We are short walking distance to: Montreal's downtown core, Old Montreal, historic Lachine Canal /Atwater market (selling local farmer's produce), the finest reviewed and recommended restaurants in the city, museum of fine arts, a huge variety of shopping experiences. There is a gourmet street corner grocery should you desire any refreshments. The nearest Metro (subway) access is only 1.5 blocks, the train station is 5 blocks distance. There is simple and quick highway access to and from the island of Montreal, and conveniently 15-20 minutes to/from Trudeau Int Airport. There is available street parking. A DOWNTOWN MONTREAL OASIS.

My husband and I made a list-minute trip to Montreal and found this awesome listing still available. Boy are we glad it was!
It was our second stay in Montreal, so we were very familiar with the Bixi bike rentals, the markets (Jean-Talon and our beloved Atwater) and the too-numerous to count restaurants in the city. This apartment is near it all, but on a quiet tree-lined street with gorgeous, old stone homes that make it seem like you can't possibly be so close to downtown. It is one and a half blocks away from a Bixi station that will be a short ride to Vieux Montreal, the Lachine Canal, Atwater market, Chinatown, etc. It's also a mile or so to many many many restaurants - the famed Joe Beef and Liverpool dynasties but also the myriad ethnic eateries near Concordia. We were able to take morning adventures and then pop in to drop things off, refresh our water bottles, check emails, and then head out for another fun-filled adventure. I can't say enough about the location.
The flat itself is amazing - bedroom is large, quiet, and tucked away in the back, with blackout curtains in case you want to sleep in. Bed was enormous and comfortable, and we had plenty of pillows and blankets. The kitchen is large and had sufficient things to cook with - although we only used the fridge to store treats. Bathroom, like the rest of the flat, was spotless and quite comfortable for two. There is also a washer/dryer if you're staying a bit longer, and a fantastic outdoor patio area where you can enjoy those delicious cheeses you got at the Fromagerie d'Atwater and/or craft beers from the epicerie down the street. Norman was wonderful. Very warm and inviting but respectful of our privacy, and he had fantastic recommendations for local restaurants.

Curb appeal is beautiful. The apartment was clean and cozy. The pictures are accurate.
All you really need is your clothing and food.
We did not pack tons of clothing because they provide a washer and dryer. That was awesome.
Bed and couch were comfortable.
You do not have to rent a car because the Metro station is within walking distance. We did uber a few times and that was a great experience as well.
The grocery store is just a few blocks away so walking to that was nice! There is a pizza place that delivers. I left the brochure in the kitchen drawer for the next guests. It's nice when you are too tired to cook! 😌
Norman was amazing! He was kind and very giving. He gave us tips and great advise upon our arrival. He is quick to respond when you need anything.

Norman was looking for us by car as we wheeled our suitcases from the train station just a short walk away. What a nice gesture! This well-maintained and comfortable apartment was a great place to stay in a neighbourhood with a vibrant and ecletic mix of people. The bed was super comfortable, and the living area offered excellent lighting and relaxing furniture for after a day of walking around. We walked to the Museum of Fine Arts, the Atwater Market, and old Montreal with ease. Very close-by we found an upmarket grocery and restaurant. Norman filled us in. We found other restos, shops and cafés on foot mostly along rue Old Notre Dame on our way back from the Atwater market. The area is becoming gentrified and will get even more interesting to the shopper/diner/traveler with time. The ground-floor apt is in a row of solid stone townhouses that were built to last and are attractive for that. I highly recommend the apartment and hope to return when we have more than a day to spend in Montreal.
Long overdue review. My husband and I stayed in August 2015. We came for the Roger Cup. It is very close to subway station, everything we needed was in the apt. Spotless. We felt right at home. Would certainly stay again in the future if we returned to Montreal.
The rue Lusignan place is exactly as advertised--a clean, comfortable and well-appointed 1-bedroom apartment, with upstairs owners who make sure everything is right for you. Perfect for a couple and could be extended using the sleep-sofa for two more, though that would be mostly for families. We used it as a base, shopping almost daily at the Atwater Market (short drive or long walk), dining on rue Notre-Dame (10 minute walk), shopping on St. Catharine (10-minute walk) or taking the Metro up to the Place des Arts or the Plateau ($3 direct line). The neighborhood itself is not particularly lively, but as indicated above, access is pretty painless. Parking is another story. Those unfamiliar with Montreal parking will need a tutorial to make sure they don't park in permit-only spaces. This, however, is true anywhere in the inner core of the city. All in all, a very pleasant stay in a place to which we plan to return.
It's always a pleasure when you choose a place to stay and it turns out to be perfect! This location was just right for us, walking distance to most of the areas of Montreal and just blocks from the metro to take home after our long days.
Norman and Elisabete were great hosts. They live right upstairs so they are right there if you need something, but very respectful of your privacy. Communication was good and Norman was very helpful with local recommendations. They even accomodated us for a quick two night stay before we flew out.
The home is vey clean, spacious, and comfortable. Nice to have W/D. Kitchen could use a little more "stuff" but it wasn't a problem for us as there are soooo many great restaurants in Montreal.
We will definitely call this place home on our next trip to this great city!
