Comfy apt in Rome!

  • 5 of 5

Angelo is a fantastic host! He made sure we had everything we needed, so that we felt at home! Communication was also outstanding. We had a few hiccups with flight delays and what not, but he was helpful through the entire process. Also, his apartment is at the most perfect location. There’s a delicious bakery and restaurant right next door, and in either direction you go, it won’t be far until you hit major piazzas loaded with bustling restaurants, entertaining street performers, and beautiful sites. Plus, you’ll pass cool shops and boutiques along the way. His home is clean, the bed is comfy, and it has everything you need. If you’re looking for a great place to explore Rome, go to Angelo’s!

Like living with history

  • 5 of 5

For a U.S. citizen, where 300-year-old buildings are extremely rare, actually living in a 17th C building while in the heart of old Roma is an experience that adds to your overall appreciation of the beauty and life of this wonderful city. I cannot say enough good things about our host, nor about the bakery directly next to the building where rolls are available very early in the morning.

The street is alive in the day and you will enjoy the scene from the second-level window, and the building is super-quiet at night. Travel tip: Although a beautiful dresser was provided, and the wardrobe had ample shelves, I found that the bookcase near the bed was perfect for laying out my 15 packing cubes (for 60 days travel).

Great stay in Rome

  • 5 of 5

This apartment has a great location in Rome and has easy access to the sites nearby.

As others have noted Google Maps does not correctly report the location so Angelo was helpful enough to come meet us after our taxi dropped us off in the wrong location a short distance away.

There are several great restaurants nearby within a short walking distance and Angelo was able to help us pick a few to try out. Roscioli has a bakery, cafe, and restaurant nearby as well.

The apartment is a good size and the bedroom is further away from the street to provide a bit more quiet. The kitchen and bathroom are a bit small but had all the needed amenities.

Overall a great stay and Angelo was a great and helpful host.

Perfect location in Roma

  • 5 of 5

Angelo's place was in the absolute perfect location to walk everywhere we needed to in Rome. It was also very spacious and nice and cool with the AC. Angelo was even so kind enough to set us up a car on arrival and call a taxi for us to get to the train station on departure. We enjoyed our stay! Thanks Angelo!

Property in a good location in terms of proximity to major tourist sites. Property was clean.

  • 3 of 5

Was greeted by Angelo's mom. Nice lady but limited English. No real help from Angelo the entire stay. Area of property a bit transitional. Graffiti on the walls right outside. Multiple locks and a metal bar to be placed on the door once inside did not send a message of safety, Still had a good visit

Owner's Response: Dear Frank I really appreciate when guests take time to leave a review because it helps me to improve my work and make it better. However I see that you have written some incorrect things I'd like to explain. Usually I welcome my guests personally. At your check-in I've asked my mother to welcome you because you're arrived earlier than you've planned. I'm sorry she doesn't speack a fluent english, however she just started to show you the apartment before my arrive. After 10 minutes I'm arrived to the apartment to welcome you personally and told you that I live in the same building so I'm at your disposition any time of the day. So I don't understand why you said you haven't recived any assistance from me. The area is very secure, the apartment is in one of the best area of the historical center of Rome. I don't understand to which graffiti you are talking about. About the lock. The apartment was built during 1700 as you can see from the original ceiling in wood and the original floor in red cotto bricks. Also the door is the original. The iron bar you're talking about is the original of this door... it is a storical accessory I've decided to leave in the apartment also as furniture. The lock is just a classical lock that you can find in every Italian house. I don't understand why you say it is a symptom of a non secure area. In any case I thank you for being my guests and I hope I've clarified your doubts Best wishes from Rome Angelo

Great apartment centrally located in Rome

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for 3 nights in the beginning of April. Angelo was very informative, helpful, friendly and made himself available for any needs we may have had. The apartment is centrally located. It's clean, the bed was very comfortable and

provides ample space for a short stay in Rome. Campo di Fiori is right around the corner. An awesome bakery and cafe is located right near the apartment and was a great way to start off our day. We are looking forward to our next trip to Rome and stay here. Thank you Angelo!

The centre of the city of Rome is a picturesque area of cobbled lanes, lively squares, fashionable bars and renaissance palazzos as well as the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Campo de’ Fiori, the Spanish Steps and an infinite series of monuments, museums and churches containing many of greatest masterpieces of Michelangelo, Raphael, Caravaggio and Bernini. The city centre is also the centre of Italian political life, and indeed the bars and restaurants surrounding Montecitorio and the Senate are often frequented by well known local and national politicians.

In ancient times, the area around Piazza Navona and the Pantheon was known as Campo Marzio, and was used as an outlying arena for sports and military exercises. However it was the 17th century Baroque masters - Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Francesco Borromini – that gave the area its current appearance. Indeed, their churches, fountains and palazzos still inspire the same awe and wonder as they did when they were first built 350 years ago.

The area is well furnished with small restaurants offering typical Roman cuisine and bars in which to stop for a while after visiting one of the city’s monuments. The most famous bars in the area are Caffé Sant’Eustachio and Gelateria Giolitti, both of which are located close to our apartment.
