Our house is a side-by-side two family. We live on one side and rent out the other side for vacationers. Located two blocks from the Thames River where you can stroll along the waterfront watching the ferries, sailboats, commercial fishing vessels and an occasional submarine; five minutes' drive to Ocean Beach Park where there is a boardwalk, kids waterslide, Olympic size swimming pool, kiddie rides, gift shop, nature area, miniature golf, concerts and an arcade.
**Included in the rental is our Ocean Beach Parking Pass** so you don't need to worry about parking cost.
The first floor includes the living room, dining room and updated kitchen plus a laundry/mud room making it easy to bring in your sandy beach towels and blankets. In addition there is a small, windowed front porch area that's perfect for quiet reading; or, for those vacationers who still need to check in with work, the house is equipped with WiFi. Upstairs is the bathroom and three bedrooms (one full bed, one with two twins and one queen); the queen bedroom also has a small sitting area for quiet relaxation with a good book. The house is fully equipped with linens, towels, paper supplies, pots, pans, utensils, dishes as well as a coffee maker, microwave, toaster, dishwasher and gas range. The quiet, partially fenced backyard has outdoor furniture and a grill as well as lounge chairs for relaxing in the sun and watching the night sky. Drive five minutes to downtown and hop on a Ferry to Block Island, Fisher’s Island or Orient Point on Long Island. Mystic, only a fifteen minute drive away, has the renowned Seaport and Aquarium. A half hour away gets you to any of three of the largest casinos in the country – Mohegan Sun, MGM Grand and Foxwoods. Downtown New London itself is an art lovers haven with galleries, live music, theater and performing arts. New London is also home to Connecticut College, Mitchell College and the Coast Guard Academy; while the Naval Submarine Base is located across the River in Groton. At nearby Harkness Park you can see name performers during the open air Summer Music Festival and there is live theater at the Eugene O’Neill Theater, both of which are located about ten minutes away. New London is located 2-1/2 hours from both New York and Boston and about an hour away from famed Newport, Rhode Island where you can tour the grand old mansions of the Gilded Age. In addition to WiFi, there is cable TV, a DVD player, lots of movies to choose from as well as a sound system and very eclectic music selection. We provide beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys and coolers. We also have an iron and ironing board for those occasions when wrinkled isn't the look you want. It’s like being home away from home.

Charming Historic Home
The owner was easy to communicate with and the check in process was a breeze. The b ds were comfy and the house was well appointed with everything a guest might need. The property is a 10 minute drive to the USCGA. We walked to breakfast at the Yolk Cafe. There are several places to eat within walking distance.

Perfect getaway place!
In one word: comfortable. Plenty of room for my family to sleep in, the air conditioning was quiet and worked quickly. Having the beach pass was perfect, and being provided beach towels, linens, and basic kitchen essentials including paper towels and dish soap made it so we didn’t have to schlepp too much with us. Nancy was very kind and gracious! Would stay again if we want to visit New London, Ocean Beach, or Mystic again!

Great location and all the essentials
The home is only a block away from a great children’s park and very close to ocean beach park. It’s also only about 20 minutes from the dinosaur place, which is amazing for young kids and adults. We had a very comfortable stay and all the essentials were already there for. For young children they have the essentials to keep them safe and from melting down, but I will say there are a lot of antiques, beautiful paintings, and breakables throughout…so it’s probably not great for kids that don’t have a firm grasp on behaving yet. Overall we had a great time and the quiet outdoor back patio was a beautiful touch.
