About Dick and Bonnie Miller

Bonnie's grandparents homesteaded the ranch in 1908. It has remained in the family for over a hundred years and still operates as a cattle ranch. Bonnie and I returned to the Black Hills from Denver in the late 90's and decided that this is where we want to stay. We look forward to sharing this beautiful spot in the Hills and making new friends as we do so.

Dick and Bonnie Miller purchased this house in 2010

Memorable Stay in the Black Hills

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five spent four wonderful days and nights at Bonnie and Dick's ranch in the Black Hills. It would be no exaggeration for me to say that this is one of the loveliest properties in the country. The house was spacious, immaculate and well-supplied with everything we needed to keep us refreshed, well-fed, entertained and well-rested. And Bonnie and Dick were so very gracious and welcoming. The ranch property itself was stunning - secluded in it's own special way, while sitting quite literally on the doorstep of Custer State Park. The kids enjoyed the herd of Black Angus cattle the roam the property; my wife and I loved the starry skies in the evening.

The perfect place to stay while visiting Custer State Park.

  • 5 of 5

This place is perfect for a family of up to 12 people. The house is well appointed and very clean. The owners are friendly but unobtrusive. We are telling our friends and will stay again sometime.

Excellent home for family vacation

  • 5 of 5

The Miller’s home was fantastic! It was remote and quiet, yet still convenient to the Black Hills attractions. The property was beautifully landscaped and relaxing.

The Miller’s were very gracious and treated us with kindness and like family throughout our stay. They quickly responded to questions before our stay and provided a few extras, such as homemade jam. The house itself was large, easily accommodating our family of 12. The entire house was immaculate, with enough towels and bedding for all. The kitchen had all the dishes and utensils that might be needed. We used the grill the first evening, and enjoyed the huge outdoor deck. There were plenty of books and games, if there had been a need for something extra to do on a rainy day.

The house is also handicap accessible, with a ramp up to the deck leading into the house.

We highly recommend this property for a large family or an extended family vacation.

Lovely, Spacious Home, next door to Custer State Park & Convenient to everything in the Black Hills!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time staying at Bonnie and Dick's working cattle ranch in the Black Hills. I gave their property 5 stars but would have given it 100 if I could !!!

We loved our stay in their home so much we plan to come back in a few years. Highly recommend!!! Their beautiful home is nicely appointed, and a great place to relax and unwind after spending our days sightseeing. They are an amazing couple and were very friendly and helpful during our vacation.

The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed if we wanted to prepare our own meals (which we did a few times.) This home has a spacious living room with a large screen TV, and we were able to relax with a family movie several nights. We had extended family with us (total of 8), and there was plenty of room.

The home is all on a single level, which was helpful as my sister in law uses a wheelchair. There was even a ramp leading into their home.

The outside patio and porch running the length of the home were great for relaxing in the evening, and watching the horses grazing in the field.

Their ranch is absolutely gorgeous. The photos don't do it justice, as they can't capture how beautiful and spacious it is. It was fun to see the cows as we would come & go. Bonnie and Dick live on the ranch, and were available if we needed anything. Their hospitality was so sweet. They gave us lots of helpful sightseeing tips, and Bonnie even mailed a phone charger we left in the kitchen.

If you're looking for a place to stay while sightseeing in the Black Hills, look no further. This is a delightful gem!

Quiet peaceful close to the bison herds AND Mt Rushmore.

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 12 was adequately housed in 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. Close proximity to the best of the hills yet not deep in treacherous driving

Hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5

I want to keep this hidden gem a secret for I fear it will be booked when my family and I want to return.

Great location and perfect accommodations for families who want to enjoy the beautiful Black Hills. The house has everything you will need and the owners were absolutely the most gracious hosts. Plenty of room for the kids to play and discover wildlife. A short drive to Custer State Park where we enjoyed seeing buffalo, a herd of Elk, deer, turkeys, burros, and prairie dogs. We can't wait to return.
