Why Finn Alban chose Fredericksburg
'While growing up in San Antonio, I had often visited the Hill Country as a child. Even then, I knew that some day, some way, I would live there. When my son was 4 years old, that opportunity came and we moved here to this very special small town with its wonderful community.'
What makes this House unique
This antique and art filled property, is a well cared for, family home that has in the past, sheltered many people in a loving way. The sun bleached limestone walls give this house it's rightful sense of place in the Texas Hill Country.

Great property / great stay!
Such a cute place! We loved our stay and would definitely stay again. Great location very close to Main Street and all the fun that it has to offer. Thanks for the hospitality and for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!
Full of character cottage
We had a fun and relaxing girls weekend in this cozy cottage. It has such character that takes you back to the late 1800’s, but with modern amenities. Is in a quiet neighborhood very close to town, but feels serene with the privacy fencing, trees, listening to the birds and seeing deer coming up in the yard. So enjoyed sitting out back in the mornings drinking coffee from one of the owners (potter’s) handmade coffee cups and sipping wine visiting in the evening.
We stayed at the Potter’s Cottage May 26-27 for a Memorial Day getaway. It was ideal for our needs! The location was great...close to downtown but in a quiet neighborhood. The cottage was stocked with everything we needed including granola, milk, and bananas for breakfast, kitchenette essentials (microwave, mini fridge, glasses, paper products, a few utensils, plates/bowls, coffee maker, tea pot), bathroom essentials (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hairdryer), and lots of towels. We really liked the historic nature of the cottage and eclectic artistic decor, but our favorite part of the cottage was actually the private back courtyard. It was perfect for relaxing with wine in the evenings! The Potter’s Cottage is definitely one-of-a-kind, and we would stay here again.
Fredericksburg Get Away
My family and I enjoyed staying at "The Potter's House". It had a family atmosphere. We enjoyed the rocking chairs while talking and reminiscing on a cool/windy afternoon. Also, enjoyed the shops on main street in Fredericksburg, plus HEB was a skip and a jump from the house.
The owner was friendly and prompt answering our questions.
Look forward to going again.
Love this place
We will keep coming back to this pretty little place as long as Finn will have us.
This is a great choice for a stay in Fredricksburg. This place has location, charm and value. We will definitely stay here again.
This unique, art filled B&B, the Potter's Cottage, is1/2 of a 120 year old limestone farmhouse ( like a duplex). The other 1/2 of the house is occupied by the owner but there is a stone wall separating the two and separate entrances with plenty of privacy. It is located within an easy 4 block walk to the historic Marketplatz on Main Street.
Fredericksburg is rich with varieties of recreational activities including the local History Museum, The Nimitz Museum of the Pacific War, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, and the LBJ Park in Stonewall. The region is known for it's Texas wineries and wonderful restaurants. It is also fast becoming a destination for Texas music with many venues for listening and dancing.
This part of the Hill Country offers many opportunities for outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking, birding and viewing wildflowers and beautiful scenery.
