A little history and a summary of why we love Cody and Wyoming:

Situated at the base of the Absaroka Mountain Range and alongside the Shoshone River is Cody; namesake and legacy of it’s founder; Colonel William F. Cody, more commonly known as Buffalo Bill, the most famous person in the world at the turn of the 20th century. His western charm, exuberance and adventurous spirit still thrive today in the town known as Cody.

Minutes outside Cody there are miles and miles of scenic grandeur as far as you can see. Wild mustangs and antelope still roam free across the prairie. Moose, bear, bison, wolves, mountain lions, Big Horn sheep, mountain goats, just to name a few, are visible in the forests, marsh and on the majestic mountain tops. Native Trout and other fish species are abundant in the pristine waters of rivers, lakes and streams that are so much a part of this vast, incredibly beautiful landscape that is Wyoming.

Fifty-three miles to the west of Cody is the world’s 1st national park-Yellowstone. Established in 1872, no place on earth compares to the splendor and mystery of this natural bounty with parts still waiting to be discovered. The awe and wonder of Yellowstone attracted early explorers and now modern day explorers, scientists, nature seekers, as well as inspiring writers, artists, photographers from all over the globe.

Every direction you choose to travel from Cody is pure delight. There is discovery and a feast for the eyes around every turn and down every stretch of road.

When you decide to visit and experience the traditions of the old west and see with your own eyes what drew settlers here from long distances, you will not leave here the same. The memories of this unforgettable place will stay with you forever and you will yearn to return someday.

Favorite Activities and Attractions in and around Cody:

Yellowstone National Park, Buffalo Bill Center of the West, Cody Nite Rodeo, Dan Miller's Cowboy Revue, Gunfighter's at the Irma Hotel,

About Kim Brice

Moose Alley Lodging opened for business in August 2001.

It all began with the idea to build a studio apartment behind our residence for our children just in case they ever decided to 'move back home'. Extended family and friends came to vacation in our beautiful town and of course, we welcomed them to stay in our wonderful, little apartment. Everyone raved about how much they enjoyed their stay in our cozy, 'moosey' home away from home...so we decided to offer Moose Alley to other travelers as well. We have made many new friends along the way and hope to make many more in the future.

It is now 2017 and a lot has happened in the 16 years that we have been in the vacation rental business. We are 16 years older and "wiser". Two sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law and 9 grandchildren have been added to our family along with much added joy to our lives.

We have added and renovated 3 more properties since the spring of 2012, always working hard at upgrading and improving a vintage, 1936 three- bedroom bungalow, an early 1940’s two-bedroom cottage and a darling, early 1900’s one-bedroom cottage.

It has truly been a labor of love, because it’s exhausting work and at times we were asking ourselves “what have we gotten ourselves into?” We weathered the stress of the initial renovations and now we can stand back and admire the accomplishment. We even received the ‘Pride Award’ from the City of Cody for our beautification of these properties.

We have enjoyed this endeavor of restoring these three vintage houses into beautiful and comfortable “homes” for our guests and the best part is the hundreds of wonderful people we have met from all over the world.

We look forward to many more years. We love sharing information about the area to our guests- helping to make their trip to Cody, Wyoming, Yellowstone and surrounding areas, an enjoyable and exciting experience. A trip they will cherish and have fond memories of for many years to come.

Sincerely,

Dan & Kim Brice

Why Kim Brice chose Cody

This is not our personal vacation rental. This is our home and this guest house is on our property, but it is separate. The studio has it's own private entrance and driveway with a privacy fence that separates our residence from the studio.

What makes this studio unique

This rental is situated in a quiet neighborhood, but only 4 blocks from downtown Cody and within walking distance to all the downtown area has to offer, such as restaurants and shopping.

Great stay !!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for two nights at the end of September and had a great time . The studio has everything you would need for a short or even an extended stay and was very comfortable. There was a good amount of storage, the kitchen is very well appointed and the bathroom is a nice size too . The studio is In a great location - quiet but close to downtown. We also enjoyed seeing the family of deer that visited in the morning and evening as well.My only regret was that we didn't allow more time to visit Cody and explore the area - especially with such a cozy place to stay !

Clean, comfortable apartment

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is extremely clean. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and there was lots of room to move around in the living area, kitchen area and bed area. The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need -- full refrigerator/freezer, stove with oven, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, silverware, glasses, coffee, etc. The bathroom was a nice size. Only concern was that no bath soap or shampoo were provided. I hadn't seen on the website that they weren't provided do just assumed there would be some in the apartment. However, there wasn't any. Just had liquid soap in container on sink and kitchen counter. Luckily, I had travel size liquid bath wash and shampoo in my travel kit. Reserved parking right next to door was really good since we had really cold and drizzly weather. While it's closely located to restaurants, stores and main street, it was amazingly quiet in the apartment which allowed a nice night's sleep. Would definitely recommend this studio apartment and would stay here again in ever in Cody, WY in the future.

This was the cleanest, most comfortable place we have ever stayed. The owner thought of everything - The kitchen was fully stocked with every appliance you could possibly need as well as all the dishes you could think to need. This was our first time using VRBO and we were quite impressed.
