About Andrea and Chris Wait

Andrea & Chris are hard working professionals living in Charlotte NC, USA. We are adventurous types who prefer fun in the sun action packed vacations. We like to do things on our own agenda and don't prefer hustle & bustle. We have been snow skiers, water skiers, boaters, jet skiers, hikers, swimmers and fitness junkies, but scuba diving is our true passion. Diving is relaxed excitement if that make sense.

We definetely prefer nicer things, but have no interest in anything that is pompous or pretentious. Good service is always nice, but we more often prefer catering for ourselves.

We take a lot of pride in our approach to life, the impact of the choices we make each and every day, and are firm believers in karma. We strive to excel with our honesty, and to treat people fairly and with the utmost of respect. We welcome to opportunity to aid you in your vacation planing and a stay at vacation home 2B (the place 2B).

Andrea and Chris Wait purchased this townhome in 2010

Why Andrea and Chris Wait chose Curacao

We have been vacationing in the Carabbean for many years. The island of Curacao however, is the only one that kept drawing us back for repeat visits. Initially we were staying at the 'hotels' near the city of Willemstad. Without fail, we always found ourselves making daily trips to the Westpunt side of the island. The beaches, mountains, diving, north shore boca's and relaxed pace are all splenders that are unrivaled elsewhere on Curacao. We finally asked ourselves, why are we staying in Willemstad....Westpunt it the place to be! So for our next trip we researched villa's in Westpunt, stumbled upon Marazul and ultimately booked a stay. The moment we walked into the resort, we know we found something very very special. The next day, we learned that 2B might become available for sale. The thought of actually owning an oceanfront villa in the Caribbean consumed the balance of our vacation. Until now, the idea was only a dream. But Marazul was different, we felt at home. The day after we returned to Charlotte from our vacation, we contacted the potential seller, and ultimately made the purchase. We had found our dream come true and hope to share it with you as well. Apartment 2B in Curacao is the place 2B.

What makes this townhome unique

Newly expanded master bedroom suite it the resorts only townhome with such as suite. The Pergola on the upper level tiled balcony transformed the space into a perfect shaded spot to relax, dine or just soak in the ocean scenes.

Very Nice Property

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd stay at this place and we have booked it again, so needless to say, we are very happy there. The bedroom is spacious, bathroom adequate, kitchen supplied with items to cook and serve food. Love the Marazul Dive Resort. Host gives directions to grocery stores, and how to get there from the airport. If you want a quiet, relaxing place with lots of great diving and snorkeling places nearby, this is the place to stay. The property manager walks around every day and is available for any questions or if you need help with anything. We go downtown to Willemsted once or twice in a two week stay for shopping or an evening out.

Nice locale for a relaxing dive trip

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful dive trip to Curacao and Marazul 2B was an excellent choice. We were there October 4 through 18, 2016. I’m a bit slow posting because we dive travel a lot and this stay was the first of several trips scheduled fairly close together. The condo was as good as advertised, even better actually. It was clean. It was stocked with everything we needed. The grounds were lovely. The location in the complex was spot on; great views from the patio and balcony; the pool was steps from the front door; easy access to parking. The onsite staff was friendly and responsive without being overbearing. Everything about the condo and the Marazul complex enhanced the choice to stay in the friendly, rural Westpunt community on Curacao.

It’s hard to say enough about how well the physical aspects of this property met our expectations. We are divers, as are the owners, and it was clear they understood our needs from the outset. They were very responsive when it came to communication and they provided lots of info about the community as well as anticipating our diving needs. There were tubs for hauling gear, plenty of places for hanging and drying gear, regularly changed rinse tanks onsite, and an easily accessible house reef with multiple entry points. A washing machine in the condo is such an added plus when trying to limit baggage weight while traveling with dive gear.

We got exactly what we wanted with our stay at 2B. Chris and Andrea were great hosts. If you want a relaxing stay with “dive freedom,” you can’t miss here.

