Cute! Little 2 bedroom cottage sits directly behind Frederick William house and on shining sea bike way, close to beach, pond, shops, and across the street from a great local restaurant. Vineyard goers, walking distance from the steamship authority. Never pay to park to visit the islands. Perfect location!
This adorable little cottage is nestled right behind the Main House on this lovely estate giving you maximum privacy!! Falmouth's Historic Village Green is just minutes away, as well as Highfiled Hall and Katherine Lee Bates birth home (author of America the Beautiful). Whale watch tours, dinner cruises, and fishing charters can be had right from our very own Falmouth Harbor. And if you love antiques, be sure to take in some of the local antique shops and summer events.
Festivals and different special town attractions are scheduled throughout the year, so if you are looking for a specific experience or even, just call to find out more. There is always something fun happening in Falmouth. Come see our Strawberry festival, or our Scallop festival, or take in the fall colors, or visit us during the winter holidays. There is really something for everyone all year round.
I grew up in Menlo Park California, my Father was a native Cape Codder and my mother was a native Californian. I suppose my mother's influence kept my Father in California, but he always entertained the notion of moving back to Falmouth. The stretch of land Frederick William House sits on has been in my family for nearly a century, strawberry fields encompassed the stretch, and the 4 houses to the left and the right all belonged to long gone relatives. One by one the cousins, aunts and uncles sold, but when I discovered that 594 Palmer belonged to me after my last living relative on Cape Cod passed away, I felt impelled to keep the last of the homes and share this magical place with you.

Frederick William House has been in my family for nearly a century. We enjoy sharing this magical spot with others. The best memories are made with family.
If you want to 'get there' Frederick William House' is located in an deal spot for the active vacationer who wants to antique downtown, bike, or take in our picturesque landscapes. Easy drives to historic points of interest, walk to breakfast across the street to enjoy the best Irish Eggs Benedict you have ever had. Location, location, location. Come visit the birthplace of 'America the Beautiful' written by Katherine Lee Bates, and visit her child hood home. Take a trolly tour, see Nobska Light House in Woods Hole, still occupied and operated by the Coast Guard Chief. Take in every season, the colors of fall, the impressive frozen ponds in winter, the yellow bursts of color in spring, and the bluest, quiet lapping waves in summer. Cook out, enjoy your family, ferry to the islands, there is so much to do and see here!
Thank you so much! We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. We loved Falmouth and hope to return.

We enjoyed our one night stay with bike riding to the beach and sitting by a campfire. The cottage is well appointed and equipped. Thank you.
The place is very pretty, comfortable, and Jeanette is very welcoming. It's great having the bike trail right behind the property and the use of their bikes. This is our second visit and we hope to return. Thanks!
We had a great time at this adorable cottage! It was our first trip to the Cape. We traveled with our two year old son and a set of grandparents. The cottage had everything we needed; a fully stocked kitchen including a delicious drip coffee maker, towels/linens, games/books, TV/internet, and even a pack n play which was a lifesaver when we realized we forgot ours! There was a fire pit in the backyard that we enjoyed and dozens of bikes to choose from for the adjacent bike path. The bikes didn't have a functioning seat for the two year old so he missed out, but the adults took turns and enjoyed the trails.
We were very comfortable and the cottage was clean. The location was great; we spent a day exploring Falmouth and another day at Martha's Vineyard.
We would definitely rent this place again.
My daughter and I were looking for the perfect place on the Cape to go to for a few days to celebrate our dog Jake's 12th birthday. Jake loves to swim and we thought there was no better place to go swimming than the ocean to celebrate his big day!! The "cottage" was perfectly located a short drive to Old Silver Beach which is a nice sandy beach and after October 1st is pet friendly!
The cottage itself was ideal. It was clean and fresh; nicely decorated and just plain homey and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful with perennials all around and a beautiful patio complete with a fire pit stocked with plenty of wood. The patio also had a little table and chairs perfect for those mid-morning breakfasts that we made in the quaint kitchen. We also enjoyed taking some time to ourselves by utilizing the bikes provided on the adjacent town bike path literally just steps away. Jeannette was very responsive from the moment I requested a reservation until the morning of our arrival. She even called just as we were leaving our house to make sure we didn't have any last minute questions and to see if there was anything special she could help us with. She clearly cares very much about making sure you have an enjoyable stay.
Downtown Falmouth is such a cute little town with plenty of shops and restaurants to please anyone's desires. Woods Hole is just a short drive away but be sure to call ahead if you plan on eating there in the off-season as their websites were not accurate as to their hours of operation.
I would definitely highly recommend this property to anyone who is interested in staying here and would even consider returning. Honestly, I loved it so much, I could envision myself living in a place just like it someday!
Nice people, nice place, great location. Cape Cod is wonderful, really enjoyed the food and being able to go kayak fishing. Did not catch too many fish but the stay was nice. Also enjoyed being able to bring out two little doggies.
We love the location of bike path, getting bikes with the house, and how attentive Jeannette was. Thanks so much!
The cottage at Frederick William House is located behind the main house and directly on the Shining Sea Bike Path. Vineyard goers, we are walking distance to the steamship authority. Never pay for parking to get to the islands!
