Great 4th of July weekend getaway. Very close to get to Current River to go tubing and the fireworks show from the porch was absolutely amazing. Very clean and easy to get up the driveway without 4WD after tons of rain.
When we arrived, we had one heck of a time parking, as they had a snow and had only plowed 1 car wide. Road dead ended. Had Van and brother in law had pick up truck, non 4 wheel drive. That was an adventure.
When inside, the wood floor in LR was all spotted with dirt. No problem, we just mopped up. Went upstairs to bedroom, which by the way, those beds aren't queen but doubles. We know, as both myself and brother in law and spouse have queens. These beds were small. I'm a big guy-6'5" and weigh 320 lbs and would have at least enjoyed a queen. Downstairs Bdr. was same.
Chairs at kitchen table were very wobbly and pieces of wood missing from them. When we called them, we immediately got 4 other ones. Upon inspection of these, 2 were cracked but were able to use them for our stay.
Weather was not good. Ice and snow. WE had to call them to notify them we couldn't get out. When you own homes which you rent out, you have to be aware of the possibilities for your renters when the weather is bad. The road was windy and steep. They did bring some salt and sand which did help get us out.
The home has a lot of glass in front. Large log home windows and they were absolutely filthy. They, I do not believe, have ever been cleaned.
The family that owns the property is nice but are very "lax" when taking care of the property and cleaning.
