About the property

Mountain views with check in time 4:00 pm & check out 11:00 am

We have private, quiet lodging on our 34 acre estate away from the lodge. Open space all around. No highway noise out here. The vacation rental is a chalet style second story lodging on top of a large garage not used during the rental months and it has your own private entrance, driveway, and a private yard with a picnic table in the trees. There is also a covered carport, plenty of parking and a pull through if you have a boat or trailer. There are 2 bedrooms, both with handmade log beds, comfortable bedding, and beautiful quilts. There is 1 bathroom with a tub shower combination with plenty of large soft towels. Also a washer and dryer for your cleaning needs. There is wood flooring throughout, with throw rugs to give you that feel of rustic lodging in the mountains. Also granite counter tops in the bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen has the utensils you need to enjoy cooking. A breakfast bar or a table that seats six will make anywhere you eat enjoyable. Or if you prefer to eat outdoors, there is a BBQ and a table with seating on the balcony deck in the trees so you can sit ,eat, drink, and enjoy your meals viewing the great rocky mountain range. The living room has a new queen sofa sleeper and love seat that is grouped around an entertainment center for relaxing after a day of exploring Glacier Park, Flathead Lake or one of the many other beautiful areas to visit. We have high speed wireless internet and a large flat screen satellite TV. We also have hiking on the estate or nearby. Jewel Basin is only 7 miles to the trail head , Strawberry lake is 4 miles to the trail head, and 5 miles to the Peters Ridge trail head.

If you feel like a lazy day by Krause Creek , which flows through our meadows below the mountain range, you can have a picnic with your own picnic table with breathtaking views of the Swan range. There is also huckleberry picking in the area and your hosts can give you a few directions so you can have the experience of picking your own berries. Located halfway between Bigfork and Kalispell, against the Rockies. Flathead lake is 10 miles south, and Glacier park 30 Miles north. Fun in every direction.

About Debbie

Evan and Debbie both work in Kalispell. In our spare time we are usually fishing, hunting, rock hounding, or visiting relatives and sightseeing around Montana. It depends on the season or weather. We compete with each other all year to see who can catch the biggest fish. He knows the area very well and has many a hunting story to tell. We are always willing to direct you in the right direction to enjoy our local attractions. Debbie is an artist who does a little bit of everything, be it sculpture, painting, or making jewelry out of antlers, Montana agates or anything that is from nature. She travels to several shows in the Montana area and has been successful in selling nature theme jewelry. The holidays are quite busy here and with snow and Christmas lights, seems quite magical. Lots of snow for you snow lovers! Not too hot in the summer around here either. Really nice area and climate.

Debbie purchased this apartment in 2001

Why Debbie chose Kalispell

Flathead Valley is a recreational paradise, with spectacular scenery. We live southeast of Kalispell at the base of the Swan Range of the Rocky Mountains. We like it out here because you can relax without any noise.

What makes this apartment unique

The mountain view is what made us buy this place. After a busy day at work we both look forward to coming home, eating dinner, sipping a glass of wine, relaxing, and the mountains are always right there to look at from the house or deck.

We could not have been more pleased!

  • 5 of 5

Debbie and Evan provide a warm and comfortable place to call home for the duration of your stay. The vacation rental is well supplied, obviously cared for and very inviting in every way. Staying at a hotel is an abrupt end to your day when in a location as beautiful as northwest Montana, but that is not the case at Highland Ridge as you can continue to enjoy the outdoors . After unpacking the backpack and kicking off the Keens, we would spend the evening on the deck enjoying the birds, marmots, deer, turkeys and showshoe hares that frequent the area, but it is the gorgeous trees that really make us happy. We meandered about the acreage, through meadows and woods and down to the creek, always taking lots of photographs of the wildflowers, mountains and, of course, the trees. It was hard to leave. Do not hesitate to book this wonderful place! Bonus: the roads leading to the house also provided much pleasure and many photo opportunities. We found our five days at Highland Ridge to be just perfect.

Scenic, quiet, clean and enjoyable

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here in September of 2017. The cabin was very cozy and had everything we needed for cooking and lounging around. The property itself was very big and fun to explore. Lot's of wildlife to watch from the deck! We used this "home away from home" as a "base camp" for excursions into Glacier National Park and surrounding cities.

A quiet Montana oasis

  • 5 of 5

Debbie and Evan’s rental offered us a quiet, beautiful place with gorgeous views of the mountains, many acres of their property to explore, and easy access to Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake, and the trails in Jewel Basin. We enjoyed every minute. Debbie and Evan were very welcoming and hospitable. The perfect hosts.

All the comforts of home, away from home

  • 5 of 5

I spent three nights here by myself and was very pleased and impressed with the accommodations. It's beautifully furnished and the layout maximizes the living space. The kitchen had every utensil, bowl and plate I needed and was impeccably clean. My only complaint, if I had one, is that I'm tall (6'0") and cracked my head a couple of times on the sloped ceiling near the wall - but that's more my clumsiness than anything else!

I highly recommend this property!

It was a clean cabin in a beautiful area. The cabin is close enough to the park and shopping places.
