About the property

Centrally located, roomy, comfortable, quiet, cheerful, plenty of light

Located in Via dell'Orso, 28. 150 meters from Piazza Navona. VERY QUIET! Powerful and quiet A/C in each and every room; independent heating. Ideal for 2 couples + friends or a family with children + friends. 120 sq meters, 3 bedrooms, 3 ensuite bathrooms, a very large living/dining room. Quiet, airy, bright (windows look south). In the heart of Rome, yet away from it all, thanks to its location on the first floor of a small building at the end of the large courtyard of this very private palace.

And you can sleep with your windows WIDE OPEN, no noise from the street!

Location, roominess, comfort, quiet, style, plenty of light. Here you are at the center of the center; after a full day visiting Rome, you do not feel like travelling to some distant neighborhood. Wherever you are, you'll enjoy a short walk back home to enjoy the quiet and comfort, to find it dry and cool during summer and warm and welcoming in winter. Relax watching TV in your language in every room, or listen to the radio while organizing your activities, checking your mail or talking over Skype to your beloved ones back home! Prepare your dinner at home, or enjoy traditional roman food in many nearby restaurants. You will find suggestions in the apartment that will help you stay away from tourist eateries.

Within 100 m: foodstore, wineshop, 24 hrs bakery, tobacco shop, international newsstand, barber shop (remember Julia Roberts in Eat, Pray, Love? THAT barber shop); several restaurants, Laganà, Fiammetta, La Campana, Alfredo (my preference is in that order) all serving good roman food; a taxi station 50 m away and two bus stops.

Subway is 700 m, 10 min away.

Try La Sagrestia, Via del Seminario (Pantheon).

Campo di fiori, Piazza Farnese and surrounding area: plenty of bars and restaurants!

Via della Pace: Caffè della Pace, Bar del Fico - bar, drinks, tea - very trendy!

Piazza San Lorenzo in Lucina: sit outside, have drinks, lunch or dinner. Near the Via Condotti shopping area.

Wonderful Apartment in Perfect Location on Via dell Orso in Rome

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 16 and 12 of our group stayed in the two apartments, Grand Orsetto and Orsetto. These apartments worked perfectly for our group.

What we liked most about the Orsetto;

1. Location, Location, Location. Located on quaint street—Via dell Orso. Close to Piazaz Navona, Tiber River, Campo de Fiori Market, 100 hundreds of good restaurants, easy walk to the main attractions (The Vatican, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, the Collosseum/Roman Forum and the Bridge of Angels) in Rome. And most importantly, 300 yards from Giolitti’s, the best gelato shop in the world. Plus 100 yards from a taxi stand.

2. The apartment is large. The common area/dining area of the apartment were big enough in both apartments for our entire group.

3. The three bathrooms are all first rate. The beds were all comfortable. The kitchens was well equipped. There are two excellent bedrooms in this apartment and one bedroom is smaller (good for one person or for a short stay)

4. The owner has invested a lot to have some of the best air conditioning in Italy which was great because it was extremely hot (95 degrees) when we were there. Every room in the apartment was extremely cool with each having there own AC unit.

Our recommendation in Rome;

1. The normal places you would go to anyway—the Vatican, St Peters, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, the Collosseum, and Roman Forum.

2. The Gallery Borghese with three of the best Bernini sculptures in the world,

3. The Capitoline Museum with amazing Roman sculptures and integrated into the Rome Forum with great views and wonderful rooftop restaurant.

4. Gioliotti’s for gelato every day

5. Fiori de Campo to do your shopping for fresh produce in Rome’s best market.

6. Bernini restaurant in Piazza Navona. Wonderful food.

7. ParmAromA restaurant near the Pantheon. The best food we have had in Rome—great filets, scallopines and pasta.

Perfect location and great apartment behind the HUGE door on the cutest street.

