But you can also visit our wonderful National Parks - we're close to both Bryce and Zion - or some or the other local wonders, such as Cedar Breaks, Grand Staircase-Escalante NM, or Kodachrome or Coral Pink Sands State Parks. Or make a day-trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, or even to Capitol Reef National Park! No place is more spectacular than SW Utah, and nothing is as relaxing and comfy as Red Pines Lodge cabin - a great place to come back to after a fun day exploring the area. For some peaceful time to enjoy nature, or go to the Parks, or whatever your heart can dream up.

You can stay cool, calm and relaxed - or cozy and relaxed, watching the snow - on Cedar Mountain, in beautiful Duck Creek, and in our beautiful cabin!
You can cook up fantastic meals in the spacious and very well equipped kitchen – or grill your favorite steak on the gas grill on the deck. Making s’mores and memories awaits you around the great fire pit (except in winter - the fire pit will be snowed under!). And if you must stay plugged into the world, wireless internet and lots of premium TV is here too. All you will lack at Red Pines cabin is enough time to see all the incredible sites that await you here! Come appreciate Duck Creek - and our glorious National Parks - in the summer, winter, or fall! Year-round beauty and fun. Read on for more details......

This light-filled and airy cabin, Red Pines Lodge, radiates hospitality and comfort, and is the essence of 'roughing it in style'. The cabin is situated in a beautiful forest of tall Ponderosa pines, firs, and aspens, just a mile from the heart of Duck Creek Village. Outside you’ll appreciate the rustic log construction, and plenty of parking. The enormous wrap-around covered deck features a gas grill, dining for 6, and seating for all to enjoy the cool breezes, glimpses of the Pink Cliffs, or morning coffee while watching the sun rise. In the evening, sit around the backyard firepit on log benches, and make s'mores and memories under the stars.

Inside, you’ll love the tongue and groove knotty pine walls throughout the house, as well as the columns and railings made from native aspen. Cathedral windows bathe the Great Room in light. Here you can enjoy a cozy fire in the wood stove that sits on its stone hearth, while you relax with a book, TV, or surround-sound music. Also on the Main Level you’ll find the out-sized and well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, and a gas range for the gourmet cook; the Dining area with seating for 6-8. There a pretty guest bedroom, the Aspen Room, with a queen bed and private door onto the deck. And a and a full bath rounds out the layout of the main level of the cabin.

On the upper level is the huge Master Suite, with its very large en suite bath including a tiled jetted tub, and a separate shower. Toilet and sink too, of course!

Also on the upper level a pretty loft area (which makes a great extra bedroom with the inflatable bed) overlooking the Great Room. There's also a desk/work area set up in case you need to use your laptop.

On the bottom level is a large and comfy Family Room with tv and lots of seating, and access to the outside patio area. Also on this lower level is the third bedroom (the Buckaroo Room) with two twin beds; a full bath; and the laundry room with washer and dryer.

This cabin can sleep 10 people, using the two queen bedrooms, two twin beds, a queen sofa sleeper in both the Great Room and the downstairs family room. Two additional are possible using a comfortable queen-size inflatable bed that can go anywhere (although we recommend this for children rather than adults). Any occupancy over 8, however, must be approved by the owner prior to rental. Official maximum occupancy is 8, including all children. With three full baths, one on each level of the cabin, there is plenty of access for all. Red Pines Lodge is perfect for a family gathering or a group of friends.

Also note: We have a limit on the number of vehicles which can be on the property. The vehicle limit is 3, with any trailer counting as a vehicle. You may not park a vehicle on any other property without that property owner's permission.

The cabin sits on a level, forested lot, with easy year-round access. National Forest land is only a couple of hundred yards away, and ATV and snowmobile trails are right at hand. Hiking, fishing, biking, skiing, and a myriad of other outdoor activities are all in close proximity as well. Duck Creek and the surrounding area are truly a natural outdoor paradise.

We do not rent to “house parties” or unruly groups. We welcome those who will respect our cabin, and the natural environment of Cedar Mountain.

