Overview

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 8)

Our cabin is set up to accomodate couples, friends and families with 'feel at home' lodging. It's a great place to bring your clubs and play golf or your fishing gear and take advantage of some of the best Salmon, Trout and Steelhead fishing in North America. The cabin is unpretentious on the outside but a 4-star hotel inside with a relaxing view of the Devils Hole bend of the Muskegon river. Our vacation home has been professionally designed and decorated and it shows. We cater to anyone who enjoys spending time in a National Forest. We have all new stainless kithcen appliances, large flat screen HD TV with full cable and great wifi for internet connections, wine chiller and full size refrigerator, air conditioning, washer/dryer, outdoor grill, firepit etc. to make your stay more comfortable. Our home is freshly remodeled from top to bottom. It is exceptionally clean and completly furnished with everything you would need for a great stay. Please visit our website for more details...

Our 850 s.f. cabin is situated at 2485 Muskegon Blvd on the steep high bank within the Devils Hole Bend of the Muskegon River. Upstream about 3.5 miles from the small town of Newaygo, just below the Thornapple boat launch. Nestled within the Manistee National Forest our small neighborhood shares the Manistee with turkey, deer and black bear. Considered a fly fishing haven for brown trout, rainbow trout, steelhead and salmon, the river is suited to wading, drift fishing, kayaking and canoeing.

Enjoy an outstanding view down to the river while maintaining the feeling of total seclusion as your nestled within 100' tall hardwood trees. We are set up with 5 beds in 3 rooms (1 queen bed, 2 fulls and 2 twins), a fully stocked kitchen, linens and towels. Why stay at a hotel/motel when you can comfortly stay at our home. We cater to those who want to spend a few relaxing days fishing, canoeing, kayaking and golfing. We have fishing guides if you are so inclined, I would not recommend being able to fish on the river in front of our cabin because of the steep access. Unfortunately we do not accept pets.

About The Owner

We live in Texas but my wife is from Michigan and we travel up 4-5 times per year to fish and visit her family. I am a Landscape Architect and my wife is in the Insurance industry.

The Owner purchased this bungalow in 2010

Why The Owner chose Western Michigan

We fell in love with this place because of its feeling of seclusion yet a great view of the river. The fishing has no rivals. The locals have made us feel at home and many have already become great friends.

What makes this bungalow unique

One thing we didnt realize is how many top ranked golf courses and antique shops there are in the area.

Don't be fooled by the outside appearance, inside the cottage is spacious, warm and inviting. Comfortable beds and living space. Thank you a wonderful weekend in your cottage.

Great To Be Away

  • 5 of 5

My Wife, Daughter and I had a wedding to attend in Newaygo and this property looked perfect. We were pleasantly surprised to see it was better than we expected. The property is awesome. You can see and hear the river through the trees in the back of the house. The fire pit with plenty of wood for sale on site, just made the getaway feel complete.

The cottage has everything you need. The vibe of this place is outdoor cool. Plenty of fun stuff to look at. If I were still in MI and planning a fishing trip, this place would be high on my list.

The owner was so helpful when we needed something. Even stayed on the phone with us when we were trying to find the place after a wrong turn. You would do well to rent this place for sport or to just get away from it all. So much fun!

Cozy!

  • 5 of 5

The house was small but nice and cozy. The water pressure was a little light but was doable.

Needs a good cleaning

  • 2 of 5

Overall the cottage is very cute and would be perfect for a family or couples. However the cottage as a whole needs a good cleaning. Lots of cobwebs and dust in the corners. The blankets could u a wash. The only other issue was there wasn't a real fridge in the cottage it was outside in the garage.

Great Summer Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We loved it. Had three kids with us. River sounds are beautiful although it is a bit further away than I thought. Place was very clean and the fire pit was very enjoyable. Master bedroom has a curtain and not a door as you can see in the pictures. Would definitely stay here again. Kyle had great communication. Thanks!
