Wonderful trip

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time on our one week cruise on Sea Witch in the Virgin Islands. Captain John and First Mate Susan are a pleasure to travel with. John knows the waters there like the back of his hand and Susan is a world class chef, whipping up terrific meals in a galley that seems far too small for most people to make a peanut butter sandwich. They are both dedicated to providing guests with a wonderful experience, and obviously enjoy interacting with their clients. Our cruise was more like a trip with close friends. The boat itself is spacious, comfortable and very well maintained. We would go back tomorrow.

Unbelievably comfortable and memorable experience!

  • 5 of 5

Looking for a vacation filled with fabulous activities, sunshine, sailing and delicious food? Aboard Sea Witch you will be with John and Susan, knowledgeable of Caribbean waters, eager to snorkel, fish, hike and involve you with sailing. They listened to our desires and designed a memorable vacation that our teenagers thoroughly enjoyed, along with their parents. We snorkeled with turtles, octopus, colorful fish, hiked to the bubbly baths and saw goats, hermit crabs and nests of termites. White sandy beaches and sunny Caribbean days were filled touring island sights, enjoying beach bars and relaxing when we were not sailing. Our children were also able to complete their dives and earn their scuba license. Daily, Susan prepared delicious meals and served refreshing island beverages. She incorporates local fruits and vegetables and sets her table with a nautical theme. John and Susan are a safety conscious, fun loving couple that graciously include you into their home/sailboat, the Sea Witch, providing everyone a vacation of a lifetime. Can't wait to return!

Beautiful Boat, Beautiful View, Beautiful People

  • 5 of 5

As a family, we decided to make the holidays more about experiences and less about gifts. How fortunate we were to come across the Sea Witch while researching sail boats in the US and British Virgin Islands. We coordinated our charter with Susan over 9 days in December and visited various islands throughout the area. Our hosts Captain John and Susan were so incredibly kind, knowledgable and gracious. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the Sea Witch and its character and grace, to the cuisine (still can't imagine how Susan cooked everything in that tiny galley!!), to the confidence we had in Capt John, to the careful attention to details - it was all first class! We quickly felt like old friends and appreciated all the consideration to our happiness. One of the best family vacations we've ever experienced - hope to do it again!

A Slice of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I chartered Sea Witch and crew for four nights in the US and BVI's to celebrate my 60th birthday. We visited Norman Island, Jost Van Dyke and a couple of remote spots on St. John. Captain John is an extremely capable, knowledgable and experienced sailor. Susan kept the boat in shipshape and served up one delicious meal after the next. They were both very gracious, welcoming hosts and very generous with providing information about Sea Witch, sailing and all the areas we visited. They were very accommodating to our desires with respect to activities and schedule. Sea Witch is a beautiful vessel - heavy, seaworthy, comfortable, well equipped and adorned with teak woodwork throughout for a classic feel. Any concerns that I had about spending days aboard a boat with a couple I had never met fell away instantly upon meeting Susan & John. We quickly felt like old friends, laughing, sharing stories and meals and giving each other all the space we needed when we wanted quiet time, all without the slightest awkwardness. I would not hesitate to recommend the Sea Witch for a charter in the Virgin Islands during the winter or in it's summer home at Martha's Vineyard. We look forward to sailing on her again!

Captain John and Susan are wonderful but their passion and willingness to share the beauties of the Virgin Islands is the best part.

To see the islands aboard Sea Witch is beautiful and is the only way to do it. Sea Witch is a sailing charter and you will learn as you enjoy the adventure. The food was better than any restaurant and the accommodations were spacious and comfortable. First Class operation and adventure.

Communication was very important to insure that Sea Witch crew could understand your expectations and the more information you can share the better they can insure that you will be happy.

This is a sailing adventure and you are affected by weather but go with a free mind

Your safety is Captains John and Susan's first and foremost

Great little coves and islands and great food await your trip and you will enjoy especially if you are looking for a great way to see the islands

My wife and I enjoyed our trip so much and have many memories of beauty and laughter to last forever

What a wonderful week of living right!

  • 5 of 5

We wanted a wonderful quite, fun, peaceful, scenic, slightly pampered get away week of sailing around the Virgin Islands. (We are seasoned travelers and wanted off the grid for a week- well not entirely- we did peak at iPhones a bit.) I had taken a similar sail in 2012 and really enjoyed the trip, so my expectations were high for Deborah and me. This was my 7th time to St John area. Cap'n John and Susan were most accomodating in every way. The boat is wonderful- very comfortable with plenty of privacy for the two of us. Sleeping with the hatch up and being awakened by gentle rain drops in the night was a special treat. Deborah and I even saw a shooting star at 2.00 am as we were sitting up top taking in the beautiful night sky. The boat was always tidy and well-maintained, but we felt right at home, not like stepping into a museum. We stayed in some incredible bays during the nights and experienced the fun of sailing in these waters. Cap'n John and Susan generously showed us some of the local venues for eating and socializing. Watching the super bowl on the beach with the friendly group was most memorable. Susan guided us on a few hikes and provided just the right of explanation of the history. They gave us the space we sought but also I felt like we were sailing with 2 new friends. Did I mention that the food was fabulous! I'm recommending the Sea Witch to my friends and next time (not soon enough) we go back to the Virgin Islands, for sure we are calling Cap'n John and Susan. I highly recommend the Sea Witch.
