The villa is air conditioned and is beautifully decorated with a clean and chic Caribbean flavor. The bedrooms are both doubles and are served by ensuite bathrooms. The kitchen boasts all modern conveniences, and is a joy to cook in. The large living space indoors is separated from the balcony by a large french door, which gives plenty of natural light. The balcony itself is simply stunning, with constant fresh breezes and an unrivaled view of the 2 mile beach below.
The directions from the main airport are on the homeaway website. However, they are not adequate. With four people, we did all we could to decipher where the house was, and it was very difficult. It describes looking for a green wrought iron fence that does not exist (or isn't green, anyway). It had us take the wrong exit on a rotary (we double-checked) and they are poorly spelled out. They absolutely need to be changed. Get your own directions in the meantime before going.
Also, beware that you need the address of the villa (saying a villa in the town name is not enough) to put on your customs card when entering St. Lucia. Because there is no specific address on the website (and no warning that one would be necessary in customs, which they absolutely should warn their renters about), it created a long annoying hassle after a long flight. This should not have been the case. It would take minimal effort to prepare renters on this issue.
Aside from the above, the place was fantastic and the service was excellent. It is as advertised and seen in the pictures and kept in excellent shape. Excellent location overlooking a fantastic beach. Any questions we had were answered immediately by Leslie. We needed a key to the laundry room, which was over moments after the request, as was a blender. The propane on the grill was empty, though I sent an email to Leslie and it was replaced before we got back from the beach. The main bedroom has a gorgeous view and balcony. The pool is cold, but I quite enjoyed it.
The beach at the bottom of the hill is not busy and is absolutely gorgeous. Warm, beautiful water, and soft sand with no rocks. Also, a great couple of shacks for good food and drinks.
Also close to great fishing charters (I would recommend Hackshaw's) if that's your thing.
As others have noted, there is an airport right near the villa. It has regular supply flights coming and going through the day. It wasn't terrible, but was annoying at times when we were all out on the balcony in the evening and would drone on for some time. Without that issue, this is a 5 star review, for sure.
I would rent this place again and highly recommend it.
Very nice property and great view. The proximity of Vigie Beach is a plus as the beach is beautiful and not crowded as others we have seen.
We had a great time and the house is beautiful...especially the pool! A few things to be aware of: if you are renting a car and driving l, be aware that it is not an easy drive and once we navigated the very narrow twisting roads and got to within the vicinity of the house, it was very difficult to locate the house itself. It would be helpful to have had some directions about how to spot the house from the road ahead of time...there are no house numbers so no way to know which house is the right one. Another thing to be aware of is that the bed in the master is a queen not a king. Also the house has very basic kitchen supplies: a few pans, salt, pepper, vinegar...and that's about it. No oil, sugar, spices, aluminum foil, etc. and the number of plates is very limited and there are no dinnerware bowls. Only one medium plastic mixing bowl. It would have also been helpful to have some sort of welcome folder or binder to give info on the area and about to the house. We used the wifi to set up some excursions and locate grocery stores etc. the closest grocery store is super J's which is 2 min drive but parking is extremely limited and we did not feel very welcome by the locals. Overall, the house was awesome and gave us plenty of privacy on our honeymoon. But, be aware that renting a home in St Lucia is for the independent adventurous travelers only. We definitely had s more authentic experience of St Lucia than the average tourist staying at a resort but having a few more basic items stocked in the house and slightly more guidance with some kind of written material or recommendations would have made our stay even better and less stressful. Bottom line: If you are okay with fending for yourself in another country, I would definitely recommend staying at this amazing home
This is a wonderful rental, and has a great location on the island. My wife and I just got back from spending our honeymoon here. We really had no complaints while we were there. When we first arrived I noticed their was no blender which was a surprise to me since the VRBO details specifically says their is a blender. I sent a quick text to Leslie, and she was at our door the next morning with a new blender. Needless to say the homeowners are very attentive to your needs, but still give you all the privacy in the world.
The house and it's amenities are kept in great condition. Someone was sent to clean the pool and clean the house roughly every other day.
I highly recommend this rental.
Let me start by saying how gorgeous the view is both day and all the beautiful lights at night. You can see Vigie beach, the mountains, the harbor where the cruise ships come in and a small airport. When I first arrived I was shocked that we were pretty much on top of an airport but it was not bad at all and we enjoyed watching the planes come and go. The airport closes fairly early so its not a problem with noise at night, there is also a little coffee shop and bank we went to at the airport, there is a constant breeze which was wonderful. The house is pretty much like the pictures only I think those pictures are from when it was brand new, its a bit rundown now and the beautiful kitchen cabinets are layered in grime and dirt and in need of a deep clean. The bathrooms have some water leak issues and need some maintenance. I was dissapointed that the cute little pool was not usable. The water is FREEZING !! It really should have a heater. I was not at all impressed with the island as a whole. There are some really gorgeous vistas and scenery, but I found the city of Castries a dirty, filthy uninviting place that I would not return to.
We recently stayed at the villa for a week in February. Overall, the stay was fantastic! The location was great, the views just like on VRBO, and the villa was extremely comfortable.
4 days we went to the beach at Reduit and to Pigeon Island. The beaches are great and the St. Lucians are phenomenal people. We went to the Ptons one day, and a catamaran trip the other.
For meals, we ate every breakfast in the villa, and three dinners we grilled out. It was perfect! A car is necessary at the villa so that you can travel freely to the beaches, stores, etc.
Again, a perfect vacation!
Ti Caye House overlooks Vigie Beach and is in a stunning rural and tropical location. Situated very near to the main city, Castries, it is ideally located near to a multitude of tours such as fishing, beach visits, island tours. A short walk to the beach means it is also perfectly suited for total relaxation. High on the hill means constant cooling breezes and stunning views!
