About Brad & Caryl

My wife and I have lived in Arizona for a quite some time. She was born and raised here, and I came originally from Oklahoma. Our son, now grown, lives in New York, so we don't get a chance to see him as often as we would like. We love Arizona, with it's full range of seasons, and outdoor activities. Where else can you swim during the day, then drive a few miles and put on a jacket at night.

Brad & Caryl purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Brad & Caryl chose Arizona

Quite a few years ago we were invited by my wife's mother to visit her at a rental cabin in August. That was our first experience in a rental cabin at Bison Ranch, and it was one of the first times we just truly relaxed. Later that same year we were looking for a place to go where there was snow for Christmas, and we thought about renting again, so we did. We had so much fun, just the two of us. The cabin had been decorated for Christmas, even included a small tree. We remember it snowed and snowed. That night we exchanged our gifts, and we both knew we had found a place we wanted to return time and time again. Since that time we had always dreamed some day of owning our own cabin. When after many years, we finally we had the opportunity, we purchased Bear 88 as our own. It is still as much fun to go there as it was years ago. We now offer you and your family the same experience during the Summer and Fall, we know you will really enjoy the time with your family in this unique, quiet, peaceful place. During the summer it is so nice to get away from the heat, the hustle and bustle of the city, and come to a place where you and your family can relax out on the porch

What makes this cabin unique

We looked and looked, and looked, believe me there were very many different locations in this area to choose from. But we did not originally find any in Bison Ranch. After a few months of searching, our real estate agent said she had one in Bison Ranch. We just fell in love with this property, it was exactly like the one we had rented for so many years. It had all the right amenities, location, yard, and porch, close to the pond, basketball and tennis court, but not too close. Everything within reasonable walking distance. We think you will love it too.

Great weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience this past weekend! Everything was well stocked and clean, and there was plenty of toys to keep our 3 year old entertained. This was a last minute reservation, and Brad and Caryl let us book the night before we stayed and were very accommodating. As is stated in a previous review, this cabin is not "isolated" but in a cute little community of other cabins. It is VERY quiet and peaceful, a short walk away from the pond and a playground where my son had a great time playing, and we also ate dinner at the Wild Women Saloon which is also within walking distance and I highly recommend! My son got to ride a horse at the nearby horse back riding facility and we went hiking at the county park. The weather was perfect. All in all this was an amazing escape from the heat of the valley and we would definitely stay again :) Thank you Brad and Caryl!

Nice Cabin

  • 4 of 5

Very clean and well maintained except for a few of the vertical blinds that needed some help. As described, everything that you need is there for you to enjoy.

This was a great little cabin.

We had a great time here. Lots of little things add up to a great experience. Easy to find, owners have the place pretty well stocked up just in case you forget anything, bikes, fishing, etc. I will be returning here in the future.

Such a comfortable cabin

  • 5 of 5

My sisters and I stayed here over July 4th and had a great time. The cabin is very comfortable, the beds are great, lots of seating and a very nice front porch perfect for morning coffee, lunch, dinner and sitting out at night. You don't really need to bring anything other than food and yourselves. The kitchen is stocked and there is even cold water in the fridge! You can tell the owners love this cabin and want their guests to return. It's like staying at a friend's place with nice dinnerware, cutlery, etc. We would certainly return. Thank you Brad and Caryl for having us.

Great little cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Great little cabin! We booked our stay for a few days during spring break in March. The cabin suited our needs perfectly and much better than a hotel ever could. The cabin is adorable, comfortable, well maintained, clean and everything looks as it does in the photos. The cabin came with a pair of adult bikes, fishing poles, games and basket full of snacks on the counter for us to enjoy when we arrived. The cabin contains comfortable furniture with a cozy layout. The kitchen was stocked with everything I needed to prepare family meals. The property even has free wifi. My kids loved the toys that were available. Even though there were cabins close to us (but not too close), the neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. We could actually hear the wind blow through the pine trees. I enjoyed drinking coffee out on the porch in the mornings. The owners were easy to work with, emailed us promptly and called, suggested things to do in the area and where to shop. They even worked with us on changing check in/out time. Thank you to Brad and Caryl for providing such a perfect little get-away spot! I highly recommend this cabin!

Owner's Response: Marilene; We are a bit behind on this response, and please accept our apologies for this late response. Thank you so much for your kind review, it is truly our pleasure to provide a cabin where friends and families can gather to enjoy each others company. It is in fact the underlying reason we purchased the cabin. We stayed when we were younger on Palomino Trail, and my wife and I enjoyed our time there so much, we wanted to pass it on to others. A sincere thanks for allowing us to be your hosts, all our best Brad & Caryl
