Amazing waterfront views from our balcony overlooking River Street and the Savannah River. Watch the people and activity below as boats and cargo ships pass by on the river.

Renovated large, open space with original heart pine floors, exposed brick walls, fully equipped kitchen, plantation shutters and french doors to the balcony with a view of the Savannah River and River Street below. All the comforts of home with WiFi, HDTV, luxury linens, laundry room, and more.

A short walk to everything including Savannah's City Market, Ellis Square, Paula Deen's 'Lady & Sons' and 'The Olde Pink House' restaurants. Antique stores, museums, and over 100 shops, restaurants, and boutiques that line River Street in beautiful downtown Savannah.

Park your car and walk everywhere. Our location is so convenient that most of our guests just park their car for the entire stay!

A FREE shuttle service - 'DOT' - is also available to take you around downtown Savannah and it has a stop on Bay St., just outside our location.

Notes to guests:

~ This unit is on the second floor and has a flight of 22 stairs (please see photos). It is not wheelchair accessible.

~ The balcony is historic. Please use at your own risk/discretion.

Historic information from the owner:

This five story building was constructed in 1859 by John Stoddard, two years before the outbreak of the American Civil War. Collectively, the block of buildings is known as Stoddard's Lower Range. Construction is joisted masonry with heart pine beams and floors and Okefenokee cypress window frames. The walls of the first three levels consist not only of Savannah Gray brick but also of ship ballaststone and coral. Ships arriving in the port would offload ballast replacing it with cotton and naval stores for the homeward bound leg of their voyage. The discarded ballast material was abundant and less expensive than brick. Iron bridges provided not only access to the building's upper stories but also were used by the Factors to inspect and bid on the cotton crop. The street name, Factor's Walk derives from this practice.

The building was purchased by my family from John Stoddard's great grandson in 1945. At one time, 226 E Bay was the residence of the captain of the port of Savannah, Frank Spenser and his wife Anna. I recall the captain's homage to his seafaring days, a port hole in the front door. Mrs. Spenser continued to reside in the apartment after Captain Spenser's death until the early 1960's. The painting on the mantel, 'Anna's Walk' was named in her honor by the artist, Ray Ellis. After Mrs. Spenser, the Savannah artist Augusta Olesheig occupied the apartment as her residence and studio.

Great location with beautiful views of the Savannah River!

Beautiful decorated home that is a mixture of old charm and modern amenities. Convenient walking distance to everything Savannah offers. Lots of places to eat and shop just steps away. Can't wait to visit again. Would recommend to anyone visiting this historic town. Very easy to book, owners went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful.

If you're visiting Savannah, it just does not get any better than this!

This gorgeous, HUGE, and wonderfully located apartment right on the Savannah River is my idea of perfection!

I have rented numerous properties both in the U.S. And Europe through HomeAway and have never been disappointed. But this one is my favorite.

My husband and I spent 2 nights here and enjoyed everything about it. (Wish we could have stayed longer). I have never rented a home that was better equipped! Just bring your toothbrush. Coffee, condiments, paper products, etc. were all available for our use.

No need for a car here. You can walk everywhere! Loved watching the big container ships coming into port and listening to the street activities below. Great shopping, antique stores, restaurants, and bars just steps away.

I could LIVE in this place! I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Savannah. Already looking for an "excuse" to return. I will definitely be back!

Best place to stay in Savannah

What else could I say except this is the place to stay in Savannah...exquisite accommodation and furnishings ...don't go shopping for kitchen necessities until you see what is furnished as to seasonings coffee sugar etc....and don't forget your K cups for their is a new Keurig coffee maker with a 12 cup maker need to worry about parking, there is a parking pass furnished with the condo reservation....we were lucky to find a parking spot just below the unit every can walk everywhere, like Paula Deans and Churchills Pub...wish we had stayed longer, got to come back and explore the history of Savannah and the cotton trade in the early 1700s.etc.

What a great apartment!

My wife and I absolutely loved this apartment! It is in an old original building so there are small things like floors being uneven, but we could not ask for a better place to stay in Savannah. The location is prime, the balcony views are amazing and the space is huge for a 1BR/1BA. Tall ceilings, beautiful floors, and everything was extremely clean.

They were very responsive to texts and emails and made the check in / check out process very easy. We had a great time and will definitely stay here again.

Absolute Perfection!

This is the second time we have stayed at this property. I just can't get enough! The space is lovely and has everything you need. The view of River Street is so nice, and the location couldn't be better. Once we arrived and unloaded our car, we didn't have to move our car from the parking deck the rest of the weekend.

I use to live in Savannah and since moving away, I have stayed at so many hotels, condos and vrbo locations over the past 12 years. This is by far my favorite!

Great stay and view!

Beautiful apartment 4 stories above the River. Very roomy and comfortable. Loved watching the ships go by from the living room and balcony. Perfect location to see all of Savannah.
