Overview

Photos and Description of this Massanutten holiday house

4 bedrooms, 3 baths, sleeps 12 - big jacuzzi tub, chef kitchen, Wii & KINECT!

Welcome to Antlers Crossing -- a beautiful log home with soaring beams, luxury furnishings, and tons of entertainment options for folks of all ages!

Walk up to the house through a path of lavender. The great room features a large, antique gas log fireplace, leather sofas, comfy armchairs, high ceilings with gorgeous wooden beams. A rustic dining room and gourmet kitchen are nearby -- the kitchen has granite countertops, luxury stainless appliances, beautiful custom cabinetry, and is stocked with everything you'll need to cook for your guests. A deck off the dining room features a seating area and a large Weber gas grill for cooking out.

Two first floor bedrooms each have a queen bed (one with Westin Heavenly bed mattress) and share a full bath with an extra large tub and shower. There is also a closet with a washer and dryer.

Head up to the second floor and find the gorgeous master bedroom suite featuring a pillowtop king bed, vaulted ceiling, reading area, and a large flatscreen TV with a DVD player. It has a luxury bath with a high-end BainUltra jacuzzi tub, separate shower, and dual vanities. A loft on the second floor has a 50' HDTV with premium cable, a Sony Nintendo Wii with games for family play time, and a bookcase with a variety of books and movies for all ages.

On the lower level you'll find a large rec room with a full-size pool table, a super comfy poker/game table, a big screen tv, an X-Box Kinect play area, and lots of boardgames. A fourth bedroom on the lower level is a bunkroom style kids will love. It has 2 bunk beds made of logs - each one has a twin bed over a full bed. This bedroom has a 3rd full bath.

The lower level has a second deck -- this one, like the one off the dining room, overlooks a small seasonal stream. Relax and watch the many birds and deer in the woods.

This log home is located inside the Massanutten Resort and very close to many of the activities and amenities -- we're only about a minute by car from most of them.

We provide linens/pillows for all beds. When you arrive you will find they are all made up for you, ready to go, unlike many rental homes in the resort. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook and serve meals -- just bring your food.

We also provide a pack-n-play and a high-chair in the house for those with babies (bring your own linens for pack-n-play), and we have a full closet of toys for infants, toddlers, and young children, so you don't need to bring too much with you.

In the summer, we provide a Guest Pass so that our visitors can use the private Owners Swimming Pool in the resort - just up the road. (Guests staying at all of the rental homes in resort are charged a daily user fee at the pool.)

Non-Smoking, No Pets Property: This is a non-smoking property. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property (outside or inside). And although we understand that many pet lovers travel with their furry friends, this home does not allow pets.

About Monica

The owners are natives of Pennsylvania, but now live outside Washington, DC. They wanted a place to get away and relax, and love that the resort has so much to do all year long.

Monica purchased this house in 2010

Why Monica chose Shenandoah Valley

It's a real log home, with wood all over. It feels like a ski resort or a mountain getaway should -- different and serene. You know you're in a special place right from the moment you walk in the door.

Incredible time in an incredible house

  • 5 of 5

This place is fabulous. Plenty of things to do both in the house and in the nearby area. House was clean and neat, owner was very kind and helpful. I would highly recommend this house and owner if you are looking for a great place to spend some time. Deer everywhere when we were there and we even saw a bear!

Stay here, you will not be disappointed.

Owner's Response: Oh, no! In the six years we’ve owned the home, we’ve never had an ant problem, and we work really hard to keep it in great condition. It seems a guest left open food behind in a cabinet, but once this guest told us, we had a professional service treat the home and do a deep clean to fix it. We’ve done a couple follow up inspections to be sure the problem is solved. We want everyone’s stay to be great and always tell guests to call us right away if they find anything upon arrival that needs attention, so we can make it right for their stay. I only wish the guest had called when they were there, rather than waiting and mentioning it after they left. Most people tell us it’s the nicest rental home they’ve ever stayed in and that’s what we try to ensure for everyone who comes.

Great home base.

  • 5 of 5

Antlers Crossing was a wonderful home base for our recent vacation with friends in the Shenandoah National Park area. The home has 3 bedrooms plus a large room with 4 bunks for the kids. The home is well appointed with every amenity you will need for your vacation, including a washer/dryer. The game room downstairs was great for the kids (and adults). There was a poker table, pool table and xbox with games, as well as board games. We comfortably fit 3 families including 6 adults and 6 children. The home is located at the Massanutten resort, and is very convenient to Shenandoah National Park. The Massanutten resort is a year round resort with skiing in the winter and multiple activities in the summer. The pool pass that the owner provides allows guests to use one of the resort's pools as well as various other activities for a fee. Certain pools and amenities at the resort are not included and are only available to certain resort guests. The owner has a binder with a lot of useful information about the resort as well as the local area. We had a wonderful time visiting the area with our friends. We've know them since college and our teenage children have grown up together. Antlers Crossing provided a very comfortable, fun home base for our week long Shenandoah vacation.

Everything We needed. 3 - 7 Aug 2016

  • 5 of 5

We have used many VRBO properties and have been accustomed to not having all kitchen tools or cooking utensils needed. This was the best stocked kitchen we have ever used. The Grill was the best ever. Usually I have to take my portable grill but this is a large Weber that was more than what we needed. The property is ideally located, not to close to all the high traffic areas but close enough that everything is easily accessible. We were traveling with 4 teenage boys who were able to occupy themselves in the bottom level and not disrupting the house. The brook that was running behind the house was very relaxing to listen too in the morning and evening while setting on the deck. There are two small items that you should be aware of. The property comes with a pool pass as stated in the property description. But when we received the final information packet we found out there is also a $5 fee for each person each day to use the pool. We selected this property partly because it was implied there was no additional fee for using the pool. The outside of the property needs some attention. The front and the rear need to be picked up. Small items of trash are visible when looking off the front and rear decks. This items did not distract from the great time we enjoyed during our visit. Working with the property owner was very easy and responsive. I highly recommend this property.

The waterpark is about 7 minutes away. The Massanutten Resort is very close to Skyline Drive, Luray, vineyards, Harrisonburg (James Madison University) and lots of other touring and shopping opportunities. Charlottesville, Harper's Ferry, Lexington, Richmond, Roanoke, Staunton, and Washington D.C. are all within a 1-3 hour drive. So much to do, one visit just won't be enough!
