Great Place, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

My family and I recently stayed here for a long weekend. We could not have been more happy with our choice! The property is in a great location - short walking distance in either direction to shops, restaurants, and museums; quick drive to the battlefield and Visitor Center. Every thing was clean and well maintained. The apartment is comfortable and roomy enough for a family of 5. And our kids thought it was cool to sleep in a Civil War House. Prior to arriving Rod called with all the necessary details. He also met us upon our arrival and gave us some helpful information as far as location of grocery store, brochures for local attractions, etc. This is definitely a place we would book again for our next trip to Gettysburg!

Traveled there with my daughter, who is a brittle diabetic and has celiac disease, and son-in-law, who is visually impaired. Having complete kitchen facility was a must and was excellently furnished for us. We had plenty of room with the two bedrooms and good-sized livingroom for shared space. Would highly recommend staying here when you visit the Gettysburg Area.

Great Property

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed here for a few days during our trip to Gettysburg. We stayed in the upstairs apartment of the house. The photos listed on the web site were accurate. The property is right on the main street in downtown Gettysburg so there is a lot of noise, but around 10 or 11 o'clock it really calms down and seems that most people are out walking instead of driving. The upstairs apartment was very clean and comfortable. My family and I thought the beds and pillows were very comfortable and everyone slept well while we were there. We did get to meet the owners and they were very nice and friendly. Overall, this is a great property as it is within walking distance to MANY things. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone.

If you are interested in any ghost tours I highly recommend Ghostly Images of Gettysburg. We did the orphanage tour at night and it was awesome. Our tour guide was very informative and shared a ton of history with the group, not only about the orphanage but also about Gettysburg in general. I also recommend checking out the candy store (Sweeeet) that is just up the street. We got the BEST fudge there, and there is also a TON of unique and unusual soda. For an ice-cream, Mr. G's was recommended to us by the owners of the property. The ice-cream was delicious and there was neat little games outside of the shop.

Location, location, location!

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I, and another couple spent a wonderful 5 days experiencing Gettysburg. The location of the property is on Baltimore, which witnessed the Union vs Confederates. Located up a flight of stairs, our two bedroom, one bath accommodations were great. Rod reached out the day before our arrival and clarified off street parking and arrangements to meet. He was accessible and very accommodating. The rental was nicely renovated, it was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The location was the real winner. We loved being in the center of restaurants, ice cream parlors (which there are a ton of) and the history. The food scene in Gettysburg is awesome. The first touristy tour we did was a Food Tour. It set the pace for the rest of the week. We sampled wonderful food which helped us decide restaurants we needed to try. Really recommend it. Lori the owner added history to the tour which made it so interesting. Lastly, walk the streets see the "witness" trees, bullet holes in buildings and even a cannon bowl. If you visit in the summer you can really appreciate what the heat would have been like in wool uniforms. To say the least we enjoyed Gettysburg and would stay with Rod again.
