Welcome to our historic, modernized Biltmore Studio with a dedicated parking space right outside the French Cut wooden fence alongside the patio, full kitchen, Sofa Bed (more than 2 people add $20/person/night) smack-dab in the heartbeat of Downtown with some of the best restaurants, galleries, music venues, theaters, and shops just steps from your door. The Biltmore Studio is framed with 16 inch brick walls for your quiet enjoyment in the cacophony of Downtown Asheville, though be aware of some 'character noises' from the footsteps on the Heartwood pine floors above during business hours. Be advised that 3 adults in these premises is a bit tight (no complaints, though) and you may want to consider our larger Biltmore Loft in the same building at www.homeaway.com/3013847. The Studio has its own parking space by the wooden gated entrance in our French Cut Fence and small patio with new Keypad keyless door access - easy and safe - sleeps 3 comfortably!
You'll be enamored with the earthy feel of this walk-out (open bedroom design). You'll find all the luxurious trappings including: high speed 16 mb download, wireless DSL internet connection; flat screen HDTV with Netflix movies and TV shows; 3-D Blu Ray Disk and DVD Player with a small library of select movies; new living room and bedroom suites with gel memory foam mattress & pillow top on the Queen sized bed; and new stainless steel refrigerator and range. How about seating yourself in the umbrage of the maple trees in the comfortable patio of the Double D's Coffee & Dessert BUS next door, the world class venue of the 500 seat Diana Wortham Theater at the top of the block, the awesome fire pitted patio of the Wicked Weed Restaurant & Brewery just down the street, or the uniquely designed Pack Square Park starting at the Obelisk at the top of the block?

In order to cancel the reservation, the request must be tendered by the Tenant to Landlord in writing by Email, text, fax, or postal mail. If the cancellation is tendered by a party other than the person who made the reservation, then adequate information must be provided to convince Landlord that said cancellation request is valid. In the event of cancellation of part or all of the reservation, a pro-rata refund to Tenant will be issued, less a 10% cancellation fee of rent paid or a minimum $75 fee along with any other fees that may be reasonably considered from time to time, provided that Landlord has a firm commitment from another Tenant for that particular rental period. You will never pay more than the amount you have paid so far. Landlord is not responsible for any Security Deposit Insurance (SDI) fee that was paid.
In the event full payment is not RECEIVED at least 20 days prior to arrival, then this Agreement will be considered cancelled at the option of the Landlord; Landlord will begin the process of re-renting the premises, and the provisions in the prior paragraph will then apply, unless subsequent arrangements have been made between the parties hereto.
Sandy and Bernie Byrne are Iowa born via Coral Gables/Miami FL. Bernie grew up on a farm in northwest Iowa and Sandy in Iowa City, the home of the University of Iowa (Hawkeyes). Sandy has authored several books and has traveled the world lecturing & teaching Ultrasound of the Eye. She feels so fortunate to have helped so many people with unique eye problems. We are overjoyed to be in the Asheville area for over 19 years now and have worked diligently to develop a true Green, Organic, and Sustainable community just 23 minutes north of Asheville called Mountain Meadows on Crooked Creek. Just recently we converted our Biltmore Studio & Biltmore Loft in Downtown Asheville to vacation rentals. We want to use them often too so we loaded them up with the most comfortable and convenient furnishings and electronics to go along with all of the exciting energies in Downtown Asheville. Excellent health in all physical, mental, and spiritual ways has been our positive passion for a long time and we feel so privileged to enjoy our kids, Cherie, Nicole & Donnie along with our grand daughters Amanda, Maddie, & Tabitha. Downtown was not yet hip when we decided to buy a building in Asheville in the year 1999. We thought, hey, wouldn't it be a creative, FUN time and investment to renovate an old building and be able to have a small apartment where we could stay sometimes? Though our farm was only 20 minutes north, we felt this downtown option would really be the lap of luxury (it is)! We were fortunate to find an old, 2 story corner building with an art studio and gallery on the main floor, an apartment above, and a (dilapidated) basement. There were dozens of coats of paint on both the brick walls as well as the old Heartwood Pine floors in the retail area and the Biltmore Loft; the frontage was a 1940's aluminum; and the owners were relectant to sell. After friendly negotiations, and paying much more than we really thought it was worth (does that sound familiar?), we went to work redesigning and putting together a construction crew. This 18 inch brick walled, ugly and decrepit dinosaur circa 1885 building is now transformed and on the National Historic Register on a gem of a corner surrounded by thriving restaurants, shops, galleries, coffee houses, a new Asheville City parking deck, and the new A-loft Hotel (part of the international Starwood Hotel systems). We feel so fortunate to be part of a bustling downtown that still retains its historic character and charm!
We've said it all before and we'll say it again - you'll just LOVE being Downtown right in the middle of it all with kind and caring folks all around and exciting things all about! The coziness and simplicity of the Biltmore Studio with its small patio surrounded by a French Cut Fence and personally designed wooden gate opener and closure has a parking spot right outside the Studio fence. Next door you'll visit Double D's Coffee & Dessert BUS; view the Fine Arts Theatre across the street where you will see artsy new independent movies; just a block away enjoy The Orange Peel, considered by Rolling Stone Magazine to be one of the best music venues in the nation; organic minded bodies will resonate with the French Broad Co-op 1 block south and the Farmer's Market down the street on Wednesday afternoon plus the City Market a few blocks away on Saturday mornings, in season; take a slow walk in the delightfully designed Pack Square Park up the street with its grassy areas and trees, water features, and its leisurely promenade - great for sitting, musing, and people watching; how about Broadway quality shows at Pack Square in the Diana Wortham Theatre just 1 block up the way?; a plethora of natural 'farm to table' restaurants are tantalizing; the original craft brewery in Asheville, Highland Brewery, was borne in the basement environs of Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria right across the street; the Drum Circle, our primal beat, is our go-to on Friday nights - could we be so lucky?

