About the property

This peaceful western red cedar holiday retreat is situated right in the heart of North Avoca. The property is large enough for the whole family plus more with plenty of room for entertaining.

Hand feed the Lorikeets and observe the extensive bird life from your balcony.

Situated amongst swaying palm trees, this unique property is the perfect family get away! The property is spaced over 3 levels, has four spacious bedrooms plus a downstairs rumpus room with a queen sofa bed. It even features a cubby house so the kids can escape on an adventure of their own.

Level one consists of a garage, laundry with shower & toilet, and games area complete with table tennis set and home theatre room to make the most of cherished family bonding time.

The second level is home to a large kitchen, bathroom, three bedrooms and living areas that expand out on to the generously sized deck which sweeps around 3 sides of the house. Complete with BBQ and outdoor furniture, the verandah provides a perfect space to enjoy a morning coffee whilst indulging your senses with the magical sounds and views of the bird life.

Level three amongst the palm leaves, with views across the valley, is the sizeable master bedroom with king-size bed, large ensuite with spa bath & parents retreat.

A 15 minute walk along a bush track beside the lagoon takes you to the surf-patrolled beach of North Avoca. Alternatively, take a scenic walk (or short drive) to the beaches at Avoca and Terrigal. Paddleboards, kayaks, pedal boats are available for hire at the nearby Avoca Lagoon.

If you want to eat out then there are numerous cafes and excellent restaurants in the area. For shopping there is plenty of choice at nearby Erina Fair plus cinemas and ice skating rink.

LOCATION:

North Avoca is primarily a residential area developed in the 1950's. The North Avoca Beach SLSC was established in 1957 and is located toward the northern end of the beach, with its car park providing the best beach access. This area is another quiet gem but within an easy 5-minute drive to all the facilities of Terrigal and Avoca.

For a change of scenery head into busy Terrigal a vibrant cosmopolitan village offering a range of stylish cafes and restaurants from which you can watch the beach culture pass you by. Sip coffee or enjoy quintessential Australian fish & chips at the Haven or along the Esplanade. Be pampered at beautician or relax in the Lord Ashley Lounge or relax to some live music at the Florida Beach bar. Just a short drive away is Erina Fair with all the shopping one could desire as well as numerous dining options, cinema complex, ice skating and more.

Nice but poor service

  • 3 of 5

Raine & Horne Terrigal charged a processing fee and some other fee on top of the charges because we didn't go direct through them (we used this site!) They promised to waive the extra charges if I booked that day and paid a deposit. Unfortunately their computers were unable to permit this promised discount but I paid anyway (should have know it was a bad sign!) When we got there, we found the entertainment unit downstairs was missing so we let them know (I didn't want them thinking we'd stolen it). Some of our group arrived the next day and we decided that the room downstairs (which had NO window) was too musty to sleep in, so we shared the master bedroom. We did not let them know about this until we handed the key back as it was christmas and we figured there was very little they could do about this. They said we should have given them 24hrs notice of this fact to get any sort of discount. They said the Entertainment Unit was not available (which was now on their website (but not at the time of booking). The place was dusty and had insects and cobwebs. (It was obviously cleaned a long time before our arrival). Again we should have notified them asap but being Christmas we had plenty of other things to do and think about and just vacuumed the insects/webs up quickly. Someone left something behind at the house but when we talked to them about collecting it they reported their cleaners said it wasn't there when many witnesses know exactly where it was. I would NOT recommend this property based on our experience with Raine & Horne Terrigal. I found them disinterested in our complaints and because of this I have not followed up with them directly - I don't think they care- just a waste of my time - I've cut my losses and run. The room downstairs (bottom level) is inhabitable. The musty smell is so bad I'd call it a health hazard. Apart from that, it's a great sized property, the deck and kitchen/living areas were great and really well equipped and the location is great. The driveway into the garages is very narrow and steep and a bit tricky to navigate but good. If you can rent this property without Terrigal Raine & Horne being involved - go for it!
