About Gerald P. Rothman, Owner, Colleen Riggott, Property Manager, Rothman Real Estate

My name is Gerald P. Rothman from Manchester, CT, owner of Sugartop unit 2415. I purchased this condominium at Sugartop on October 19, 1983. I was excited to purchase this condominium at Sugartop since it was called 'an architectural achievement' because it is built entirely of concrete and steel, thus fire proof. The building impressively sits atop Sugar Mountain 5,200 feet above sea level. Over the past 30 years, my family and I have thoroughly enjoyed each visit to Sugartop regardless of the season. No matter what time of year that you visit Sugartop it is an exciting experience. From watching the sunset from your unit, viewing the majestic, surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains, visiting the nearby quaint towns, driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking or skiing ... you can't help but have a fantastic time throughout your entire stay! I am positive of this from personal experience throughout these 30 years and from reviews by our guests.

Now, my grandchildren are always as excited as their parents were years ago to visit this resort. All this said, 'come visit and stay with us I am sure you will enjoy your vacation'.

Should you need any assistance with booking your reservation at Sugartop or any questions you may have, please do not hesitate to call Colleen Riggott (Property Manager at Rothman Real Estate, LLC). Colleen can be contacted Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 6:00 pm at 1-860-646-4144. After hours and weekends you are welcome to call 1-860-944-8262.

Great Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed everything about our stay. I was a little confused at first whenever we got to the gatehouse. I did not realize that the unit had no air conditioning, but having the breeze through the windows from the mountains was nice. Unit was clean and no issues with anything. We plan on coming back one day!

Very nice for the money

  • 5 of 5

Nice size. Very good view! Overall a great trip.

Just to clarify. You can walk to the sugar Mtn slopes if you have your boots and skis. You will walk down a fairly steep hill and enter on top of Oma's Meadow slope (see sugar website for map). This is a blue difficulty so for beginning skiiers It isn't the trail you want to begin on. For other skiiers you can ski down and buy your lift tickets when you get to the bottom. We drove to the trail and were able to park very close since it was late in the season.

Not happy about the new VRBO fees though.

Sugar Top Condo's 10/10

  • 5 of 5

This resort was great! My family ended up renting 4 different rooms with 21 people, all of which were very nice and clean. The resort itself was amazing; the lobby was very clean and very impressive. The pool and Jacuzzi's were exquisite!! There was even a Hot Tub hiding through the weight room which included a steam room and Sauna. Joey at the front office was very helpful as well. The only downfall is the fact you have to leave your car down at the front gate but they did have a shuttle Van. Half of my family went to Ski and you should really call the SUGAR BUS to take you to and from Sugar Mountain and resort bc we attempted to drive and ended up having to park a long ways away from Sugar Top Mountain and wait/ride a bus to top -- the Sugar Bus picks you up at the gate of the resort and drops you off/pick you up at door of Sugar Mountain. We opted for a less expensive room of the 4 and had just as much room as the others- the only difference was the decorations and electronics but overall ALL of the rooms were perfect!! Our family will be making this a yearly family tradition from now on!! We had a great time!! :)