Very clean and nicely updated. The bed was comfortable and the place was perfect for the two of us. It's a great location in downtown! You can walk to the restaurants and shops which we really liked. Bernie is easy to work with!
My wife and I just returned from a four-night stay in this perfectly located, and cozy studio. After searching all of the local hotels we decided we wanted something with the comforts of home within walking distance to downtown....bingo! Upon arrival the studio was clean, well-equipped, and 525 sq ft never felt so spacious. With this being our first visit to Ashville we stayed busy with all kinds of activities from hiking, biking, zip-lining, and of course a tour of the Biltmore House. When it was time to return "home" parking was simple and the buzz of night-life we're just steps away. Bernie had left a great list of recommendations for local restaurants and with suggestions from all of the friendly locals, your sure to find just what you're looking for!

I almost hesitate to talk about how wonderful this little studio is because I don't want word to get out about it! What a gem this listing is! Bernie and Sandy have done an amazing job attending to every little detail. We had everything we needed and in abundance - high quality towels, toilet paper, pillows, etc. The location is perfect - walkable to every desirable location in downtown Asheville. The convenience of the parking space cannot be overstated. We loved being able to walk right up to the double decker bus for outstanding coffee each morning. At first, I was a bit concerned about the potential of noise, since we were so centrally located downtown, but as soon as we entered the studio and shut the door, that was no longer a concern. It felt very private and cozy. One could hear footsteps in the above retail space during working hours, but this was not an issue at all for us, as we were out exploring during the days. All was quiet by the time we returned in the evenings. In short, we never wanted to leave. Thank you again and again, Bernie and Sandy, for such an amazing trip! We plan to return, and we want to stay in your studio!
A friend and I did a two-night stay here recently for a girls' weekend. Bernie and Sandy went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, including a long list of restaurant recommendations. The studio was extremely clean and we felt very safe during our stay. We barely moved our car from the space as everything is within walking distance! We had such a wonderful weekend - highly recommend this spot!

REFUND - anyone who desires to terminate their Reservation 30 days or more in advance of their arrival must advise Owner. Owner shall immediately place those days on the Calendar as available. In the event all of those days become Reserved, then Traveler will receive all monies paid minus a $75 cancellation fee or 10% of the Rental Amount, whichever is greater. In the event a portion of the days become Reserved, then Traveler will receive a pro-rated amount of the money that has already been paid .Please see the last paragraph under Overview (in the menu above).
NATIONAL HOLIDAYS...please refer to the last paragraph under Overview. Prefer NO departures on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day or will add $35 to Cleaning fee for the benefit of our housekeepers.
