Roy and I live in Spearman, TX. Roy grew up there and so did his children. We have a small farm that we are close to. I lived in Amarillo for many years, my children grew up there and still live in the area.
Roy or Marianne Pipkin purchased this house in 2011
We purchased this home in the same neighborhood we had a home in for several years because of the great location, neighbors, and we could spend time in Amarillo with our children and grandchildren. Which we do on many occasions. We are excited to share our home with others looking for a quiet neighborhood in a great city with small town benefits.
We loved the large living room area and closed in patio of our Amarillo home. The living areas and bedrooms are separated by a hallway that makes it nice for sleeping quietly while others might want to watch TV or play games in another part of the house.
We really enjoyed our stay. We arrived later in the evening and owner was very flexible. The neighborhood was very nice. We were a little concerned during the drive because the GPS took us thru a dark warehouse area but nicely surprised the next morning. The towels were a nice quality and beds were comfy. Homey, reminded me of staying at grandma's house.
We Love this property & the owners are GREAT!
The house is in perfect condition, big enough for everyone to spread out, visit and relax when needed.
The location is prime, close to everything & easy highway access.
I Highly recommend this house & will always make sure this house is open for our stay in Amarillo.
Thank you Roy & Marianne
This home was perfect for our family's needs during our recent trip to Amarillo! There were 40 of us, so we rented 4 different homes in the area, and this home was very comfortable, clean, and quiet. It was also a great host to 2 family dinners - we were able to use the grill in the back, and there was plenty of room to accommodate us all - we were even able to have a sing along using the piano! The owners were very accommodating and helpful, they responded quickly to any questions we had. The home is older but in great condition, very easy access to major freeways and attractions, and a comfortable place for a family vacation.
We had a great time! We had the opportunity to get 4 brothers together for the first time in ten years; 2 from Kansas, 1 from New Mexico, and 1 from Florida. The house provided a clean and comfortable place to visit, cook, and enjoy time together. The neighborhood was safe enough that 3 of the ladies took a daily walk. This location was close to the airport, to shopping, and also to the Palo Duro Canyon, which was an amazing place to visit. Thanks for the perfect place for a long-overdue family reunion and good times.
We were in town for a wedding. This home was so much more comfortable than a hotel can ever be.
Owners made us feel very welcome. House was in a great location and very clean. Had a great time
in Amarillo, Texas.
The homeowner met us at the house to give us a tour which was very helpful. There was enough flatware and tableware for our family of 10 although seating was a challenge until we discovered a folding table and chairs in a closet. Having the additional room was perfect for our 4 small grandchildren to play and was easily converted to a place for them to sleep at night. The house is in a quiet community conveniently located close to shopping areas, restaurants, and parks. The homeowners provided some information on attractions in the area and answered many of our questions in advance. Overall a great experience. The only thing that could have improved our stay was a stronger internet connection and cable TV. Thank goodness the Olympics were on a major network! Would definitely recommend this home to others.
Quiet neighborhood on cul de sac. 10 minutes from Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center and major medical centers. 30 minutes from Palo Duro Canyon ( The Grand Canyon of Texas) featuring 'Texas' outdoor amphitheater musical and great hiking paths. 10 minutes from the 'American Quarter Horse Museum'. 15 minutes from 'Wonderland' amusement park and 15 minutes from 'Splash' water park. 5 minutes from John Stiff Park, a great place to swim, play tennis, have a picnic, walk and many other activities. 15 minutes from The Amarillo Botanical Gardens and the Discovery Center.
