About Sherrry or Bob Belisle

We moved to Woodstock 43 years ago, attracted by its beauty and so many cultural and sporting opportunities in the immediate area. For a semi-rural area, we have all the entertainment a city could offer. We've worked in the hospitality industry here for 40 years and can tell you about everything, even where the best foliage is! We'd be pleased to lend advice on where to eat, what to see and what to do in town. We have children and grandchildren and we've explored it all. However, we'll be very unobtrusive if we sense you so desire. In our pseudo-retirement we also maintain other properties, play tennis and teach piano lessons. Our log home was built from the trees on our property, even the cherry railings.

Why Sherrry or Bob Belisle chose Woodstock

Our reviews say it all. Woodstock Vermont is considered one of the most beautiful small towns in the US. The village has wonderful shops, a beautiful library, art galleries, several covered bridges, many highly-rated restaurants and a National Park. Woodstock is also “wireless” – a wifi signal covers much of the area. Woodstock is centrally located in Vermont – close to Dartmouth College, Vermont Law School and the Green Mountain Horse Association. Local ski areas include Suicide Six (10 minutes), Killington (25 minutes), Pico (25 minutes), Ascutney (30 minutes) and Okemo (35 minutes). In season, we also have some of the best cross-country/nordic skiing within the local resort and National Park. We love it here. We lived next door for 40 years and completed this new home in 2009, with the idea of renting out the apartment for others to enjoy. And we specifically had our urban-living children advise us on the layout, appliances and amenities. It is a wonderful escape.

What makes this apartment unique

Walk to village, full kitchen and laundry. Keurig.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for such a wonderful stay. We truly enjoyed the cabin and Woodstock and look forward to our return. Your advice to ski Saturday saved us - I don't think we would have made it out there yesterday when the temperature dropped!

Thanks again.

A Gem in Woodstock Vermont!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here in late June, 2016... It's the kind of place where you walk in after a long day of travel and breathe out a satisfying "Aahhhhhh", knowing that you picked a winner. I can't say enough nice things about the owners, Bob and Sherry...Bob helped us out numerous times with restaurant recommendations, trail maps and directions to nearby attractions. The place is well-equipped with everything you need for a great getaway in Woodstock... kitchen stocked with plenty of utensils, pots and pans, dishes, and a Keurig coffee maker (with coffee!). The place was very clean and well-maintained and just a short stroll to the main downtown area of Woodstock. My wife and I had an amazing stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone considering staying in this area.

Romantic retreat in a lovely village

  • 5 of 5

We were made very welcome by Bob. The property had everything we needed and was very comfortable. It was a short walk into town but the hill home was quite steep! We hired bicycles from Woodstock sports and cycling up the hill was a challenge! The local cycling is fantastic - quiet roads and sleepy hamlets. The Worthy kitchen did great beers and was an easy cycle home. Bentleys had live music on Saturday. The local supermarket was excellent. The mountain cremery was really friendly with great breakfasts!. We loved our stay and will definitely return to Vermont.

Cosy in the woods

  • 5 of 5

We were very happy with this accommodation. We were cosy, comfortable and warm even though the mornings and evenings were turning decidably frosty. The washer/drier combo was so efficient and welcome after already being on the road for a week or so. Bob was very helpful with all his suggestions and what he said we did! We especially liked the restaurant he sent us to, Worthy Kitchen. It wasn't worthy but it was righteous! I felt like I was in an episode of Man V Food. We went twice. I thought the road was a bit dark to walk at night so we ate early and then got all cosied up in the lodge. We adored Woodstock. So beautiful. Walk down by the river, cross the bridges, look at all the houses. Soak it all in.

Great Location - Very Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We spent 6 days in June 2015 here and it was perfect. Very close to center but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet, perfect location for some relaxation. Bob and Sherry are wonderful hosts, with lots of information on Woodstock and surrounding area. Very pretty setting and has everything that you need, very comfortable and clean. We would highly recommend and are looking forward to returning again.

Fantastic Property!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot recommend this property enough! My husband and I were in town to run the Covered Bridges Half Marathon, and I happened to find Bob and Sherry's place when I was searching for somewhere to stay. The location was GREAT. It was so close to town (we walked everywhere), and Bob was very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and places to find great "runner friendly" food. The property is gorgeous. There is a ton of space and it is stocked with everything you could possibly need. Next time we are in Woodstock, I definitely plan to stay here!
