This newly remodeled vacation home is a quaint expanded cape with peekaboo views of Barrells Mill Pond. It is in a quiet neighborhood, a stones throw from the Wiggly Bridge and a short walk to the York Harbor Beach, historic York Village, the town docks and marina. The house was recently remodeled with a relaxing modern beach theme, complete with a new kitchen and master bedroom with en suite bathroom. The second floor bathroom has been remodeled for 2016. The large front deck has also just been completed. There is plenty of room for 6 people with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, family room, and kitchen. There is a shady backyard with newly installed patio with views to Wiggly Bridge and a small front porch that comfortably seats 4 people. The master bedroom has a queen bed with two twins in each of the other bedrooms.
York is a popular beach community with history, charm and accessibility. First settled in 1624 and the first incorporated city in America, the area offers a myriad of fun things to do including relaxing on the beach, fishing, sightseeing and shopping. It is home to the John Hancock Wharf and Mark Twain's Summer home and is an area which still has architectural examples from the Gilded Age, particularly the Shingle style.
The house didn't look to special from the outside, but the inside was updated and very clean. The house had plenty of room for 5 adults. The area was very quiet with walking trails nearby. The town of York has some very good restaurants, so there was no need to travel far. The beach is about a mile away, with the cliff walk along the ocean. Kevin was great to work with throughout the whole process and I thank him for that. Planning on returning next year to enjoy another fun long weekend with the family at Kevin's place. Great location. Wonderful neighborhood, we really enjoyed our visit! Cleaning staff should leave more TP and a couple more tall kitchen garbage bags.
This was a great place to stay. Very clean, updated. everything was there we needed and décor was very nice. House was close to everything. We all loved this place and will stay here again when we return to the area.
My family (2 adults, 2 kids) had a wonderful time on our summer vacation here. The house is centrally located to EVERYTHING (beach(es), restaurants, bagel and ice cream shops, Ogunquit, Portsmouth, NH, Portland, etc.), and was very well maintained and appointed. The "Welcome Packet" provided by the owners was spot on (from everything to recommendations for restaurants, places to visit, things to do, and history of York). The walk to Harbor Beach was incredibly easy...even with a 5 and a 3 year old, and the beach was perfect at both high and low tide for our little ones.
We look forward to coming back again.
I stayed here with a group of friends for my first trip to Maine. The house was great! Clean, modern decor. The kitchen was stocked well with dishes and appliances for what we needed. The location was close to all the locations we wanted to go to. I would definitely recommend this home for others. I really liked how we were staying within the community, right in the neighborhoods!
My friends and I couldn't have been more happy with our stay in York. From the moment we arrived, we were excited by this inviting home! The space was perfect for a girlfriend getaway! The five of us each had our own bed and plenty of room to spread out without feeling like we are on top of one another. Just a 1 minute walk to the Bagel Basket for breakfast or coffee and 10 minutes to Fosters for a Lobster Roll. They had the best I tasted the entire time! You have drive South the Portsmouth for shopping and a costal cruise then North to York Harbor and for the Beach in Ogunquit. Park at the beach for $20 for the day and walk back into the town for shopping and lunch or have lunch at the restaurant right there on the beach. Very inexpensive and good!
Thanks Kevin for an unforgettable experience! Wish we could make it back some day!
