Mouse Haven
The location was great. Lovely river setting and within a few miles of Red Lodge amenities. And that is where the enchantment ends. Evidence of mouse infestation in kitchen area, fly detris in window sills, dirty under cabinets, very little lighting, bathroom fixtures/plumbing need replacing and common rental amenities like dishwashing soap and coffee filters non existent. These folks need to step up their game if they want to continue to rent at this price or, market it as a Very Rustic Retreat..amenities not included!

Great cabin!
This was our second year staying at this cabin. The views are beautiful, and close to the ski slopes. We love the simplicity of the cabin, as well as the dog friendly property!

Disappointed
Cabin had not been cleaned upon our arrival. Beds were not made, dirty towels on bathroom floor, garbage from previous guests not taken out, no toilet paper, found dirty underwear from previous guests under a bed, hot tub water level low and not clean. Tried to reach hosts when we arrived to see if they could have housekeeping come to clean the rental and unable to reach by phone or by VRBO messages. Housekeeping did come 4 hours after we checked in and we had to leave rental and interrupt our evening plans. Would have been a great rental except for the cleanliness issues. Disappointed.

Kelly is a registerd nurse and works in the OR at St. Vincent's Hospital in Billings. Kelly and her son Duncan operate Carriaged Away and Duncan's Horseplay. Together, they offer wagon rides and trail rides for the complete western experience. One of Kelly's favorite pasttimes is driving her team of horses, Rock and Roll. Kelly participates in several wagon trains per year, ranging from Montana to Arizona, and drives her wagon over 200 miles per year. Kelly thoroughly enjoys spending time with her 12 grandchildren. Kelly has been married to Everett for thirty years. Everett works for Big Sky Irrigation in Billings and designs and sells Zimmatic center pivot systems. Everett enjoys horseback riding, especially on wagon trains, fishing, photography and spending time with kids and grandkids.

Why they chose this property

Kelly purchased this property in 1987 when we moved to the Red Lodge area. We own 28 acres and have 3/4 mile of Rock Creek frontage. Kelly's Rock Creek Cabin was built in 1995 in order to provide a unique log cabin rental for people wishing to experience the rustic flavor of Montana.

What makes this property unique

Rock Creek is but a few short steps from the deck of Kelly's Rock Creek Cabin. The sounds of the babbling brook can be enjoyed while relaxing on the deck. Several 'fishing holes' on Rock Creek are a short hike away. The adjoining property is the Horse Thief Station Fishing Access site and has beaver ponds full of eager brrok trout.
