Built in 2010, the garage apartment was constructed with the same quality and style as the 100 year old victorian main home.

Enter your private brick patio area with gas grill through a gate adjacent to your off-street parking space. Walk up the stairs past a giant pecan tree and enter the natural-light filled apartment.

The one bedroom apartment has everything you'll need to make your stay a pleasant one.

The full kitchen includes a range with gas cooktop and electric oven, a convection microwave oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher.

The center hallway closet has a clothes washer/dryer.

The tiled bathroom has a large pedestal sink and bathtub/shower.

The bedroom has a queen bed, large dresser and nightstands, as well as a large walk-in closet.

The living room is furnished with a queen fold out bed, with a very comfortable foam mattress, a dining table and chairs for 4, and a flat screen tv with local stations video streaming via NetFlix and Hulu+. A dvd player and video library is also included, as well as free secured wireless internet access.

All linens and towels are provided.

About Greg and Carol Jackson

Carol and Greg are native Houstonians who moved to Austin in 1996, although Greg worked as a musician and Carol attended UT in Austin in the 70's. Greg has returned to being a full time musician and Carol now practices acupuncture in our home and also in a clinic.

Why Greg and Carol Jackson chose Hyde Park

We had lived out in the Hill Country and decided that we wanted to live in town when Carol started her acupuncture practice. We fell in love with the Hyde Park neighborhood and neighbors, as well as our 100+ year old Victorian home. Greg is an accomplished builder and carpenter, so the wonderful old house offers many remodeling project opportunities - we're not quite finished!

What makes this apartment unique

We love living here in the historic Hyde Park neighborhood where we actually know and visit with our neighbors. This is a place where everyone gets out for walks, jogs, and bike rides and everyone takes the time to get to know one another. We know our guests will experience this first hand as they walk to one of the nearby restaurants or other closeby attractions

We spent a lovely month in this very comfortable and well-furnished spot that was walking or biking distance from UT, Central Market (not be missed), and a host of activities of daily life. Our hosts were gracious and helpful ... Carol even provided fresh flowers every week!

Great apartment.

What a nice home away from home. Definitely the best rental we have had. Greg and Carol make sure that it is very well equipped and really make it a very comfortable space. Hopefully we will be back in Austin again to visit and would love to stay here at that time also.

Old Austin Charm Wrapped in an Updated Structure

As comfortable as a grandmother's quilt blanket, this place is a great place to stay while vacationing in Austin. The architectural layout is ideal for an individual or couple. It's close to Central Market, which is Whole Foods lite, and it has several eateries close by. Hyde Park Bar and Grill is a must for Austin expats returning for a visit. We hope to stay here again on our future visits.

We love this beautiful rental and it’s always our first choice for visiting family. Everyone loves the decor, amenities and fabulous location- walking distance to restaurants and a local grocery store. The owners of the property, Greg and Carol, are attentive and ensure a great stay every time.

A Charming, Comfortable, and Wonderful Place to Stay

We desired to spend a long weekend in the Austin area to enjoy the local music and culture. Greg and Carol's Hyde Park unit is not only a great location to serve as home base, it is well designed, easy to fix meals in, and very comfortable. Linens, bath accessories, and kitchen supplies are well stocked and cover all of the bases. The interior is nicely decorated, handsome, and neatly maintained. Hospitality by the hosts is thoughtful and caring. We were able to check in early, get a quick tour by Greg informing us of all we needed to know and, after a few items were forgotten on our departure, they were promptly noticed and happily readied to return by mail. Access to all of Austin is easily at hand, and we found navigating with our rental quickly became "old hat." Our visit was all we hoped it would be, and the apartment was one of the main sources of our appreciation. When we return to Austin again we will definitely contact Greg and Carol first!

Located in central austin, just north of the university of texas campus, the hyde park historic district is the oldest planned community in austin, having been established in the 1890's.

Consisting of a mix of victorian and bungalow style homes, hyde park is a quiet and peaceful oasis in the middle of everything austin has to offer.

Within a short walking distance are great restaurants, a post office, a grocery store, an awesome bakery, a cheese specialty shop, an excellent wine bar, a live theatre, and the elizabet ney museum.

Within a short drive are all of austin's main attractions, including the ut campus, zilker park, barton springs, deep eddy, mount bonnell, lake austin, lady bird lake/jogging trail, south congress, the state capital building, and downtown/6th street, to name a few.
