Comfortable, quiet, and homey.

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was a quiet place to get away, and had many household items already there and available for use. We had a great time with friends, celebrating our 25th anniversary's. We appreciated the fact that you were making cosmetic updates to the cottage; however, other's may want to be informed of this before they rent the cottage. Thanks for the well needed quiet get away.

Cabin was comfortable and well furnished.

We didn't realize that there was no air conditioner but weather was cool so it worked out. Lots of fans available. For one problem we contacted owner, Mike and he was available. Cabin needs some work. But fit our needs very well. It is in a great location.

Beautiful grounds, loved the wrap around deck, well equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds.

Overall we were happy with the property and its proximity to duluth. The cabin was in need of some upkeep as there was unfinished sheetrock work, and basement closet was wet with some wall mildew which we made Michael aware of- it had been a very rainy day though when we discovered the mildew and Michael said he'd be at the cabin the next week to take care of it. Also the washer wasn't working which was a disappointment when we would have liked to wash beach towels, swimsuits etc. Overall though it's a very nice and comfortable cabin. Loved the outdoor space and all the room inside the cabin. We would definitely recommend it to our family and friends and would stay again ourselves!

Property was suitable for a family of 9, everyone had a place to sleep...

  • 4 of 5

Everyone had a great time, a place to sleep, and a place to rained half of the time, so we were unable to walk the path to see the waterfall..😢..

It helped create many memories, the smell if the bonfire, the smell of the charcoal grilling the food, the laughter from the kids playing on the deck, and enjoying great family time..

We could see where you were trying to do some remodeling, once done will be Beautiful.

Thanks for the memories made...

Many blessings,

the Truckenmillers and Dunns

We stayed 3 nights and had a very good time. The cabin is in a very quiet, wooded area but still close to Duluth. Lots of parking too which is nice. We went to Island Lake for swimming & canoeing which is about 20 minutes away. The cabin has a huge deck and the beds are very comfortable. It's not fancy, but has everything you need and for a reasonable cost. You do have to do some cleaning but other places have a $75-100 cleaning fee so if you don't mind a little extra work you'll save money.

Overall a good stay.

This fit our large group well and didn't feel cramped. It was close to Duluth to go and do activities in town. We did have a heavy rain the one night and got water in the finished basement. This was pretty inconvenient as our kids had their suitcases on the floor and everything got wet. I called Micheal and he did have his neighbor come over right away. The neighbor was more concerned with the storage room clean up then the actual living space. Our kids cleaned up a mass majority of the water in the living space. When I had called Michael he stated this was the first time it had ever happened. His neighbor on the other hand stated this happened last year at nearly the same time and that the one side of the house just needs to be ripped off and redone which is a plan for the future. Some compensation for the inconvenience would have been nice.
