Lovingly furnished with original antiques and featuring all comfort, WIFI.

Charming two-storey traditional chalet (240 sq. m.) with country antiques situated in the National Park ‘Hohe Tauern’ in East Tyrolia, Austria, near the Italian border. The famous ski area of St. Jakob can be reached by free ski bus directly from the house several times per day. The height of 1300 m normally guarantees snow throughout the season way into April. St. Jakob is East Tyrolia’s best known ski town and can be reached on good roads in 3 hours from Munich. The slopes allow runs almost to the house. Long, well-groomed cross country tracks available as well as any kind of winter and summer sports activity. Beautiful hiking area. Horse-sled rides are a big attraction. Excellent gourmet food in two nearby restaurants and many other places in the vicinity.

Skiing in St. Jakob: The National Park Hohe Tauern offers beautiful views, endless hiking and skiing pleasure. You find shops, cafes and restaurants in St. Jakob (10 min.) as well as in Lienz (30 min.), both lovely alpine towns. Ski area with efficient gondola can be reached in 5 minutes by free ski bus several times a day - or by car. Grandiose sights and lovely slopes for all levels of experience in 2000 m height with the possibility of skiing downhill almost to the house.

All rooms are tastefully furnished with the original rural antiques of the house and the family. Each of the four bedroom has its own sink with hot and cold water, so that the bathroom is only needed for showers. Thus groups can well share the house. The bedrooms have lots of cabinet space, a table and chair(s). There are 2 extra mattresses available for additional guests. Sofa bed available for smaller children. Baby bed available (no extra charge). The bathroom offers a luxury shower stall with all-around shower as well as a corner tub, sink, washing machine. It is well-heated and offers an electric towel dryer. The vanity room (toilet) is separate next to the bathroom. Big country kitchen with country furniture and modern kitchenette and dishwasher. Big garden with views towards mountains and forest. Playground nearby.

Great vacation house in the Austrian Alps

We had 6 people stay at the house and it was a wonderful place in a beautiful valley in the Alps close to the Italian border. There were so many things to do and places to hike right out of the front (and back) door of the house. This was a summer vacation for us but in winter the house is great for skiers since the ski resort is just 5 Km up the road in St. Jakob. We had a great time walking to the ski lift to get to the top of the mountain and then walking back down the mountain right to the house. Ernst's restaurant appeared for us half way down. Beautiful time.

Haus mit Charme

Wir (zwei EW und zwei Kinder und ein befreundetes Ehepaar) haben die Semesterferien in diesem Haus verbracht. Wir waren das erste Mal dort. Ein sehr interessantes Haus! Es war uns bewußt, dass es keine seelenlose Pensionsabsteige, die mit alten Spannplattenmöbeln zugemüllt wurde, ist. Wir erwarteten ein Haus mit Geschichte. Gerade im Urlaub mit Kindern kann dieses Haus einiges vermitteln. Diese Erwartung wurde erfüllt.

Gleich hinter dem Haus ist ein zum Haus gehöriger Privathang zum Schlittenfahren, herrlich für das Kinder Apres Ski. Gegenüber (ca 5 Gehminuten) gibt’s eine anspruchsvolle Rodelstrecke mit Nachtbeleuchtung und anschließender Hütte. Sehr Genial.

Ideal für Familienurlaub mit Freunden

Wir verbrachten in diesem urigen Bauernhaus gemeinsam mit befreundeten Familien einen wunderbaren Schiurlaub. Insgesamt waren wir 11 Personen (6 Erwachsene und 5 Kinder) und hatten genügend Platz. Aufgrund der in den Zimmern befindlichen Waschtische war es kein Problem, dass es nur ein Badezimmer - dies allerdings mit Wellnessbad und Wellnessdusche - gab. Es ging sich alles wunderbar aus. Die Küche mit dem alten Herd verbreitet ein uriges Ambiente und lädt zum gemeinsamen Kochen und Verweilen ein. Die Zimmer sind mit alten Möbeln stilvoll eingerichtet, die Böden mit den alten Holzböden verbreiten eine behagliche Atmosphäre. Das Haus ist besonders für Familien mit Kindern sehr zu empfehlen. Die hinter dem Haus liegende Wiese ist ein idealer Ort für Kinder zum Toben, Rodeln, Iglu-Bauen, etc. Der Schibus direkt vor dem Haus ist ein weiteres Plus und die Abfahrt von der Schipiste bis fast direkt zum Haus ist der krönende Abschluss eines jeden Schitages. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden gerne wieder kommen.

enttäuschend

schönes haus und schöne einrichtung, ist aber sehr vernachlässigt. schimmel und eine ungeheuerliche ameisenplage hinter der vertäfelung in der küche. für familien mit kindern sehr ungeeignet. der sandkasten und baumhaus ist eher eine gefahr. zwei balkone werden angegeben. einer ist nur zu nutzen. man müsste das haus und den garten etwas mehr in schuß bringen, um den preis zu rechtfertigen. es zieht überall durch undichte fenster und türen. wir wären lieber abgereist. umgebung ist dafür grandios!

Owner's Response: Die Sandkiste gibt es schon lange nicht mehr - sie ist auch nicht mehr in der Beschreibung, ebenso wenig ein zweiter Balkon. Und das Baumhaus durften Kinder selber errichten - daher steht in der Beschreibung auch, dass es auf eigene Gefahr zu erkunden ist; wir haben ihnen da freie Hand gelassen. Schimmel und auch fliegende Ameisen können - wetterbedingt - in einem über 150 Jahre alten Bauernhaus schon mal vorkommen und werden dann von unserer Verwalterin entfernt, die nur zwei Häuser weiter wohnt. Wir selber waren in der Woche davor im Haus und es gab keinen Schimmel. Auch sind alle Fenster Kastenfenster (also doppelt), so dass es nicht herein zieht. Schade, dass Sie diese Mängel nur über die Website aber nicht während Ihres Aufenthaltes an uns kommuniziert haben. Wahrscheinlich spielte hier der Frust über das schlechte Wetter eine Rolle. Wir haben sonst durchwegs positive Bewertungen, auch und v.a. von Familien.
