About Charlotte Perry

My business is LUXbnb, we offer short-stay properties in wonderful neighborhoods in Northwest Washington including those areas in high demand by visitors, i.e. DuPont Circle, Georgetown, Palisades and Capitol Hill. You can view some of our other studios and homes for stays from 4 nights up to 8 months; see HomeAway # 914007, 3495967, 3495973, 3495995, 3495973, 3496279, 3496282, 3496283 and 3496278 for details. Let us know your travel plans and we will find the best fit for your needs. Be generous and share the knowledge of LUXbnb, your source for short-stay rentals in Washington, with your friends, family and colleagues.

Our latest addition are vacation properties for Washingtonians. See the Washington Vacations section on our website for homes in the nearby mountains. Take a few days away from the bustle of the city to explore our bucolic countryside little changed over the past 2 to 3 centuries. Visit wineries and orchards, significant Civil War battlefields and historic towns, hike the Apalachian Trail or follow in the footsteps of our founding fathers by visiting their homes. There is plenty to do that beckons you to leave the city for a weekend or a week.

A bit about me...I am a former Californian who, after 12 years in DC, is now an honorary Washington native. Being well traveled both domestically and internationally has given me a great appreciation for the enrichment contact with others brings to our experience. I am well-versed on the 'must-see' sights, monuments and museums of our culturally rich city, along with the unique experiences your find only in Washington. We share that insight with our guests in our property Welcome Guides which we send upon confirmation.

We very much enjoy hosting visitors to our Nation's Capital and ensuring that they are able to make the most of their visit.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

Bird's nest was a perfect base for us to launch our DC adventure. We felt

very safe and enjoyed being able to walk to coffee or groceries in the neighborhood. We were in the city to visit American University, so the location was ideal (and since our daughter has decided to go there we will for sure be back.) The place was clean and we really appreciated having a washer and dryer in the apt.

Reviewer Comments:

My boyfriend and I had an amazing weekend here. The town is right next to Georgetown, which has amazing restaurants. We took the metro into the city, which generally took 30 minutes, however the route was so beautiful it went by quickly. Matthias was awesome, we didn't get to see him but the room had everything we needed. He is quick to answer concerns via text. The mattress was tough to sleep on, but by the end of the day we were so exhausted so it didn't matter much. We will definitely be back!

Reviewer Comments:

I stayed in the unit with my three children. I didn't read the fine print that this was a studio apartment. I selected it over others because of the number of beds available and cost. Overall, we had a great stay and the unit suited us just fine. It came with all that we needed-- beds, hot shower, and basic kitchen necessities. We hardly spent any time in the unit itself other than to sleep and shower but it was perfect and well priced. Pros: As a past DC native, I thought this was the perfect location for our stay. Quiet and safe neighborhood with beautiful homes. It is a short drive or uber to Georgetown, the museums, and other trendy areas. There are family friendly restaurants in walking distance (one place two doors down), a grocery story and Starbucks a short walk. We had a car and found unrestricted parking each night. Everything you need is in the unit-- coffee maker, dishes, small fridge, small eating table, etc. Host was very friendly and not overbearing or intrusive. Cons: It is a studio apartment - one room with all the beds, one sink in the bathroom where you wash hands and dishes. The unit is probably only suitable for families traveling with children or two adults. The loft has a small twin bed fit for small children, the couch/sofa bed is a futon a bit smaller than a full size bed but my 15 year-old son fit just fine. The queen bed was a bit uncomfortable for my taste. Parking at the unit was available during our stay but it was $10.00 per night.
