Beautiful, newly decorated and furnished adorable cottage perched on the edge of the Sheepscot Harbor. Perfect alternative to a hotel room for your vacation in Mid Coast Maine. Comfortably sleeps four, one queen bedroom and a queen pull out sofa. Full bath, with tub/shower. Amenities include free wi-fi, air conditioning, a flat screen t.v. with cable and DVD. The kitchenette (NO COOKTOP) includes granite countertops, stainless steel refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker. There is also a gas grill and picnic table outside.
The cottage was very nice. Small, but just fine for 2 people for a few days. It was clean and quiet and offers a great view of the water and the town of Wiscasset. Great location to view historic buildings, light houses and galleries in the area. There are no laundry facilities in cottage or in the resort area.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend mid September. Maine is our favorite destination and this adorable cottage was in the perfect location! A short, beautiful walk to Wiscasset and a 15 minute drive to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, which were wonderful! We also went into Boothbay one night and it was so nice to be able to come back to our clean cottage tucked away. Very private, we were the last one on the water so we only had neighbors on one side of us. The cottage was up to my level of clean which is really saying something. The bed was and the couch were both very comfortable! The only thing is there are not hot plates or a stove so cooking in is not an option, there is a micro and fridge so if you plan accordingly you can still eat at home! Lovely stay, would come back in a heartbeat!
Awesomeness 😊very clean cabin on the water. Nothing like watching the tide go in and out...lots of things to do in the area!
The cottage was adorable and exactly as shown in the pictures. It is right on the water which bodes beautiful views and a nice breeze. The exterior pictures were slightly deceiving as it appears there is an outdoor sitting area, which there is not. Instead of the Adirondack chairs shown by the water, there is a picnic table in the drive way with the grill tucked up against the house. No chairs with a water view. Check in information was not provided as promised, I had to email the owner for the info. The owner did not specify in their response that the access code only became effective at 3pm on the dot. Therefore when we arrived a little early from our 3 hour drive with a newborn baby (which I specified was with us) we were not able to enter the cabin. After departing on our file day I received an email with an additional $40 charge along with an accusation of smoking in the cottage, which we did not. The smell they were referencing was from the trash can which we could not empty ourselves since their directions to the dumpster were incorrect. When I contacted the owner to discuss, they did not and still have not responded after a week now.
My husband and I needed a getaway for our 27th anniversary. We live in New Hampshire and Memorial Day weekend gets a little busy in our area. So I wanted a place to go in Maine that was still off season. I found Michele's place and the location was perfect! We hadn't been in that area for a few years, so we figured why not. It is minutes from Bar Harbor. The cottage is inviting and welcoming. The entrance had a seating area and then the living area was just big enough. The kitchen is updated and has what you would expect for a quick getaway. The bedroom was comfortable and clean. This is definitely a place worth going back to!
The property was nicely maintained. The lake view was beautiful (especially when the fireworks went off). My only complaints were that it was missing some of the creature comforts you are used to when renting from a hotel or business. There was no hand soap so we improvised with shampoo. The garbage can in the kitchen was broken as was the coffee table in the living area. The AC wasn't installed yet so we had to open the windows for fresh air. The owner did offer to put it in but we didnt want to be bothered. Unfortunately, the screen was missing from the bedroom. We did the best we could to clean the dishes with an old sponge and small amount of dish soap that was left. It could have been a better stay but the location is nice.
A great location for exploring beautiful Mid Coast Maine from nearby wineries to whale watching excursions. An easy walk to Wiscasset Village ('The Prettiest Little Village in Maine') for a legendary lobster roll at Red's Eats. A short drive to Boothbay Harbor. Also nearby are the wonderful towns of Rockport, Rockland, Camden and Freeport (home of L.L. Bean). Two gorgeous ocean beaches Reed State Park and Popham Beach are 25 minutes away.
Relax and enjoy some of the most breathtaking sunsets the Maine coast has to offer.
