About Erica K.

An entrepreneur by nature, I have enjoyed the freedom and flexibility that a self directed path can provide. I have loved to travel and annually embark upon both a beach vacation and an exotic destination in a far away continent - you will find exotic mementos from my travels adorn Villa Blanca and inspire the eclectic sampling of the world within. Growing up in Tucson in this very property, I wanted to name my special bungalow to honor my connection to my mother, my family and the heritage of the house, hence the name Villa Blanca which means white house - where my friends said I lived as a kid. While home in Tucson, I love to landscape, You will see me working on my properties tending to the mesquite trees, Peruvian apple cactus a native willow or assisting guests at Villa Blanca Pajaro and other homes. I have always enjoyed cooking - entertaining friends and family and hosting many social events, and look forward to hosting you during your stay in Tucson!

Erica K. purchased this bungalow in 2010

Why Erica K. chose Tucson

My parents were renting the carriage house in the 1960's while attending the University of Arizona. Reading an ad in the paper the original owners of Villa Blanca Pajaro - had listed it for sale - it turned out to be my parents landlords - who enjoyed the young couple so - and sold it to my parents over another buyer. With the assistance of my Grandmother for a down payment, My mother and father moved to the front house and raised us girls - in 2010 Villa Blanca Pajaro passed through the generations from my grandmother, mother and sister to my self - for me to share with you as Villa Blanca Pajaro.

What makes this bungalow unique

I love Villa Blanca Pajaro with all of my heart - it is a beautiful home full of warmth and truly does hold every memory in life - Christmas trees, Easter bunnies, Thanksgiving Dinners, watching sesame street while laying on the living room floor, cartwheels in the front yard - giggling with friends - walking to school - having breakfast at Rincon market, bicycling to the UofA. Now it's your turn to make some memories and experience the warmth and love of a family home known as Villa Blanca Pajaro.

Comfortable, tasteful, charming, & everything you need

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at many VRBO properties over the years and this is among the nicest. I had a 1-week business trip and this was a wonderful alternative to a hotel. I brought my little dog with me. The back yard is fenced so I could let her out without worry, and the neighborhood is safe and pleasant for walks. The unit itself is half of a duplex. It looks like 1920's or 30's vintage and remodeled carefully for comfort without losing any of the original character. I see so many bad remodels, but this one is perfect. There is a carriage house behind for covered parking if your car is medium or small. Inside the home is a good sized master bedroom with a comfortable king bed; ceiling fan was nice, too. There is a second room with a trundle type bed that has a big dresser. The bathroom is standard, a little small by modern standards, but lots of towels & spotlessly clean. The kitchen is on the small side but it has a nice newer fridge and gas 5-burner stove & oven. There are many small appliances in the pantry/closet where you will find a high-end washer/dryer if you need it. Tons of crockery, glassware, utensils, etc. The dining table is round and a little large for the small dining area but you could seat four people there if you needed to. The living room is my favorite. Big leather couch, comfy chair, ceiling fan, nice TV with basic cable. Lots of interesting books (including inside the TV stand) including many on Arizona & Tucson & the Southwest. Plenty of light. Wifi works fine. Best of all, Erica is friendly and responsive and wants you to enjoy your stay. In my mind this is perfect for a couple and a little tight for three adults but a child, maybe two could still be manageable -- especially compared to a hotel. Nice big covered patio with a big table and a cushioned chair. Also a barbecue grill. The few drawbacks: No dishwasher. I didn't mind that but some people might. Also, if you're on a work stay there's no desk and the kitchen table is a poor substitute with no nearby electrical outlet. That's about it; nothing that would keep this place from 5 stars. I highly recommend it and I would happily rent it again if I return to Tucson for any length of time.

This place couldn't be more delightful!

  • 5 of 5

Erica's place is amazing! I spent the whole time we stayed there wondering if she would let us buy it from her somehow! It is 1000% charming, inviting, and comfortable - truly perfect! Erica is incredibly kind and caring and welcomed us as if we were family. She thought of absolutely everything that would enhance our stay and provided so many personal touches - even wine and chocolate! She had such a sweet welcome note on the table for us - that truly made a difference. She goes so above and beyond that I can't even put it into words! I guarantee you will LOVE this wonderful place and want to return over and over!

Beautiful Home and Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

This is one of the nicest properties we've rented through VRBO. The design is wonderful and there is everything here that you need for a great stay in Tucson. We completely enjoyed having coffee on the back porch watching the doves and hummingbirds! The kitchen is appointed with thought....gas stove, large fridge and beautiful period counters. This location was a treat to stay in.

An added feature was having secure parking for our rental car. We had an SUV...a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it fit perfectly into the garage!

We appreciated the thoughtful decorating and obvious care to everything that went into this home. The next time we come back to Tucson this will be the first place we check for availability! Erica, thank you for providing such a lovely place to stay.

Regards,

David & Heather
