Our Stay

  • 3 of 5

This was our second time staying. We travel with a group of 14 so the house was a perfect choice which is why we came back a second time. We liked how spacious the living room and bedrooms are. Last year we noticed the shower curtains needed to be changed and this year we noticed new shower curtains. However the beds have very old worn out mattresses, sheets, and pillows which made for a very uncomfortable night sleep. We woke up with back aches. Also the house had not been properly cleaned. There was hair all over the floor and pillows. The carpet had not been vacuumed or shampooed and were completely nasty. The basement was even nastier. The furniture in the basement was old and the carpet was badly stained. The wash clothes and towels were old and stained. We brought our own linens because they were the same way last year. When we return to Gatlinburge we will probably stay somewhere else. This house needs a deep cleaning.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry that your stay at our cabin left you uncomfortable... We did shampoo all of the carpet this past spring and will likely have to again soon... A cabin that accommodates 14 people does get a lot of wear and tear... The furniture in the main living area was updated last year however we have not updated the couch in the rec. room yet nor have we updated the mattresses which are not new however this is the first complaint that we have on any of them.. With the updates that we have done we have not went up on our nightly rate of only $250/night for a 5 bedroom cabin that will accommodate 14 people (all in beds... no sofa sleepers or futons)...

We had an amazing week at this beautifully decorated home! There were 14 of us (including 4 teenagers) and everyone loved it. There was plenty of room for everyone and with the 4 floors we basically never saw the kids :) The bedrooms are HUGE and the attached full baths are great. All of the bedrooms on 3 of the floors have doors out onto the wraparound decks – and all of the bedrooms have a TV. There is lots of seating in the living room which was great for a large group. We had 3 separate bear encounters within a block or two of the house – it was very cool Everyone did their own thing and kept very busy while we were there – whitewater rafting, zip lining, Clingsman Dome, guided hikes, cavern tour, the swimming hole at the national park (twice!), the kids went to the association’s pool, and, of course, there was lots of shopping and meals in Gatlinburg. Pigeon Forge is definitely for kids (or cheap souvenir shopping). This was my 3rd time to the Gatlinburg area and will definitely be going back and if we have another large group we would definitely not hesitate to stay at A Peek Into Heaven again.

Great views and accommodations

  • 4 of 5

Great location, great views, nice amenities, fantastic Wi-Fi. The only negatives is the shower curtains needed cleaning (moldy) and the bathtubs drained very slowly. A small working fridge and a nice stereo in the lower level rec. room would be welcome additions.
