About Black Bear Rentals - Anthony Rauseo, Manager

I have been visiting Maine since 1984 and finally in 2004 bought my first piece of land and built my own vacation home. The Sebago Lakes region of Maine is home to fantastic beaches, boating, fishing, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, tubing etc.

If here during the winter be sure to take a Belgian horse sleigh ride !

Fabulous Accommodations & Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Can't say enough good things about our stay @ Black Bear Cabin! From the time we arrived to the time we had to unfortunately leave we enjoyed all the amenities & surrounding area. The Cabin is perfectly situated and simply decorated to give you that mountain cabin feel, with all accommodations you could need and/or want. Right down to the lobster pot for local fair and conveniently located towels for our morning coffee & evening wind down hot tubs! We're glad to have taken advantage of the kayaks to enjoy the lake and the fire pit to hang out and relax while gazing at the stars. We were fortunate enough to be in such a secluded place to take in a meteor shower.......wow!! A day trip to OOB, for sunning & funning, a trip to Portland for lunch @ DiMillo's floating restaurant and taking in the sights. We even ventured to Freeport, stopping in to Maine Craft Distilling (yummm) and Petrillo's for amazing food. Then off to N. Conway for some shopping & poking! the Muddy Moose did not disappoint.

Overall........consensus says, this was one of the best vacations we've had thus far! We would highly recommend Black Bear Cabin to any of our family, friends and acquaintances.

Thank you Rauseo family ~ We can't wait for the next visit!

John, Brenda, Lexie & Bella too!

Absolutely perfect home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin completely exceeded our expectations! The cleanliness, the amenities, the décor, and all the thoughtful extras the owners provided were so much better than we could've asked for. With all the levels, rooms, exterior & interior areas to entertain, it was much more spacious than we needed. During our stay, we emailed the owners with a couple questions, the amazing response time & customer service were very impressive. We would definitely recommend this property to others & will definitely stay again!

Very nice cabin. Loved Maine and plan to come back again.

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is perfect location for a first time visit to ME. You are just an hour or so from the coast, mountains, and various lakes. The only reason I didn't give the cabin a 5 star is because it could have had more furniture in living room. We would come back again. Very clean and well kept.

Excellent Property

  • 5 of 5

I was thoroughly pleased with this property. It had all the space we needed and had all the necessary essentials including the kayaks and hot tub. It was close enough to get to town in 10 - 15 minutes, but secluded enough where you felt away from everything. Very quite location. Definitely will consider renting again.

Beautiful home, great time had by everyone

  • 5 of 5

The property itself was great, we went with a family of six. Plenty of space, we all loved the hot tub, the kayaks proved to be a hit, and we didn't have to bring much.

Just to be aware, for families with small children, you do have to drive to do anything more than be at the cabin, the lake, the town, attractions in Maine or NH. The river is relatively close, but in mid August the water levels were really low and you can't fish or boat. Maybe that's different in the spring.

Crystal Lake was nice in the town of Harrison, with a small, clean beach.

We also discovered the small, local farms late in the week, and liked visiting them for some fresh milk, eggs, and veggies.

Recommended highly, just plan your activities in advance.
