Family, Football and Diamonds!

  • 5 of 5

Second time to meet our son here for a long weekend visit since we live several states apart. Enjoyed looking for diamonds and the first Alabama game of the season. The house is clean, comfortable and very accommodating. The lake is so beautiful and next time we plan to fish. Thanks to Ms. Martha for the delicious brownies that are a welcoming treat! We'll be back!

Peaceful, relaxing, home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fun, relaxing weekend stay! The house was very suitable for our family, we enjoyed fishing at the pond, sitting on the porch enjoying the fresh air, a short drive to the Diamond Mine and not far from the quartz mines. We would definitely return!

Beautiful house and surroundings. Fully equipped. Peace and quiet

  • 5 of 5

Perfect place to go to relax, enjoy beautiful nature. Conveniently located to attractions and other sites. Great AC. TOTALLY clean. No bugs. Gorgeous grounds for walking, checking out the pond and more. All needs are met. You get the feeling that you are at home. We will definitely return for another visit, only to spend a longer time there. We had a chance to meet Martha, and she is so caring, but while you're there, you're on you're own. Bring your clothes and food and just be ready to get lost in privacy.

Great family experience for all ages

  • 5 of 5

We really loved the house. Mrs. Martha left us brownies on the table as we arrived and they were so delicious. The pond was nice and big and the small pontoon boat added so much to the family fun and fishing experience. Unfortunately the fish were hard to catch and most of the fish we did catch were too small to keep. We would recommend that the pond be restocked. Very little activity on the water. It was a fun experience though and our youngest daughter got to go fishing for the first time. She even told me, "daddy I am really having a great time spending time with you". She melted my heart at that moment.

Only one TV in the house and no cell phone service (T-Mobile). It was nice to force the family to sit in the living room and have some family interaction. We did watch a lot of romance movies on the PLIX station. No Internet or WiFi service. Would recommend adding if possible.

The landscaping was great and there was a firepit and gas grill. They also provided digging tools for the Crater of Diamonds. Price was reasonable. We went just after it rained. They say it is the best time to go. We had fun trying, but we found everything but a diamond. Very exhausting day. Make sure you educate yourself on what to look for. Trust and believe.

Hot Springs was a short drive. My daughter became a Jr Park Ranger by completing the activity book and getting sworn in by an Official Park Ranger. That was fun. Lots of shopping.

Murfreesboro was small with a few areas to shop. The ice cream shop on the round about was delicious.

We went to the Ka-Do-Ha Indian Village was neat. They had souvenirs, Indian Mounds, mini museum, and Arrowhead digging. I found an arrowhead on the ground and got to keep it.

The water park at Crater of Diamonds was fun for all ages. Not too pricy.

****Warning****

Make sure you bring your own Alcohol: Beer, Liquor, etc... it is a dry county. It is about a 40+ min drive to grab some beer if you forget.

Nashville, AR has a Walmart, McDonald's, KFC and a few other places. If you have T-Mobile cell service, that is where you will have to travel to make a call, check Facebook, or etc... about 14 miles away.

All in all, we had a great experience and Martha was an awesome lady. The seating was comfortable and the front and back porches were nice to drink a morning coffee with family. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone of all ages. Teenagers may need to bring some personal entertainment.
