Welcome to Paradise!

Right at the centre of the most beautiful island of the Caribbean, within a stone’s throw from the turquoise waters with its pearly white beaches and minutes away from an exotic city, lies the exclusive Royal Palm Resort. Its prime location with an incredible view and an impressive architecture, which is spaciously designed, makes your stay a memorable one.

This 5-star apartment sleeps up to 4 adults and a clild. The spacious balcony with a large awning provides you an exquisite view at the tropical landscaped garden and the Caribbean Sea.

The apartment with a size of 154 m2 / 1658 sq. ft. can accommodate 1-5 persons. It has 2 large bedrooms and both a private bathroom with toilet, bidet, sink and shower. 1 bathroom has a bathtub. There is also a 3rd guest toilet. For children up to three years there is a cot, a high chair & toys. The apartment is provided with Wifi & cable TV (US and Dutch channels).

The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances, like a double door fridge, dishwasher, oven and microwave. The apartment also offers a washing machine and dryer.

The Royal Palm Resort is a 24-hour secured resort and offers a communal pool with a wooden deck and sun loungers with a spectacular view over the Caribbean sea and nature.

On walking distance you will find the Hilton, the Marriot, the Floris Suite, Pirate’s Bay beach club and several restaurants. Around the resort is a popular walking / jogging trail. The 18-hole golf course at Blue Bay Curacao is located five minutes away by car.

About Niek de Munck Mortier

We are Niek and Marije and together with our daughter and son we live and work on Aruba. We moved because Marije is a docter and now specializes to a general practitioner and unfortunately this was not possible on Curacao.

We have lived on Curacao with great pleasure and enjoyed the apartment, the resort and the island very much.

Our property manager Jossette Jansen will do her best to answer all your questions and help you where needed.

Great for families

We were 4 people staying at the Royal Palm Resort apartment. It was very good: in terms of location, facilities and ambience in general. We have a 6-year old and a 1-year old, and the apartment catered to our needs perfectly, not to mention the beautiful 4-poster bed in the master bedroom and perfectly equipped en-suite. Everything worked, the kitchen was sufficiently stocked with appliances, cutlery, dishes etc. The apartment was not only a fantastic base for exploring the island (do rent a car, we recommend D&D Car Rental Curacao, who can also pick you up and drop off at airport for a small fee), but also for a relaxing day by the pool or the local beaches and walk-ways (wonderful walking route to town by the sea, esp popular in the early morning).

a bit disappointed

A bit disappointed by the construction work next to us during our holiday which started at 7:30 am. (Sawing, drilling etc) I was obliged to remain in the House until the afternoon, but it was not pleasant for me. Continue the construction cabin for your nose and white feet. The size of the apartment was pleasantly. downside: Alarm did not work and the safe was also not available. The gate to get in had 2 lugs out there every time and weight of the bathroom cabinet were shelves skewed and los. Everything was fairly dated and although the management star a friendly lady was, she could not remedy the defects during our stay. Tuesday after we left came the handyman who would make e.e.a.. I felt safe on the resort with continuous surveillance. The owner, I like to do with it and was always very friendly. Unfortunately we did not know of the construction work next to our apartment.

We visited this resort during the Curacao Jazz period. It was nicely located near the Jazz site so we could enjoy the music from our balcony. We had a warm welcome by the manager and she was even so kind to borrow us a cellphone. The premises were nicely keptm all amenities in place. I would highly recommend this place to any guest visiting Curacao as is is also within walking distance to the beach. Thanks Nieck for letting us stay in your nice house. My grandson enjoyed the toys.

Great for cost

This property is beautiful and exactly as described. Two things would have made our stay perfect. If I wasn't a spoiled woos, I might have been able to take the lack of air conditioning better; however, the heat was stifling. Just to run one unit in one bedroom just during the night cost nearly the entire daily allotment of kilowatts. Had we run all units 24/7, the cost per night might have been comparable to staying at the Marriot. The only other downfall was the beds. They are very, very firm and the pillows, literally, were no more than an inch thick. Lastly, it wasn't mentioned in the description, but you are responsible for your soap and toilet paper. Not a big deal, but would've been nice to know that ahead of time. All in all, though, it is by far the nicest property on the island, and the apartment compound is lavishly landscaped and beautiful. Joset is a lovely person and available by phone as needed.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your positive review. August is the warmest period of the year in Curacao and you might use the A/C a bit more than normal. Most of the times our guests don't have to pay extra for electricity because of the heat, but because they come with more persons. We normally mention always to our guests upon time of reservation that if you come with more persons and use the second bedroom there might be the posibility that you go over the 'normal' kwh per night. Therefore we don't charge an extra rate per night for the third or fourth person. Once again thank you for your review and we hope to have you as our guests in the future.

All you need is there apartment. No complaints.

Nice apartment. Clean and lots of space.

Gas BBQ included which we used and functioned properly. The gardens surrounding the appartment are very nice and kept tidy. We saw butterflies, kolobri bird, small leguanes. Good starting point to start exploring the island. I think it has a good quality for money ratio.

Very nice location, peaceful and quiet.

Wonderful home away from home. I would have given it a five star rating however there were a few glitches. Our apartment manager was wonderful but there seems to be a communication problem on what is stated in the contract and what is done, namely, clean towels to be given every 7 days and not the renter doing the towel laundry. The new window screens are a poor fit, with the master bedroom screen falling out with slight breezes. Upon arriving, we noticed the powder room toilet was not working, Josette tried to get it fixed but had trouble getting someone with the right parts. Thankfully we didn't need the powder room. Some ants were notice on the two porches that did enter the front sitting area and the kitchen, but we had no problem with them. All in all, we had a good time and would go back.
