About Nick and Jill Frezza

Jill and I live in New Jersey, have 2 kids and have been married for 24 years. We believe vacations are precious and want you to stay at a 'home' not just some vacation house.

Nick and Jill Frezza purchased this chalet in 2012

Why Nick and Jill Frezza chose Poconos

This is our second house on this lake(check out HomeAway #202448). When this house came up for sale I knew we had to have it. It was foreclosed and empty for 2 years. But had a lot of potential. Almost every part of this house is new... furnace, hot water heater, stove, refrigerator, paint, carpet, roof, etc

What makes this chalet unique

Location, Location, Location. Whether it's boats in the summer or just not having houses in your back yard have a house on the lake makes all the difference.

Wonderful Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a lakefront home to spend a week with our daughters and their husbands. The location of this house was perfect. It was on a beautiful lake that only allows electric motors, eliminating the hum of boat motors and jet skis. It is also located near many state parks providing endless hiking trails. Our one daughter and husband were lucky to see a black bear at the Delaware Water Gap, and unlucky to see a rattlesnake at Promised Land State Park. There were also many deer in the gated community. One several occasions we saw a pair of bald eagles fishing in the lake, and sitting in the trees along the lake shore. Driving in the area around Tobyhanna we also saw deer and wild turkeys.

More about the house. We have stayed in many mountain and lake homes. We have always had ants or bugs or spiders. We had none of that at this house. The house was clean and had everything you would need. They also advertise a gas grill. Again, in most of the places we have stayed, the grill was a disaster. In this case, they have a Weber grill and again, it was very clean, worked very well, and had a full tank of gas with more in the garage. There is a nice deck out back overlooking the lake and a nice grassy area to play yard games. The fire pit is down towards the water and there are plenty of chairs to sit around the fire, as well as all the wood you need to have a fire. The dock is nice, and they have a paddle boat, three kayaks (one with a nice fish finder), and a boat with an electric motor.

The fishing was pretty good. You could drift just about anywhere and catch yellow perch, the biggest of which was about 15-16 inches. We also caught several pickerel during the week. And the best part about the lake was it was never busy or full of boats and kayaks.

We can't say enough about how Nick and Jill take care of their property and want their guests to have a wonderful time. We want to thank them for sharing their house with us and for providing such great accomodations.

Interesting Spot!

  • 4 of 5

Let me start by saying that the house is really nice and everything works!

We stayed in mid August and did not have any need for AC so we haven't touched it.

The backyard, the boats, and kayaks were all in good order except for the oars to the little aluminum boat that were kinda beaten up but made no difference to me personally.

Owners even provided minnow catcher that was a nice surprise.

The firewood was provided and we used the fire pit basically daily (except for a few rainy days) which was a lot of fun!

The lake is pretty small but quiet (unless you get loud neighbors). The maximum number of water vessels being out at the same time I've ever witnessed was roughly 7.

During day time there is not really much to look at besides a pair of bald eagles trying to catch a fish but on a clear night the view of the stars from the dock is breathtaking.

Swimming was a little hard for us since the bottom near the dock was very rocky and feet would sink into the dirty bottom of the lake. Plus it was very shallow going even far into the water so you had to use some inflatables (were provided) to swim out which was problematic for us personally with a little baby.

We also got a little unlucky to have a construction project going on daily (even Sat) at the neighbor to the right which interfered with our serenity enjoyment but this has nothing to do with the owners of course.

Besides the two negatives, everything else was great. And you just cannot beat the proximity to Philadelphia; one way was only 2 hours! I think this is the closest we ever traveled for a week of vacation!

Fishing in the lake was slow (I would blame the weather for that) but you will catch bass, perch, and pike regardless of how bad the weather is right across from the house, so no need to search the entire lake, good spot is right next door!

Overall, we liked it here and would recommend the house to our friends.

Another great vacation!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd stay at the lake house and it was just as fabulous as our first stay, except for the weather (oh well), it rained on/off through the week, but we made the best of it. We were able to do some fishing on the dock and on the boat, my husband caught about 10 fish through the week. He was a happy man!

When the sun finally came out we took a ride to Bushkill Falls and did a 2 1/2 hour hike. Mostly it was a relaxing vacation with friends. We enjoy staying here, we hang out by the fire pit at night and on the lake during the day. Oh and get the pizza from Nino's it's delicious!

Thanks Nick and Jill, you have a super clean house. I'm sure we'll be back again.

A Quiet Place to Relax

  • 4 of 5

My family loved our stay at this wonderful lakefront home. We especially appreciated its location to all of the major activities in the Poconos and the kayaks to use in the lake. The home is very comfortable and clean. I recommend it for anyone looking for a quality place to stay. Lots of wild life to see out the windows.

Great time on the lake

  • 4 of 5

We loved the house! We were on the lake all day every day! There were so many things to keep our adventurous kids busy-kayaking, paddle boat, fishing, ping pong and air hockey. The only times they used their phones were to post pictures for their friends : )

Wal-mart was right down the road for all of our needs. The house had all the kitchen equipment we needed to make our day easier including a grill and a fire pit.

The scenery was beautiful! We had daily visits from deer, with turtles and even a bald eagle on the lake. We just left and everyone is asking me when we can go back.

I didn't give 5 stars because of some issues with the welcome center and the surrounding community. We will be back again

Owner's Response: Bernadette, We are so glad you enjoyed our house, lake, and all our amenities. Although we don't understand how issues with the welcome center and community should be any reflection on us, we do appreciate you taking the time to write a review and we'd love to have you and your family back again. Great location on the lake

  • 4 of 5

My family and I enjoyed a weekend in May at this lake house. First the pros: what a great location, right on the lake, no streets to cross and amazing sunsets right from the back deck. Also right down the road is a playground which my 3 year old grandson took advantage of and the sand beach. The kyacks, rowboat and paddle boat were used everyday, We were also able to fish right from the dock. We did have to call Nick twice and he was always available and helpful, once for directions and the second for air conditioner instructions. As always there are some cons. The house could have used a good power washing and the lawn could have been mowed. We did notice that a lot of houses in this development could have used the same. The rowboat and paddle boat both leaked...a lot. The upstairs where the bedrooms are located was always warm sometimes uncomfortably so even with the air conditioner turned on.

We did have a good time as a family so the pros definitely outweighed the cons.

Owner's Response: Hi Eileen, Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We strive for 5 stars so getting a 4 star review is a little disappointing. Glad we could help you find the house when you got lost, and walk you through turning on the AC. We wish you would have call about the other issues so they could have been resolved. We're glad you enjoyed all our amenities. Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer. Thanks, Nick and Jill
