extra charge per stay to use the gas grill on the back deck. While we did rent one of the parking spaces, we skipped using the grill as we ended up not cooking for dinner. From the numerous times that I have rented on vrbo, I'm not sure that I understand the reasoning behind this particular rental having an extra charge for use of an outdoor parking space or grill, especially given the size of the house and nightly rate; however, overall the house worked very well for us. My only specific criticism would be that the finishes and some furnishings are a bit more well-used than the photos suggest, which is a sign of a well-used and well-liked rental. A little TLC (e.g., painting, replacement of some worn items, replacement of burned out bulbs) would take this from a 4-star to a 5-star rental. A welcome binder with some general info on the home's systems and the area would also be helpful, though we didn't have any problems that we weren't able to resolve ourselves. All in all, it was a successful family reunion and we enjoyed our stay.
We rented this property for a conference at the Washington Marriott wardman. It was a convenient 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. This is a beautiful, well maintained house and we enjoyed the "local" feel we had by staying there. The large bathroom with jetted tub was perfect for several ladies getting ready in the morning at the same time. Thank you!