Further Details - And Things to Do: Hiking, bicycling, fishing, hunting, ATV fun, snowmobiling, skiing, and horseback riding are just a few of the activities in the area. Aspen Mirror Lake and Duck Creek Pond, popular fishing spots for all ages, are just outside Duck Creek Village and within minutes of the cabin. Navajo Lake, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Brian Head Ski and Summer Resort, and Lake Panguitch are all a short drive away. The many marvels of Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Monument are each less than 45 minutes away. And only a little further away are such amazing spots as The Escalante-Grand Staircase National Monument, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (about 2 hours to the North Rim Lodge and Bright Angel), and Capital Reef National Park. For antique shopping and theater, visit Cedar City (30 mile drive), renowned for its annual Utah Shakespeare Festival in summer and early fall, held on the lovely campus of Southern Utah University.

Places to Go: Duck Creek Village is 1.5 miles to the west of the cabin. Distances from Duck Creek Village to: Aspen Mirror Lake 1/4 mile; Brian Head 23 miles; Bryce Canyon NP 42 miles; Zion Natl Park 45 miles; Cascade Falls 4 miles; Cedar Breaks NM 15 miles; Cedar City / I-15 29 miles; Escalante-Grand Staircase NM (Cannonville entrance) 57 miles; Highway 89, 8 miles; Kanab 49 miles; Las Vegas 198 miles; Mammoth Cave 5.5 miles; Navajo Lake 7.5 miles; Panguitch Lake 32 miles

Great cabin
We really enjoyed our stay, especially being able to use the wood burning stove. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. The only thing I would say is that it wasn't super clean. We would find white dog hairs on the towels/rugs, so for it not being dog friendly, I was a little surprised. But it was very comfortable and it didn't bother us enough to make a big deal about it. We will definitely be back!

Cabin in the woods.
Our family had an amazing Thanksgiving week at this cabin. We have previously stayed at one of the owners cabins and loved it as well. Cabin is very clean and stocked with everything one could possibly need. Can’t wait to return in the future.

Great location if you want to stay between Zion and Bryce.
We enjoyed or stay. It was a very cozy place to return to after a long day of hiking the national parks. We would definitely stay here again if we return to this area.

We live near San Diego, California, but we love this area and will never tire of exploring it. And there is no end to the wonders available to explore. This photo of the owners was taken as we hiked in one of hundreds of slot canyons in Escalante-Grand Staircase National Monument, east of Bryce Canyon.

Why they chose this property

We have visited and enjoyed many of our nation's parks and wilderness areas. We think Southern Utah is one of the most spectacular areas in the country, with an array of what are some of the most beautiful and accessible national parks and monuments. We have been coming to the area for several years, drawn by the beauty and wide variety of outdoor activities. Five years ago, we finally decided we needed to own a little piece of this incredible place. That was such a good purchase that in 2013 we bought this cabin, our second cabin in Duck Creek, with an eye to living here some day. With breathtaking natural wonders any way you drive, all within close proximity, you can't beat this location. Red Pines Lodge is in a great location, near the Village, and with easy access. It's a beautifully built cabin, has the amenities that make it comfortable, yet it has that rustic, warm feeling we enjoy in a cabin - and think others will too. We love both our cabins - both are welcoming, wonderful places. If you love nature and experiencing the outdoors, as we do, you will be amazed at this part of southern Utah. If you love the feeling of being in a beautiful cabin in the forest, then you will love Red Pines Lodge.

What makes this property unique

We love the majesty and beauty of Southern Utah so much that we purchased Red Pines Lodge, our second cabin property in Duck Creek. We also own Cedar Hollow log cabin (also listed on Homeaway/VRBO), in the Strawberry Valley area. It has a special place in our hearts. Most of all, we love sharing this special area with others! We enjoy extending hospitality, sharing our vacation cabins, sharing our knowledge of the area and it's attractions, and making all who stay at our cabins feel welcome and at home. That's our philosophy: to ensure that our guests are comfortable, and welcome, and have a memorable experience. Our brand of hospitality is what makes a stay in either of our cabins unique.
