Location, location, location!!! You can't beat this downtown Austin location for work or play. Walk out your door and you will be in the heart of downtown Austin, next door to the Convention Center and just half a block away from hopping on the Cap Metro Light rail...not to mention grabbing a Starbucks coffee across the street. Walk just two blocks and you will be on 6th Street or in the Warehouse District of 4th Street, the two biggest nightlife areas of Austin with tons of bars, pubs and live music venues, as well as Congress Avenue and tons of downtown restaurants such as Eddie V's Prime Seafood, Vince Young Steakhouse, Piranha Sushi, Fogo de Chao and Moonshine Bar & Grill. Within four blocks is the famous Town Lake and its wonderful 10+ mile hike & bike trail. And a very short bus ride to the famous SoCo neighborhood. No car needed for this great location but parking is available if you need it. This downtown vacation rental lets you take care of business and fun at the same time and from the same place.

Why David chose Waller Creek District

I bought this condo when I moved to Austin because of its location. I actually owned 2 identical units and lived in the other for 2 years by myself and another 2 years with my wife. We sold the one we lived in after we started a family but kept this one as a rental property. Decided to switch it to a short term rental after seeing how hard it was to find a place to stay in downtown Austin.

What makes this condo unique

I loved this unit in the condo because of the courtyard you walk into when you leave the unit plus the fact that you only share 1 wall with a neighbor.

Fantastic Location!

The condo was quaint, and the location couldn't be beat. Walk to everywhere! The condo itself had everything we needed for a relaxing stay, and the Sleep Number bed was a dream! Once we found the proper comfort settings, we have never slept better. Also a HUGE plus is the covered, dedicated parking spot in a gated lot. We felt safe and secure staying here with our five-year-old. We also couldn't have done without the washer and dryer inside the unit. Check in was easy, and Sandeep was responsive to all of our questions during our time at the condo. Overall, our stay was excellent, and we would definitely stay here again if we return to Austin.

Great location but...

There were a few things that were problematic: the apartment is situated on a courtyard- a small courtyard, which unfortunately is like an echo chamber. Some of the residents forget this and tend to have conversations (loud)- which is great, unless it is 2am, and last for an extended period of time. The front door was very difficult to open/close/lock. Initially we thought it was the humidity. When examined, there was a large crack down the side of the door, where the deadbolt is located, and the bottom hinge had lost all but one screw. When the owner was notified, someone did come out and take a look, but they seemed skeptical. The bathroom shower fixtures were very loose and initially it felt like it was going to pull out of the wall to turn on the shower.

The linens and towels were less than satisfactory. The towels were old and stained. The bed was not very comfortable either. There is a large closet, but it houses the washer/dryer, ironing board and cleaning supplies. And, there isn't much light in the closet.

If you are going for a fraternity house/college dorm vibe, this may be your place.

Great location, beautiful property!

I would give 5 stars for the convenient location, in the center of everything and close to the convention center and parking was included! The trouble that I had was the bed was in horrible condition and i had trouble sleeping. It was an older sleep number and it is time to replace. No number was comfortable. Disappointed in that because otherwise the stay was great!

Owner's Response: I am very sorry you had a poor experience with the bed. It is not an old one. We bought it new in March of last year. Not sure why it wasn't comfortable for you...I have not heard any complaints about it until now. But I will take note of it. Glad you enjoyed the location.