A Wonderfully Relaxing Week in Curacao

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our week at Marazul Drive Resort. 2B was so convenient to the pool (steps out the door), and the views of the water are amazing. The unit was well-stocked and very comfortable. The info that was provided beforehand was very helpful in picking out restaurants, etc. If you're looking for a very quiet and relaxing week, this is the place to go. The main city in Curacao is about an hour away as is most things to do other than diving and snorkeling. There is a small beach nearby that you can walk to and another a short drive away that is bigger and very nice for swimming and sunning as well as snorkeling. We're already planning on our next visit.

Views and total relaxation

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here 10 nights. The view from the balcony is just lovely. Wish they had a small fridge up on the deck so we didn't have to make trips downstairs for refills. Perfect spot for a glass of wine in the evening or coffee in the morning. The condo is exactly as advertised. The beaches nearby are some of the best snorkeling we found. The resort manager is very helpful with any questions you may have and some great suggestions too. Several restaurants close by are top ones on the entire island. We will definitely come back to this place. One of the few vacations that I regretted leaving.

I would strongly recommend if you rent a car ( and you need one on this side of the island ) that you get the insurance offered by the car rental company. We had an accident that was not our fault but we are being held responsible. Two of the local people we spoke with about it said that this is one of the ways locals make their monies. No enforced driving laws.

Beautiful property and wonderful owners!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first experience with VRBO and it could not have been easier. The owners provide all the information you need as soon as you book. So when you arrive at the resort, you simply type in the keypad number to open the gate, park near your condo and then type in the condo keypad number to enter. It was that simple! There were clear instructions on operating the washing machine, air conditioner, etc. The condo is wonderfully maintained and beautiful, the balcony off the upstairs master is a vacation unto itself!

The resort manager is very friendly, he is out and about every morning if you ever need anything. The resort is very well maintained. The other vacationers/owners were very friendly - the atmosphere is great for families. There were no loud parties at the pool or anything like that.

We would definitely stay at this condo again!

great view

  • 4 of 5

The view from the upper terrace is really as beautiful as shown in the picture, and the wooden table/chairs are very nice (I do hate plastic). We had breakfast there every morning. The pool area is situated in a nice setting with the palm trees and the many colourful bouganvilleas. We liked the many beaches in the area very much, but you need a rental car to get around otherwise you might get bored. Willemstadt is very nice to visit, and you need to get to the supermarket near by.

We had many great snorkeling/diving experiences. The best was at the Coral Reef Estate with its supernice diving school and an excellent restaurant (no sandy beach though but nice sunbeds on sand at the rim - and great cocktails).

When we arrived at the house the electricity was off, and we had to put the fuse in, but the fridge needed at least 8 hours in the heat/humidity to get cold - so we had to throw away some of our meat - that was bad timing.

The bed as well as the sofa sleeper were very comfortable, but the air conditioning in the bedroom is situated right above the bed and the cool draught (at a setting of 25 degrees celsius) was a bit of a problem (for us - it might not be so for everyone).

We only had one towel for the beach as well as one big and one small towel for the whole week and when we tried the office for a change it was closed (I have to admitt we are no early risers and didn´t try before noon). But we used the washing machine in the house (only usable with cold water), so it was o.k..

Owner's Response: Hello Monika, thank you for taking the time to write a review of our property. We are sorry to learn the power at our end of the island was out at your arrival. These things are unfortunate and out of our control. However, we agree that the fridge seemed to take a long time to recover, so we just installed a nice brand new full size fridge. We are on the island right now and found the new unit cooled our warm drinks much quicker then the old unit. This is a welcome improvement. We agree that if the bedroom airco is operated with the louvers pointed down it will blow on the bed. The louver position is easily settable with the remote control. When positioned in the upward direction, it does not blow on the bed at all. Perhaps our old remote control was difficult to understand how to operate, so we just changed it over to more simple remote. The louver positioning instructions are now very clear and we are adding these instructions to our check-in documents. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We used it last evening and it worked very nicely, Speaking of airco, we just installed a brand new unit in the lower level as well. It operates very quietly and quickly. We are also enjoying our new doors and windows, much nicer then the old ones. Sincerely, Andrea & Chris .
