LOCATION:

You're centrally situated to enjoy two of Washington's most popular neighborhoods--DuPont Circle and Adams-Morgan. First, DuPont Circle's attributes: the neighborhood is filled with wonderful restaurants, shops, cafes and grassy parks. On Sundays, the DuPont Circle Farmers Market is one of the largest in the city. You'll be able to walk to historic Georgetown, George Washington University, The World Bank, IMF, Embassy Row, think tanks, and museums, among others points of interest. Adams-Morgan is another area you'll want to explore! It is a culturally diverse neighborhood, just northeast of DuPont Circle. Much of the neighborhood is composed of 19th- and early 20th- century row houses and apartment buildings that now sport large and vibrant murals and independently owned businesses. While Adams Morgan is considered the center of Washington's Hispanic immigrant community, locals also associate the neighborhood with its global cuisine, live music, lounges, quirky boutiques, and late-night scene.

TRANSPORTATION:

The DuPont Circle Metro Station is just 3.5 blocks away, and bus lines are also convenient (Metrobuses and the DC Circulator). You won't need a car with the great access to public transit from this location! And biking? Capital Bikeshare makes bike rental a breeze.

If you do want to drive (whether for an hour's grocery store run, or a trip outside the city to Monticello or Gettysburg), consider registering online for Zipcar--a flexible alternative to a traditional rental car. There is a Zipcar onsite. Alternatively, if you are a car2go member, they also are abundant in Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan. If you have your own car, we have onsite parking for a fee, subject to availability (reserve ahead of time), or there are parking garages nearby. You can park on the street, too (Note that street parking is restricted to 2 hours from 7am to 10pm).

REVIEW:

Dana - “Very nicely updated condo with super plush towels, comfortable bed, and lots of extra touches. I couldn't have asked for a better location and have already booked a condo in the building for 2014! After staying in various places in the DuPont Circle area for the past 5 years, I have never stayed in the same place twice! Since this location is so perfect, I'm definitely returning next year. I can't wait to check out the new patio area as that wasn't quite ready this year.”

Reviewer Comments:

Accommodations were clean, apartment was prepared with necessities (toilet paper, towels, clean sheets, extra sheets). Very ingenious - an "autonomous stay" not quite a hotel or inn, but not quite an apartment - a true hybrid. Or, better put; a apartment rental where the hosts meet hotel-like expectations in terms of cleanliness and customer service. You have keyless entry codes so literally show up and use your codes to get in the building and your apartment and ...well, then you are home. No check in, no one on site (we showed up very late and were relieved to not have to meet someone for keys). *About 40% cheaper than the Hilton down the street by the way* My guess is people don;t necessarily just come for the clean apartments and unique business model...the location. This is a "trifecta of cool: Adams Morgan (check) DuPont Circle (check) Connecticut Ave (check) 10 min walk to Metro and if you are >35 this is the coolest neighborhood on this part of the Eastern seaboard. Literally hundred of restaurants, pubs, eateries, coffee shops, yoga studio, book stores, dance studios and anything else you can think of. Great for a short (and probably an even longer stay) as long as you can deal with a kitchenette and not a full kitchen.

Reviewer Comments:

Perfect location to visit the city. Great area for restaurants. The room was ample for 2 people who are out and about all the time. Good amenities for the small space. It is on the first floor facing the street so you have to keep the shades adjusted accordingly. Also, the windows are not very good so there is a lot of street noise.

Map

The DuPont Circle neighborhood has long been a destination point for tourists and locals alike who flock to enjoy its urban, upbeat culture in a neighborhood that has managed to retain its grand character - so carefully planned by famed architect Pierre Charles L’Enfant. Its destination as a social hub means the neighborhood center has an around-the-clock energy not common in most other DC neighborhoods. Loaded with premium real-estate, art galleries, restaurants, bistros and upscale night-life this is the spot to see (and be seen). In DuPont Circle (Park) itself you can play a game of afternoon chess, participate in group yoga or listen to the musings of local poets and musicians who make 'the Circle' a meeting point. Beyond the rattle and hum of its various gathering points however, youll find quiet streets lined with historic brownstones, small parks, converted mansions and a variety of embassies and institutions. With Metro Red Line service at the center of it all, you can reach just about any area in the city (including the National Mall) making this neighborhood convenient, hip and historic, somehow all at once!

DuPont Place is on the border of the Adams Morgan neighborhood. Adams Morgan is a culturally diverse neighborhood in Northwest Washington, DC, centered at the intersection of 18th Street and Columbia Road, just northeast of DuPont Circle. Much of the neighborhood is composed of 19th- and early 20th-century row houses and apartment buildings that now sport large and vibrant murals and independently owned businesses. While Adams Morgan is considered the center of Washington's Hispanic immigrant community, locals love the neighborhood for its late-night scene, live music, lounges, quirky boutiques and global cuisine.

You can while away an afternoon perusing a used book store, browsing through vintage clothing or picking out the latest clothing trends. After a satisfying meal in one of many restaurants representing different world cuisines, take in the Adams Morgan nightlife at one of the 30-plus music venues catering to every vibe and age group. Adams Morgan spills over with hipsters, salsa fans and revelers in this come-as-you-are nightlife hot spot. The main thoroughfare, 18th Street, features a mix of cool-cat bars, raucous music venues and Latin-infused lounges.
