Come for the beach, but stay for the views! Walk out through your french doors opening to your porch providing breathtaking views of the surrounding river and marsh that wrap around the house. Relax in your lounge chairs while sipping wine and taking in the spectacular sunsets. Bring your binoculars to view the many birds and other wildlife that make regular appearances at the house.

Take advantage of your own private dock & boat ramp that are specifically dedicated to the apt for guests to use without interruption. We also provide kayaks for you to explore the sea and a free parking pass for the beach to avoid the need to having to locate a spot.

The apt is open and spacious at 1000 sqft with windows galore showcasing the fabulous views. The kitchen and bathroom are updated. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes etc. Grill outside on the charcoal grill or lounge in the hammock.

The living room features queen size sleeper sofa and love seat, a 40' flat screen HDTV? with premium cable including HBO, Showtime, Starz, Cinemax etc plus free high speed wireless internet. The bedroom is quite large featuring a king bed with all linens provided.

We're around a mile to the beach, but provide bikes or a public parking pass that provides free parking at the beach & entry to the Charleston County Parks.

Exceptional vacation rental

The rental is in such a great location! It's in a quieter area with easy access to Folly Beach and downtown Charleston. The view of the sunset from the patio was just picturesque! The space was very clean and everything was ready for our stay. Todd seems to genuinely care about the experience of his renters. He was so quick to get back to us about any questions we had, he even suggested fun things to do around the area. This apartment and host exceeded our expectations completely. Without a doubt, I would recommend this place! We absolutely plan on returning!

Wonderful Stay!

The property was wonderful! Everything was so clean with everything we needed, kitchen utensils, washer/dryer, etc. We had so much fun taking out the kayaks and bikes! The free parking pass for the beach was definitely beneficial as well, since I always find looking for parking to be a pain. My favorite part was coming back to relax and watch the sun set over the river. Todd was extremely helpful, always responding right away, making sure we got the most out of our stay. I would certainly recommend this rental to anyone looking to visit Folly Beach!

End lot with amazing views inside and outside.

I booked this on a whim for a quick little get away. I was impressed with the bottom apartment. Everything inside was updated, including appliances. The king size bed was very comfortable. We used the grill for oysters and sat outside one night. It is very relaxing out there with the view from the end lot. There is an equally beautiful view from inside the house with all of the windows open. Amazing watching the sunrise and sunset. The only negatives were that the two person kayak was missing all of it's plugs so we couldn't use it. We definitely plan on returning here in the future.

Relaxing by the river

Herons, egrets, ibis, ducks, geese, gulls, and many more birds and wildlife are right outside the windows of this beautiful apartment on the river and marsh. It’s paradise for nature lovers.

This clean, ground floor apartment (no steps!) has all the amenities, from a well-stocked kitchen with stainless appliances to a comfortable king-sized bed and big closet in the bedroom. The living room and dining room are a good-sized area surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows that give you a 180-degree view of the surrounding tidal marsh and river. From the dining room table, it is only about 12 feet out the patio doors and onto the short walkway to the dock for birdwatching, kayaking, canoeing, crabbing, or sunbathing. Our fun times spent here at Todd’s place are what keep us returning year after year. Todd has always been very easy to work with if any small problems arise, and every year he makes improvements and updates to his house so that it is even more comfortable and enjoyable for his guests.

There’s so much to do in the Charleston and Folly Beach area that this house location is perfect for all activities in any direction. One minute to the grocery store or gas station. Five minutes to Folly Beach where the beaches at the county park and pier are free with the Gold Pass that Todd provides for guests. Ten minutes to James Island for shopping, a movie, or James Island County Park, also free with the Gold Pass. Fifteen minutes to downtown Charleston with all its famous history, shopping and restaurants. See the aquarium, Charleston City Market, and the grand old houses along Battery Park. This is an amazing area to visit. Returning to Todd’s pleasant, quiet, and relaxing house after a busy day of sight-seeing is simply the best! Thanks so much for providing such a wonderful place!

Poor Plumbing, Slow to React Landlord but a Beautiful Spot

To Start the location is beautiful, it on the marsh and there is bountiful wildlife. Unfortunately while we staying there over Thanksgiving week we encountered major sewage/plumbing issues. It is a bottom apartment that shares a plumbing system with the apartment above it. First thing Wednesday morning we realized that the toilet was backing up into the tub and this was compounded every time the people renting the upstairs apartment put anything down the drains. I immediately called Todd and left a voice mail, I had not heard from him in an hour so called again, still no response. He finally texted me 3 hours after my initial phone call with promises of an immediate response by his staff. I repeatedly made it clear the it was systemic issue that both apartment were adding to. The maintenance man did not show up until that evening, we were out at the time, not sure what he did but it didn't work because when we returned the tub was 1/4 to 1/3 full of sewage water. I immediately took a photo and texted it to him, he responded that he would have someone out first thing. He never informed the upstairs tenants so the next morning water was flooding out of the toilet and under the laminate floor in the entry way, it was coming up through the floor seams. Needless to say this was disgusting. I went upstairs and had to ask the tenants there to stop using the water, inconveniencing them. I once again texted Todd (this seems to be the only way he communicates) and he said Roto Rooter would be contacting me, and that they would clean the mess. Roto Rooter came around 9:30 AM and determined it was a root in the main sewage line but he said they do not clean or sanitize they are just plumbers. I passed this on to Todd around 10:30 AM and he said he would get on it. Meanwhile we had asked to be put up somewhere else until this was taken care of and got no response to that, just more insurances that he was on it. The maintenance man did not show up until 6:30 PM and he cleaned all easily accessible surfaces, but the floor is permeated with sewage and not remedied. We were very patient with Todd during this whole ordeal and after negotiations, he finally promised us a refund for the 2 full days that were unable to use the facilities there. We have been home for over two weeks and he has only refunded the cleaning fee. Every time I email him about this he responds, that he is on it and then we hear nothing from him until I email him again.

Owner's Response: We appreciate all guest feedback and take it extremely seriously. Over the past 10 years that we have been renting our home we have made every effort to ensure the guest experience is as perfect as it can be for each guest. This is also our family home which we take great pride in. This year alone we have put a tremendous amount of time and money into the property sparing no cost so that it can be enjoyed to the absolute fullest. Unfortunately on rare occasions an issue may arise that could inconvenience a guest. When this happens we make sure the issue is resolved immediately. In this case the issue was resolved as quickly as humanly possible. However when a guest threatens a negative review if they are not reimbursed our hands are tied per Homeaway and VRBOs terms and conditions as extortion is not allowed or tolerated. We have a long history of only positive reviews and extremely satisfied guests. We will continue to believe in the good of our guests to do the right thing and conduct themselves accordingly without threat of malicious behavior.
