Peaceful setting and a well-cared-for property

  • 5 of 5

We had the most pleasant, restful week at the Banjo Ridge cabin. We enjoyed the wildlife we saw (rabbit and wild turkeys) and the view from the porch.

The property is immaculate...clean and well maintained.

We'll book this cabin again, no doubt.

The cabin was perhaps the most beautiful in which we have stayed; it exceeded our expectations. The location in the mountains was ideal; it was quiet and peaceful, idyllic and beautiful. Access was not difficult, and it was close enough to Elizabethton to allow us to do some intended research there. The cabin was clean and well-equipped when we arrived; I hope we left it so. The fire pit was ideal for cooking our brats and roasting marshmallows, which our granddaughter particularly enjoyed. The hot tub was really nice. The beds were comfortable, although ours creaked. The dishwasher also could use some WD-40 or something to cut the creaking. We noted that the toilet in the master bedroom suite was running, so it will need some attention. These are, of course, small matters. We continually commented on how much we enjoyed the property, and the rental price was reasonable. We spent one day inside just enjoying it. Listening to the rain was quite pleasant.

Owner's Response: So glad these folks enjoyed their stay and hope everyone else that stays here feels the same way. Every member of our staff tries hard to keep the place clean and well-equipped. Love to hear that others enjoy the fire pit and roast some marshmallows with those they love. Its really nice to kick back and take advantage of time spent with grand kids, its priceless. We'll get the toilet to stop running and take some WD-40 with us. So good to hear positive words, thanks again for taking the time to share them.

Great stay, clean cabin close to Boone

  • 5 of 5

beautiful setting, heavily wooded, nice views and private. Easy road access and just a half hour from Boone where we shopped, had dinner and went to a game at App State. Our group was large so we rented 3 cabins close to each other. Very clean, nice furniture and the wifi worked great. Being in the woods we enjoyed. Very quiet and peaceful. I can just image how beautiful the fall foliage would be ... Everyone was nice and the booking process easy. Would highly recommend and would stay here again.

Very Cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time and the cabin had everything we needed. The only issue we had was the toilet in the main bathroom clogged several times and the plunger provided wasn't the best. Other than that, it was great.

Enjoyable nice place, but needs some updates.

  • 3 of 5

- When we arrived, the place was full of dog hair and dust. It looked liked it had not been cleaned in awhile, specially under the furniture. Although, I understand it is a cabin and dust/hair/bugs will be there. I bring this up because of the warnings about the deposit. I emailed the owner with pictures about it, and they called to assure me that I should not worry about it and if I wanted to cleaning crew to stop would have been an inconvenience for us because we were going to town and the our dog was staying behind. So we declined (but appreciated) the offer and we cleaned a bit ourselves just to be more comfortable. We also saw reviews raving about how clean the cabin maybe we just had a wrong crew done the job before we arrived.

- The setting is nice, cabin middle of the woods. There is an old school bus down the hill that looks like just got back from Woodstock.

- The cabin itself needs some update and upkeep. But it is a cabin...

- A couple of abandoned constructions close by killed a bit of the view in the back, but it was ok.

- The cabin layout was nice with the big room

- To my taste I would place a couple of lights in the is dark very, dark if you want to take something from your car at night-- bring a good flashlight

- Enjoyed the fire-pit. Did not use the hot-tub

- Bring a stereo for some background classic music -- it is great next to the firepit in the late afternoon.

- The hot tub was a bit noise, specially at night when you want to sit outside and enjoy the "sounds of silence"

Overall it was a nice getaway with clean mountain air.

Owner's Response: Always appreciate guest comments. Thank you, glad that you enjoyed your stay. Would like to address a couple of the comments made. Housekeeping does a wonderful job according to most guests. Their ratings are usually 5 stars which you can see the reviews here online. All guests leave a security/damage deposit that is 100% refundable. Other Guests checked out that morning and our staff of 3 spent all day cleaning & preparing the cabin. This guest called during their stay after they had occupied the cabin & complained of dog hair, it was obvious they had brought a dog. Our staff did call, checked in with the guest and as always offers to help. This guest said everything was great and no assistance needed. The views from this property are heavily wooded. You can't see anything but woods, there's one other cabin in the distance that's beautiful, that's about all you can see from the cabin. There are two large lights on the front of the house. The switch is beside the door. Always a good idea to bring a flash light, too. This home offers wifi and DTV. You have over 100 music stations from classical to rock stations to listen to, hundreds of tv shows and all the movie stations. Glad you enjoyed the fire pit, peace and quiet. It's a beautiful place that most enjoy.

Everything you need in the mountains of TN

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Banjo Ridge Cabin. The advanced instructions/guidance were detailed and appreciated. Our dog loved the secluded setting. I appreciated the offer of a discount when not using all bedrooms (there were only 2 adults on our trip). It can be hard to find pet friendly cabins just for 2. The kitchen offered more utensils and cooking dishes than most rental houses I've seen, which was really helpful.

The king bed in the master bedroom was pretty uncomfortable (worn out spring mattress). After 3 nights, we were definitely ready to get home to our own bed. Hopefully the beds (or at least this one) will be upgraded soon.