  • 5 of 5

Our family (with 3 college kids) just returned from our amazing Western Mediterranean trip. Our first stop was Rome and we stayed at Orsetto for 4 nights. Iryna met us promptly and showed us everything. The little market steps away was perfect for picking up a few things. We were on the go all day and was within walking distance to everything!!! My husband and daughter love to run and took off exploring every morning. The washer and dryer was a must for us and worked out perfectly!! I packed my own tide pods and dryer sheets. Our friends stayed close by in a pricey hotel and couldn't believe what we paid and the size of the apt!! The 3 bedrooms with 3 on-suite huge baths were just perfect. We all had our privacy and space. The beds and showers were fabulous as well as the A/C!!! Advice for others visiting... pack Tide pods and dryer sheets. You will never need a taxi. Don't eat in Piazza Navona, cut down a side street, its magical and lots cheaper and better food!! Our kids explored on their own and we never worried. Super safe area. We can't wait to come back. Hope our Trevi Fountain coin toss comes through!

Location is perfect!!!!

  • 5 of 5

The six of us were very happy with our week spent in this apartment! The 3 bedrooms are actually larger than they appear online – especially the smallest bedroom. Having a washing machine and dryer was terrific especially after arriving after a week and a half elsewhere. The apartment is light and bright and well-equipped.

But the best part of this apartment is its location. We could've stayed on just this alley and had all of our needs met! Directly across the street was a fabulous little pizza café; a few feet to the left was a great spot for morning coffee; travel a few more feet to the left to find a fabulous restaurant Ristorante Orso 80( we had 3 meals here including a delicious Sunday antipasta lunch and all were terrific!); another few steps and you come to our second favorite restaurant , Lagana (2 meals here including a birthday celebration for which the owner went out of his way to help us celebrate in style !). In addition to those fabulous restaurants and several others, there is a stunningly beautiful church, a small market, a barbershop, a jewelry shop, an art/gift shop, and a bakery all within a quarter of a mile! The location is also a 15 minute walk to the Spanish steps and Navona Plaza.

We all highly recommend this apartment!

Close to Everything!

Perfect location. So close to Navona, Pantheon and river. Lots of neighborhood restaurants.

Don't forget to empty the water from dryer before using. Not something I was familiar with at home.

Three lovely bathrooms.

Orsetto is the Gold Standard

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in March, 2017. I have two adult children and each had their own private bedroom and bath en suite, which was important factor in selecting this location. That and the overwhelming positive reviews by the guests and owner Fillippo's responses.

I left a phone message with Iryna before we arrived at the apartment. We weren’t sure how to enter the outer door, but were later shown which buzzer to push on the wall. (Who knew?) Iryna was terrific, and spent a long time showing us around and making us feel very comfortable.

The apartment is spacious and comfortable and very clean. It was a peaceful and tranquil setting. NO street sounds whatsoever. The washer and dryer came in very handy, as we had been travelling a week before arriving. We picked up a few things at a small grocer up the street and cooked a meal for the kids when they arrived. It was just like home!

It is such a lovely and convenient location. (We walked to the Vatican.) The restaurants on the street or nearby were all great, with Ristorante Laganà being a standout.

This was our first VRBO rental and was definitely the standard we now use to judge other places. This one was tops!

PIAZZA NAVONA is one of the grandest piazzas in Rome, a triumph of baroque art, where Bernini and Borromini challenged each other with their formidable masterpieces. The fountain of the Four Rivers by Bernini faces the great church of Sant'Agnese in Agone (St. Agnes), by Borromini. Nearby, in Corso Rinascimento, Borromini built one of the finest examples of Baroque, the magnificent church of Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza (St. Yves), inside the National Archives Palace. Don't miss it!

Piazza Navona is busy all day, except in the early morning, its best time.

VIA DELL'ORSO is a characteristic street of old medieval Rome, prior to the baroque period. It is a limited traffic street, very quiet, and yet very close to most visiting sites.

From there you can easily reach your destinations, all within walking distance: Piazza Navona (150 m), Pantheon (600 m), Trevi fountain (1 km, 10 min), Campo di Fiori (800 m), Saint Peter (2 km), Castel Sant'Angelo (800 m, 9), Spanish Steps (1 km), Tiberina Island (1.7), the Ghetto (1,2 km), Capitol (1.6 km, 20), Colosseo (2,1 km, 25), Ara Pacis (700 m).

Taxis to/from airport have fixed rate (7.00am-11.00pm); at night the rate is by the meter.

Private pick up service to/from airport to Orsetto (3 to 8 people) is in the range of € 50/75.

Train from the airport to Rome costs € 14/person.

Taxi from station to Orsetto costs about € 15.

For City transport, please check this web page in english: It includes subway and buses. It may help you plan your stay in Rome.
