About Owner/Property Manager

My wife and I first came to Savannah in 2005. We sold a small rental home we owned in Peachtree City, GA and decided to re-invest in a rental home along the eastern coast. The search was on and it started in Savannah and we worked our way up past Charleston. At the end of the search we came to the realization that we love the look the feel and the general laid back vibe of Savannah.

In general I would say that our top ten reasons of why we love Savannah are below:

Awesome home & location

Perfect location - fronted on bay street. We stayed on the 1st floor w/ (2) bedrooms. The decor is very classy & the place itself was very clean. Bedrooms were fairly large and had plenty of closet space. Everything you need is there. Small courtyard right outside our apartment was perfect. The best part was the parking spot in the back - off the street.

Apartment is located within walking distance of many restaurants and bars. It is one street up from River street. However - right next door, literally steps away, was an outdoor bar area if you wanted a cocktail or food. (Treylor Park) When we first arrived we were nervous about the bar ..thinking it would be noisy at night. We heard nothing !!

Some recommendations : About a block over and up - was a small restaurant called Henry's that we went to for a quick, great breakfast. Decor is not the best but the service and food were good and pretty reasonable. We walked a few blocks over on bay street to B. Matthews for dinner. Very eclectic food and had small plates so that you can order and share. Definitely do the "tourist thing" and get ice cream at Leopold's. Worth the 1/2 hour wait online.

City Market is also a must to stop at - lots of stores and restaurants. Don't forget to visit Savannah Bee (sample honeys).

Tours - Wasn't too thrilled with our choice of haunted tour - we did the hearse haunted tour and our vehicle kept stalling. The whole tour was kind of "touristy and cheesy". We did, however, like the Oglethorpe City Trolley tour. Great way to see the historic downtown in 90 minutes.

All in all - we would highly recommend the Oglethorpe Lodge. Cannot beat the location or the accommodations. Great communication from the rental office. We will definitely book here again and will tell everyone.

Absolutely Perfect!

This was perfect for our annual girls trip! Located in the heart of Savannah it is in walking distance of everything you may need. The kitchen is the perfect size for prepping simple meals and appetizers (It's awesome not to have to go out every meal!). We can't wait until this year's trip to Savannah and hope to stay at the Oglethorpe Lodge again this year!

Great Rental in Historic District Savannah

What a great duplex rental in a great area! Our family appreciated the location, ease of parking and quality of home. The decor and special touches seemed to leave nothing that was gone unthought of. We will definetly stay again when we travel to Savannah, GA and suggest it to family and friends.

I would like to share a few things though that could have made the stay even better. The check in process to get the code was not as user friendly as we thought. The code that was emailed, appeared to us as the code used to enter, but only once we arrived did we learn that it wasn't. The application was downloaded and we still had trouble, so we ended up calling for this. I didn't notice any signage for our car, but we didn't have any trouble with this. Also, the shower drain was very slow and left a few inches of water while showering. The final thing would be the cleanliness of the kitchen table, there were crumbs in the grooves.

Thank you for such a wonderful weekend in Savannah!

Wonderful weekend away in the Oglethorpe Lodge!!

We had a wonderful girl's weekend in Savannah! All of us girls came in from different states and we rented all three of the suites so we could each have our own space but be near each other. We utilized the kitchen by making a few breakfast casseroles and meeting for brunch each morning. The Oglethorpe Lodge is in the perfect location for anybody visiting Savannah. It's very safe and near the river, many great restaurants, and beautiful parks. We walked everywhere and never once had to move our cars from the parking spots provided. The lodge was very clean, beautifully decorated, and fully stocked with any of the amenities we could need. I would highly recommend this property to anybody looking to visit Savannah and will be sure to return soon! Enjoy, y'all!

Great location

Great if location is your main interest in this rental. We come to Savannah a lot and this is perfect if you want to be close to River St and City Market. Found it to be a bit pricey for the accommodations. Small kitchen that is not "fully equipped." We had to go out and buy a frying pan and a knife (which we left) to make breakfast. Tried to get a hold of manager and property owner and never got a return on my message.
