About Adam Thomas

We are a family of 4 with two young children who love this cabin. We grew up in Ohio and now live in Las Vegas.

Adam Thomas purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Adam Thomas chose Steam Engine Meadows

We bought this Cabin because of the unique modern styling that makes it stand out from the standard log siding cabins that are all over Brian Head. Out thoughts are that just because it is a cabin, it does not mean that it has to look inside and out like it was built in the 1800's.

What makes this cabin unique

The combination of the modern styling and the incredible views that are seen from most rooms of the cabin were what made us choose this cabin.

We loved being able to all stay together! The house is big enough that we didn’t feel crowded.

We loved being close to the ski resort. The family was able to ski for two days and even went sledding the last night with fresh snow! The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to cook our meals. The fireplace was awesome too! It is a wonderful place to gather!

Great location

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at this cabin twice in the past couple years. It is very close to Ski Slopes and we can walk to the grocery store and pizza! It has a great view of giant steps especially for New Year’s Eve fireworks and torch parade. There are a lot of stairs and different levels but it didn’t bother any of us. The family room is cozy with the great fireplace. We even went sledding on the property With very little snow this year :-) it has a Jacuzzi tub, very nice bathrooms and lots of entertainment including pool table, air hockey, ping-pong, and foosball.

The cabin was great, it has everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom, plenty of towels.

The only complaint was the comfort of the beds, very hard and uncomfortable. Other than that we had a great time for thanksgiving with our family. The cabin was very easy to find, and the owner was quick to reply to any emails that were sent. Thanks a lot!

Nice funky cabin. Game room big hit with 7 teenage boys! Living room was great with a nice fire!

  • 5 of 5

We had a nice time , enjoyed the cabin very much. Our only issue was the road by the cabin is dirt and we had to get our van towed out by AAA after a good snow. Has a nice feeling. For our group of eleven easy going people, it worked just fine. Needs a mud room to make the entrance into the house easier and neater. Views are great and you can hear a pin drop, it is so quiet up there. Thank you Adam for such a wonderful place to stay.

Great place, but dirt road makes getting in and out difficult when muddy

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming home. It was tricky getting the car in and out in the daytime weather of +45° when all the ice melted and made the dirt road muddy. I assume it could also be different be difficult with heavy snow because it's not a great place to park the car if the snow tractor needs to calm and clear the road. The view of the ski slope was incredible the house was nice the stocked with dishes and the owner provided wood for burning in the fireplace which was very nice for the evenings. There is also a yard for the children to play in and snow sled when they were not skiing. We will definitely be considering this home again next year.

Holiday Stay

  • 4 of 5

All processes for renting and checking in were smooth. Plenty of instructions were provided. The cabin was clean but drafty due to the single pane sliding glass which dominates the cabin. Inclusive is the front entrance which is a sliding glass door. Window treatment is needed on windows in both the dining area and living quarters. Sun was in your face during the afternoon hours. Game rooms were entertaining but all apparatus is badly worn.

As for the cabin layout, I did not care for the multi level design. Seemed I was always going up and down a set of stairs.
